i bricked my anycubic linear plus. after my new e3d cartridge install and it would not start after heating so i read it needed calibration through pronterface that would not connect no matter what i changed on port speed or anything, so i just disconnected the usb and before the 3d printer could restart to be inferfacable i switched power and now just have blocky screen. please help i am frustrated and at my wits end
Great vid. I'm currently at the point were I get the 5 config file errors and tried to add mainsail to printer configuration but another error occurs that says something along the lines of the add mainsail to printerconfig needs to be fixed before I can resume or something. Idk what I'm doing wrong.
Hello thank you for all the info, can you please help me. I have crydom ed24d3 ssr, but it requires 5v control, is there a way to drive the heated bed with gpio on rip in mainsail/
Not sure if it's the same thing but we can also create an image with the raspberry pi imager app. We can setup the SSID, password in the settings before creating the image. Worked well for me and it is a bit easier
Do you have a video or an update of why you moved away from Octoprint to Mainsail? Currently debating between the 2 for my delta and it seems Mainsail is more integrated with Klipper and lightweight.
I don’t have an update! I think the main reasons I switch are that tighter integration with Klipper. It’s really nice to easily be able to modify your config through the browser, and see rich information about what is going on with the printer in an easy to read fashion 👍🏼. A lot of the same things are achievable with Octoprint or Fluidd, it’s really just a personal choice
It’s been a while since I made this video so a lot of the interface has changed, but I think what you’re looking for is probably under the “gear” icon in the top right corner if I remember correctly
This is a great question! You should be able to switch quite easily between the two, I have not tried it yet though. For updating to the latest version, both Mainsail and Fluidd have an auto update functionality! For Mainsail it's under the the "Settings" tab, then in the bottom right. You have options to update Mainsail, Moonraker, Klipper, and the Pi itself! Fluidd is identical here.
@@eddietheengineer Thanks for your very quick reply! I have used KIAUH to install the software. I don't have the update option within Mainsail, probably because I didn't use MainsailOS?
No, the feature is included in Mainsail! You may need to update to the latest version and rerun the moonraker installation. I would check Meteyou's GitHub page for steps to install--there are a few "breaking" changes in the upgrade that unless you perform a few specific steps it won't show up :)
When I compiled the files I got a file called klipper.elf.hex not .bin. Is this normal? The console output was this: Version: v0.9.1-567-g07004a88 Linking out/klipper.elf Creating hex file out/klipper.elf.hex
Nothing wrong with those btw. That's what the raspi is for. Yeah, updating the firmware is a bit of a pain, but once you have klipper, you dont have to worry about dealing with Marlin's code maze any longer.
I'm up and running on my Delta using a Pi4/Klipper , I'd also like to add my ender 3 v2 :-) Is there a how-to somewhere? Thank you 🙂

Hi, do you have any experience with cutomizing Mainsail interface, like adding graphs or buttons with macros ?

My Raspberry Pi screen keeps saying Klipper: disconnected.
Please help

Yes! This is how I do it now too. It’s so nice being able to set everything up using a gui!
Can i exit mainsail after upload and print? Is it possible?
Why Mainsail instead of Fluidd? Just curious, I just converted my printer to Fluidd, wondering if I made the wrong choice :)
You haven’t made the wrong choice! They’re both fantastic options 😊
@@eddietheengineer Phew! Thanks for posting great videos! 😊
@@fredriklarsen5968 I've tried both, pretty much the same. I stuck with Fluidd.
How do you get to the web interface for mainsail,in putty my IP address didn’t work I use mainsailos.local to log in to the pi.
Is the Worldmap made of Voronparts publicly available ?
Thanks in advance :)
What’s the difference between restart and firmware restart? I never know which one to use.
Great question! I almost always use firmware_restart because I know it covers for both 😄
@@eddietheengineer haha, I typically do both since I don’t know the difference

YOu can edit the Klipper config also with Octoprint in the browser when you install the Klipper plugin.
Anyone know where the Mainsail "Interface Settings" go?

@@eddietheengineer THX There you can save and restore the settings
I love this video. Can you please do some follow-up videos?
ie. setting up macros, bed leveling, connecting remotely etc.
Can you switch between Mainsail and Fluid with this setup. Also how do you update to the latest versions?

Ok, thanks. I thought I had the latest but I’ll look into it.
The video is great!!! It just ended so abruptly. You did not finish talking about the thumbnail
Maybe I can spend some more time on it if I end up doing a Fluidd guide 😊
I just realized that my closing clip didn't get into the video! Oops

What type of board did you compile for? In my experience, the 8 bit boards (RAMPS, ANET...) would use the HEX format as they were AVR boards.
Yup, that's what it was. I have an 8bit board so a hex file is generated.
Nothing wrong with those btw. That's what the raspi is for. Yeah, updating the firmware is a bit of a pain, but once you have klipper, you dont have to worry about dealing with Marlin's code maze any longer.
@@jasonshrout8921 do you think a raspi coupled with a 32 bit board would yield even faster printing speeds?
Thankfully with a lot of the 8 bit boards you can flash directly--so you don't need to copy the .hex file :)
Thank you so much It worked great for me!
Unable to open config file /home/dominicknobili/printer_data/config/printer.cfg
Great video by the way.
Great video. Very helpful
