Omg, amazing!! I’m going to watch it again so I can process and remember everything, but I certainly get the point. I have spent a year retraining my GSD/BM that I rescued at 18mos from a GSD rescue. She had been there for 6 mos, knew absolutely nothing and would not come to anyone and was very hard to catch. She also had never seen a ball…lucky me! The moment she understood about playing ball I could teach her anything and she was quite solid on basic commands within 4 months including come…but (sigh) if there is the least bit of stress in the environment or my voice she reverts to what she learned first, to run away from me rather than come toward me. It’s like the story of the GSD who reverts back to chasing the blue shirt rather than the bad man when the flash bang goes off. She is deeply bonded to me and I’m wondering if creating those moments of anxiety like you do with a puppy will work for me or against me.
Returning to the dog on stay or place also builds attention and relationship. I don't use a command like "free or "go play" from a stay or place. This is completely confusing to the dog. Once the dog has a confident and solid "Down, Sit, or Stand, call them back to handler before releasing to a loose roam or play.
@@hans-alpinek9real I agree with everything Hans is saying. @@hans-alpinek9real I had Puci Jipo Me and let you know she passed a few years ago. Its true, your knowledge is unparalleled. Ill be reaching out when my current dog passes for you to find me a replacement!
@@Jay-ln6wm Hey Thank you. How old was Puchi when she passed? Please let me know. Puci was one of the best dogs ever. Thank you for chiming in. Good to hear from you.
@@alpinek9hans310 she was 11.5 years old... 6/2002 to 9/2013. Only female dog I have ever seen lift her leg when she peed. She commanded respect no matter where we went. Male dogs just looked down. Even toward the end she hit like a mack truck.. I had to let her get one last bite before she passed. I unfortunately had to put her son down last year. My partner at work was a female K9 and to watch those to play in the field was magic.... It was like Puci mentored her... I like the old blood lines lol. Her son had that Jipo Me stare and would just watch people and evaluate them lol
This is exactly the direction I’ve been looking for! Thank you so much ❤
You're so welcome!
Fantastic video. You need to watch all the way to the end. The true nuggets are there. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge !--
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the information.

So, if you have been doing it wrong all these years, can you reverse it by applying your principles?
Yes . It is difficult but yes. You got to star overt from scratch.

I'm liking these podcasts but could you please make the intro shorter? You have nearly a full minute that I need to skip before engaging. Thanks.
The best speed to listen to my is in 1.5x
