Amazing content as usual @hansalpinek9 I would like you do a video on civil agitations and how you teach your dog to guard the house and perimeter training using civil agitations and boogie man scenarios 👊🏾🐶
Thanks for watching. Glad to know you are enjoying the content. I do teach how to train with civil agitation. Its in my video series on my site and have discussed it in other podcasts. www.alpinek9real.com/personal-protection-dog-training alpinek9real.gumroad.com/l/qomiia/c2qjpom
I want to say that you should know since you are doing these videos it is absolutely keeping this side of dog training alive and inspiring/teaching others to later pass down this knowledge, some who will have big platforms and create a huge wave and impact in fighting back and some who will stand by it and fight for it on a smaller scale when times get tough. Please continue to get these out and while keeping the same format (as this podcast/conversation/informational style is gold), do some different video series/invite guest etc and more and more people will see your Chanel therefore be educated correctly therefore creating a push back against these organizations, especially when people realize dogs are just one of the many aspects they are using to slowly take away our freedom, I currently have 2 dogs and the only thing stopping me from purchasing a puppy from you is not having adequate space and when I do I plan to do a breeding program around the dog the right/best way.
volume 1,2 3 etc is a great idea, I haven't watched it yet but if it is oriented around opinions/rants then you got gold with that, thanks for the upload.
I am so grateful for finding your videos, thank you so much for sharing so much experience and expertise. You are finally the only dog trainer that makes sense. I love that you help to teach me to understand my GSD as a dog. Question, please…. I have a nearly 7 month old and she is so smart, I don’t want to screw this up. I have purchased videos and following you, but although I am not wanting a “protection” dog I do want a guard dog and would like some professional hands-on help, do you know anyone in Alberta Canada that is in your opinion worthy?
Thanks for putting this out there. Very well said. A few feelings will be hurt, but oh well. Great points at the 19 minute mark in reference to not attacking a man with a stick, but rather "herding him" to a stop. Colonel Conrad Most wrote about this in the early 1900's in his book "Training Dogs", in the chapter (imagine this) Practical Training LOL!!!!!!!!! His point being that when the dog is not close to the handler, it is better that the dog not attack a man with a stick. In the real world, the dog would most likely be killed or badly hurt, then the bad guy would still get away. What's the point of that. Keep up the good work you two.
Happy New Year! I was wondering, after listening to Hans’ “New Year Bitchfest”, perhaps our politicians don’t want us to have properly trained defense dogs?
No No white dogs were in Czech border patrol... as far as I know. white was considered disqualifying fault even thought I have seen some fierce protection white GSDs in my life here in USA.
Stick hits were brought back in for one of the US national championships last year. Also stick hits are allowed in the schutzhund trials in Germany but not the IGP titles. RSV2000 still hold schutzhund title trails in Germany. You make some very valid points though.
I did not talk about USA specifically. Sticks hits are no longer allowed per FCI.... the FCI General Commission has upheld the decision of the Utility Commission to remove stick hits from IGP.....The situation with stick hits has been some time in the making. At the September Utility Commission meeting attended by Randall Hoadley the decision was made to abolish the stick hits (see attached minutes sent by President Robert Markschlager). Voting members of the Commission were sent messages requesting input before the decision was forwarded to the General Commission for action... • International Utility Dogs Regulations (FCI-IGP) Cancellation of hitting the dog with the soft stick: unanimous approval Because all countries including the US have the option to do minor modifications of trial rules and initially there was confusion about the requirement for universal acceptance, Randall specifically asked Mr. Markschlager and Mr. Jansen if the stick hit decision can be accepted on a country by country basis. Here is Mr. Markschlager’s response: “This is the decision of the FCI board. This is not country by country, it is mandatory for all FCI organizations under FCI.” From Mr. Frans Jansen: “In the last meeting of the FCI General Committee the proposal of the Utility Dogs Commission to remove the stick hits from the FCI-IGP regulations. The General Committee decided to approve this. This approval means that the stick hit is forbidden in the FCI-IGP from 01-01-2023.” What this means is that we do not have the option to continue with stick hits. Our organizations utilize rules set out by the FCI, use FCI judges, and send teams to international FCI events and as such follow FCI rules. There could be the argument that we aren’t an FCI organization, but for all intents and purposes we are the FCI entity in the United States and have been given the privilege to request FCI judges, do FCI international team selections, and send teams to international FCI events. Our bylaws do allow for variations in rules, but as you can see there is a firm commitment by the Utility Commission to adhere to removing the stick hits. We have also been informed that it is highly unlikely that any FCI judges will be willing to judge trials with stick hits, and some organizations have already prohibited their judges from doing so. Another caution we received is the possibility that our world team members or entire team may be disqualified from international competition if their breed/sport club conducts IGP trials with stick hits. Several international events have already announced that no stick hits will be allowed and it is implicit for any organization affiliated with the FCI... Although this ruling specifically affects the AWDF organizations that offer IGP, there are potential repercussions for all if the AWDF refuses to accept the mandate. It’s a good time to point out that what was once a federation representing only schutzhund/IPO/IGP has grown to include Mondioring, Search and Rescue (both with separate FCI commissions), herding and RSV2000/RSVglobal. www.germanshepherds.com/threads/no-more-stick-hits.776221/
Met Mike at a HITS conference. Went to his class on testing dogs for protection. The class he gave would fail 99% of the dogs in the world. Green dog, no training, neutral area, tied out alone, decoy hits dog and runs off into a building. Neutral handler gets dog, takes dog to building and sends him on a search. Mike sets up and ambushes the dog inside the building while the dog is searching and put the dog in defense. If the dog shows fight, he lets the dog win. A lot of variables there and most green dogs never make it to the building without prior training. If he is showing or teaching something else now, that’s interesting.
The question also is what is the dog targeting during such tests and not just if the dog is in defense or prey. Putting pressure on the dog does not mean that he is in defense,.

Yeah, this is no big deal. Please give me a call. There is a phone number under each podcast. I can teach you how to do that right over the phone.

wow!!!! I did not know that Most said that. I need to reread his book. What a great point! Thank you!
Oh yeah …hurt feelings. Not my intention but we must say truth no matter what. After all,...I am known as "Iconoclast" for a reason.
Fantastic points Hans!! Thank you
Glad you found it helpful!
Happy New Year
Thank you. Same to you

Good point
Hi hans, I have a question we're there ever any white shepherds you know of who were in the k9 units or border patrol

Indeed. Thanks for watching
