Hello, i was born and raised as a roman catholic then in my early teenage year i converted to the mormon church later become a so called non-denominational Christian which basically a baptist but with much more louder music😂 anyway now that i am 17 years old i'm thinking to coming back to the catholic church since my family was a roman catholic i am thinking that coming to the church on sunday with my family is a bonding spending time with our Lord Jesus Christ BUT there is something holding me back and its the pope because he said when he was in singapore the pope said “All religions are paths to God,”(and he was talking to the muslim and Buddhist) which is not true because the bible makes it clear that jesus is the ONLY WAY to the FATHER and here's the chapter and verse John 14:6-7 KJV Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Now here's my question, can i be a catholic but not believe to the pope?.
In the Catholic church there are different levels of teaching. Personal theological opinions, doctrinal statements (authoratative but not binding) and dogma (authoritative and binding). Because of the popes position, the line between opinion and doctrine is blurry. As a catholic, i have no problem saying the pope was wrong, as many catholic commentators have also said. What the church does teach is that other religions may have elementd of truth, An approximation of God while missing the mark or moral teaching in accordance with natural law. But you don't have to be in agreement with everything the pope says.

@@johncarloevangelista9863 That's going to depend on the sin. If its venial sin then, yes you may take communion. If its mortal sin, then you need to go to Confession. There are three qualifiers for a mortal sin: the matter itself must be grave (talk to a priest to find out what counts as grave but the 10 commandments are a good litmus test. Secondly, you must be aware it is grave matter. Thirdly, You have to commit the sin with full consent of the will. You have to know it will cut you off from God then willfully do it anyway. On a side note, I went years between confessions. I was a lukewarm Catholic that didn't care and didn't trust confession. I was wrong. There is a great catharsis to sacramental confession. Don't get me wrong, I still confess my sins to God daily. But the assurance of forgiveness was always inward. It was based on what I felt. Having a priest, ordained in the Church to whom Jesus delegated his authority to forgive sins pronounce the words of absolution is so much more reassuring of forgiveness.

By spiritual nature, I'm going to assume you mean divine nature. The divinity of God the Son is eternal. It has no parentage. But we can still say that Mary is the mother of God in both the divine nature and human nature. At the moment of the incarnation, Jesus's divine nature was hypostatically united to this human nature, created a composite God-Man being. Since Mary gave birth to Christ in the flesh but, after the incarnation the divinity and humanity were inseparable. If Mary gave birth to one, she gave birth to both. Hence, Mary is the Mother of God.

In the Catholic church there are different levels of teaching. Personal theological opinions, doctrinal statements (authoratative but not binding) and dogma (authoritative and binding). Because of the popes position, the line between opinion and doctrine is blurry. As a catholic, i have no problem saying the pope was wrong, as many catholic commentators have also said. What the church does teach is that other religions may have elementd of truth, An approximation of God while missing the mark or moral teaching in accordance with natural law. But you don't have to be in agreement with everything the pope says.

@@johncarloevangelista9863 That's going to depend on the sin. If its venial sin then, yes you may take communion. If its mortal sin, then you need to go to Confession. There are three qualifiers for a mortal sin: the matter itself must be grave (talk to a priest to find out what counts as grave but the 10 commandments are a good litmus test. Secondly, you must be aware it is grave matter. Thirdly, You have to commit the sin with full consent of the will. You have to know it will cut you off from God then willfully do it anyway.
On a side note, I went years between confessions. I was a lukewarm Catholic that didn't care and didn't trust confession. I was wrong. There is a great catharsis to sacramental confession. Don't get me wrong, I still confess my sins to God daily. But the assurance of forgiveness was always inward. It was based on what I felt. Having a priest, ordained in the Church to whom Jesus delegated his authority to forgive sins pronounce the words of absolution is so much more reassuring of forgiveness.

By spiritual nature, I'm going to assume you mean divine nature. The divinity of God the Son is eternal. It has no parentage. But we can still say that Mary is the mother of God in both the divine nature and human nature. At the moment of the incarnation, Jesus's divine nature was hypostatically united to this human nature, created a composite God-Man being. Since Mary gave birth to Christ in the flesh but, after the incarnation the divinity and humanity were inseparable. If Mary gave birth to one, she gave birth to both. Hence, Mary is the Mother of God.
