By the panic
I wish I was simple
Plain
Like rain runnin
Right down the middle
Everything inside me was hot
Everything inside me was inflamed
I was looking for the man
They told me I could blame
But I gotta keep moving
Keep moving on
Cause staying still could kill me and you
If we wait for too long
Yea I gotta keep moving
Keep moving on
almost every night
something ain't right
But I don’t know what is wrong
Sail me out of the hell Virgil
They poisoned the well
I can’t drink here now
Saint Steve Irwin I'm a child and I'm certain
These are wild crodiles won’t you
Choke them out
Everything I’d ever seen
Was piled high into a dream
I was worried bout forgettin
But I remember everything
so I gotta keep moving
Keep moving on
Cause staying stills could kill me and you
If we wait for too long
Yea I gotta keep moving
Keep moving on
almost every night something ain't right
But I don’t know what is wrong
i can work this out
i can fight through the pain
there's light at the end of the tunnel
then again it could be the train
i can work this out
nothing's holding me back
there's hope on the horizon
or maybe the earth's jus flat
nostalgia
on a rope bridge and swaying
to dementia
that's the tune they were playing
I coulda swore t i heard someone laugh
as we were leaving pangea
it was fine for the time then again I reckon
I'll see ya when I see ya
cause I gotta keep moving
Keep moving on
Cause staying stills could kill you and me
If we wait for too long
Yea I gotta keep moving
Keep moving on
almost every night
something ain't right
But I don’t know what is wrong
i can work this out
i can fight through the pain
i can see the light at the end of the tunnel
then again it could be the train
i can work this out
nothing's holding me back
there's hope on the horizon
or maybe the earth's jus flat
I’m a 62 year old guy who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and moved to a city where I see people on the street everyday who are struggling with all kinds of issues and aren’t doing well. My struggles with dementia are making me rethink how I see them knowing that it could easily be me there if I didn’t have the support of my wife and family. It’s making me hate the way the world is knowing that people who have been messed up by life are left to deal with it through killing themselves with fentanyl and other drugs. What are we doing here? This world should be better than this….
It is a Fallen World. Once that is understood, coping with it and doing what you can to help others comes quite naturally.
@@grassfireu acknowledgement is step 1. your so very correct.
I was a nurse in long term care and Alzheimer’s units for 15yrs. I gave out so much crappy useless medicine. There are a lot of Dr’s coming out now, presenting how our American diet is one of the main causes. Research on TH-cam: “Reversing Alzheimers:New Research”
@@artharrison9586 It is no measure of sanity to be well adjusted in an insane world
Wishing you all the best. You’re one of the lucky ones to have the love of your family to help you through the toughest time.
I was homeless in uk and Steve irwin was over doing a show was selling a magazine called the big issue, it's a homeless thing to stop begging. I had a dog and he came over to play with it. He said "you've got dog food lying about and a bowl of it but no human food. " I said "I can't cook so gotta eat junk food or takeaways or from soup kitchens and nowhere to keep it cold, so I never keep my food." He asked if I was really homeless, then looked at my shoes and state of me and apologised for asking for dumb question. He sat with me for a while and talked. Took me for a takeaway and said "get whatever. I've already paid. I'll be back in a minute, them I gotta go do this show" I asked "how much I had" from the server and he said "he'd paid £40 and told me the change was my tip but if you didn't walk out with enough to share with your pals, he's gonna demand the change back" I laughed and said" I'll make sure ypu still get a decent tip for telling me" I walked iut and saw Steve with my dog playing with a huge bone, he'd went to a petshop and got him toys and bones. He weighed the bags of food in my hand and nodded to himself and then apologised tbat he had to go. One of nicest man I'd met and he was that manic off camera too. He asked if I knew him and I said "yeah I loved your shows as a kid and seeing you diving on crocs backs was fucking mad" He became even more manic when talking about his park and animals. Really looked like he'd just had a line of coke or something and it just hit him. But I was stood with him for a while lol. An amazing man and though he died too young, he died doing something he loved and knew the risks of what he was doing. Definitely a Saint in my eyes
I honestly believe he was undiagnosed ADHD and his work was perfectly suited for it. A lucky man until the end.
@@MichaelSlaucitajs yeah definitely but he used the energy rather than let it control him. My nephew has adhd amd he was nuts as a kid but now a fat lazy lump that follows every conspiracy for a while and then fully change his beliefs and turns to another. He couldn't handle it and control it
Aussie legend great story hope you landed on your feet been homeless several times in my early years no fun RIP Steve Irwin 👽🐊🐊🇦🇺
@@danielswinbourne3507 was about 2005 ,I saw him. Been doing OK for a about 15 year now
What an incredible memory! I hope you are doing well now❤
Sometimes you just know you're witnessing something special unfold in real time.
Yes. My feelings precisely.
Steve Irwin was a Loved Man.
Let's all be more like Steve and Jesse. ❤
St. Jesse Welles
“There’s light at the end of the tunnel, then again it could be the train” holy shit man probably one of the best lyrics I’ve heard in years.
Beautiful.
We don’t need to work out the world’s problems, only work through our own.
About Steve… I was expecting our 2nd child when he was killed. We named him after him!
Months after he was born, we discovered they had the same birthday. Out of 365 calendar days, we had no clue when Steve Irwin was born… and my labor stalled, we thought he was going to be born by 9pm, no, just after midnight! No coincidences.
Very kind hearted men- my now 17 year old son and Steve Irwin. ❤
@@MovingToLight 😂My brother's name is Steve Irwin. We are probably related to him distantly. Irwin (Irvin, Irvine)is Scottish, a long history. Had a castle there since the 1200s. Drum Castle.
I really love all of these songs. They say a lot!
who woulda figured a guy would wander into the woods and report to the world the news of reality with nothing more than a harp, six strings and a voice. fucking vu-du, loven' it more and more!
Probably the most succinct description of what makes Jesse phenomenal
The talent on this fella is mind blowing, hes an artist and a one in a hundred million
another banger. mans got pockets full of real and relevant messages. Hallelujah!
Ive played this atleast 100 times in last 24 hours.... this is the wutang of folk
Beautiful melody on this one. Beautiful playing. Great voice. Unparalleled lyrics.
I think I’ll just hang up my guitar and quit singing because this guy keeps showing up and smashing every expectation
Nah, this is the thing that should just up everyone’s game. We’ve gotten used to garbage lyrics in country and rock music.
Dude you just continue to belt these songs out left and right. Made impressive. I'm hoping you can get a record or album put out, your talent is deserving of it.
Someone needs to sing songs to this guy too
Wholesome
The only good thing facebook algorithms ever did for me was showing me this person's music.
"There's light at the end of the tunnel, then again it might be the train..."
Oooohh, chills.
I love everything he sings but I just watched my dad die Thursday morning and this struck home. We hadn't spoke in a year and damnit if it all didn't break my heart
That sucks. I hope you have people to comfort you. Hugs. ❤
🙏
Sorry to hear about your dad. Love and prayers brother, one day at a time 🙏❤️
SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS! I KNOW IT IS CRIPPLING……🙏👀✝️
Oh,I’m sooo sorry for ur loss❤️ I’m about to go n check on my dad. He’s dying………his daze are numbered………gonna go jame some Jesse w him :)
Hang in there phriend!
I discovered you like an hour ago, and ive just been going through your songs and lyrics. Im awestruck.
i discovered him like as soon as war isn't murder came out and i'm still awestruck at how fast he puts out songs and how powerful his lyrics are. Such an overlooked gem.
check out some of Jesse's early work... ''Love Me like I'm Leaving'' and ''Rock N Roll'' and ''17 Somebody's Daughter''
@@rosscurtis896 already have! It’s good stuff! But this what he’s putting out now is something deeper!
Welcome to the club, hope you enjoy the ride
The greatest bluegrass country singer I’ve heard in this 20th century I wish you the best
Your music speaks to the part of America thats fighting to survive and hold on. I will go out on a limb and say your best is yet to come. All your songs have a message and we are seeing you finding what to say while we are watching. You got attitude and fire keep it burning bro.
This song is one of the most incredible songs I've heard in a long time. It's given me a perspective on the anxiety my two sons who are near Jesse's age deal with. They started their lives in what seemed like one of the most idyllic times in American history and it all changed in the blink of an eye just moments into a new millennium. Just when that ray of hope shines over the horizon it seems like the next worst thing blots it out. You're an incredibly gifted songwriter when you can create a song that curses the darkness and questions the light all at the same time.
The whole world is falling apart. Meanwhile Jesse Welles is hosting a one man renaissance of American Folk.
Being born more than ten years after Phil Ochs took his life, I didn't expect to see it happen!
Right on ! Great tune.
My feelers are tingling over here with this one. FORWARD WITHOUT FEAR 💓🎶
Also the image of a Saint Steve Irwin wrestling the symbolic tick tock croc is brilliant. I'll walk right off the earth listening to what comes out of that deep Welles next
I've typed this under other videos, but it deserves re-telling: Jesse is the latest in that line of special songwriters who don't/didn't possess a great singing voice but whose songwriting is/was so perceptive and imaginative. Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Todd Snider, Abe Partridge, and Jesse....there is a thread of similarity. .
I keep saying he's our new Phil Ochs.
He does have a great singing voice and can outsing (and out write) all of the people you mention--he's a rocker with a huge range and he knows how to stylize--check out his recordings with his band "Welles": th-cam.com/video/knI20MEKHuQ/w-d-xo.html
@@cmcg5788 Okay, it's the height of absurdity to say he's a better singer or songwriter than Dylan, Prine, or Woody. Let's not lose our fucking minds here. The kid is good, though. And he's going places.
His singing voice is excellent as far as my ears are concerned
Absolutely agree although, he reminds me more of Arlo Guthrie who I'd also like to add to your list. NGL, it's because of the reminder Jessie has given me that l've been re-listening to a few of them.
I like this guy Jesse Welles….
He writes insightfully, with a very prophetic delivery.
Also, he writes great songs literally within hours….
Like releasing the assassination song like 14 hours after it happened.
Very clever guy.
Thanks for shouting out our nations legend and true gentleman 🇦🇺🐊
Still fucks me up he's gone.
"Everything I’d ever seen
Was piled high into a dream
I was worried bout forgettin
But I remember everything"
this is beautiful
“I can work this out / I can fight through the pain / There’s light at the end of the tunnel / then again it could be the train”
Life is a beautiful struggle.
Can’t say it enough thank you so much Jesse Wells! You are a legend amongst men!
Dude it's always kick ass some of us are completely addicted and sing this s*** all day.
How does he have so few views. I heard whistle boeing one a Facebook video and I was instantly snared. This voice, the sort of desperate humor to the songs about the crazy state of the world. Guys amazing.
So glad to see welles finally getting recognition
I loved every song of yours, but this one is different. Its different when you connect so much to a song, and it's inspiring. Thank you man.
"nostalgia
on a rope bridge and swaying
to dementia"
man those lyrics hit me hard. sit still too long thinking about the past and your mind will melt
“Get me out of this hell, Virgil” OMG
yeah
Man every song is so fucking good. I can't get enough of this guy..
This is excellent as usual but this one is extra excellent
💯
...a poet for human experience...thanks for your contributions to my life.....
Truth right there !!!
Bringing tears to my eyes. Love Jesse so much.
My favorite yet, man I want to hear a studio version of this, this is super powerful!
Beautiful. This is exactly what I needed to hear today. Thanks for putting this music out man
He just keeps putting them out there one after another day after day. He’s always pretty clever too.
Oh my, can't stop listening
I hope someone like Theo Von invites you onto his podcast. Maybe even a live performance of one these amazing songs. You’ve got a great voice and an even better lyrical genius about you. God bless you brother. Sing to those trees brother 😎🇺🇸
I literally had this thought the other day. Having him on This Past Weekend would honestly be a great episode.
Couple of interviews out there on him already pretty interesting character def dnt care bout cash ,
That St. Steve Irwin line... dang.
The talent with this guy is unbelievable…
"There's light at the end of the tunnel, then again it could be the train" is genius
When your music found me I spent hours listening , memorizing it, showing it to everyone who would listen . You are something special
Brilliant, down to earth, yet he soars.
Dylan, Fogerty, Petty, Jagger all rolled into one young man💪
His album "Hells Welles" stays in my earbuds.. my fav artist right now.
God this next album is gonna be unreal. Incredible work as always.
I pay for guitar tabs just for reference ✨✊✨
My favourite artist around at the moment
Well. That was a banger.
"There's light at the end of the tunnel,
Then again it could be the train"
That's about the best way I could describe what suicidal thoughts feel like (not that that's what you were singing about, necessarily). People expect a guarantee from me that I'll get through it, but all I can promise is that I'll keep walking.
”…worried about forgettin’ but I remember everything…”👏 🙏🌎❤️
Your soul is filled with music, it's so full of it it's pouring everywhere. Wonderful song as always brother
Just lost my cat who was also my best friend....... this song helped man thanks
🙏 🐈 🙏
I dig the shit outta this one. Dude is unbelievable! A song a day ain't nothing to him!
I hope you get famous enough to tour, I love your music, you are amazing, love the shout outs!!!
I hope he keeps doing this right here, no music biz jooi$hness, none of that, just a guy in the woods with his guitar, releasing albums and songs himself and making enough to live comfortably and getting himself a decent domicile before being priced out forever like so many of us. Jesse is too good and real and pure and his message too important for a tour and all that crap.
He's already done the rock n roll tour
He plays small venues from time to time
Great work my friend. You're truly an outstanding songwriter.
love the concept twist of light at the end of the tunnel being the train, your metaphors feel like home
Are you joking? Are you familiar with no leaf clover by Metallica?
Jesse is awesome. That metaphor is not new.
@@RyanPiper-y7g im familiar, i never said the metaphor was new, i remember it from stories and cartoons that were created before i was born, thats partly why i love it and it feels like home to me... thanks for your input, friend
That cheeky, near-grin at the flat earth... 😏 You're a charmer, Jesse, and we're under your spell.
“There’s light at the end of the tunnel, then again it could be the train” good god dude 🔥🔥🔥
St. Steve Irwin and St. Julian Assange. Queensland's 2 greatest sons.
Such is life, God bless Queensland and Billy Quaid
Thank you for all the tunes. I’ve been paying attention plus plus
Geez this guy is amazing and prolific.
Smashed it again! Cant believe how blessed we are to keep getting such good music in such a short space of time .. We need a world tour! 🌎
It would be interesting to see a collaboration with Jesse Welles & Billy Strings! ❤
This has got to be one of your best, Jesse. It feels very complete. The chord progressions are very inspiring, and the lyrics are stellar. Really appreciated the line about Virgil.
This one is one of my favorites! Keep coming back to listen to it
I have it permanently open in a tab
Please add this to spotify
R.I.P Steve Irwin Awesome song dude
Steve Irwin ~ Always Australian National Treasure 🫡🙌❤
Scrolled way roo far to see this. Steve was a greater St than anyone in the "holy" canon. Truly a passionate and compassionate man
You're a hell of a songwriter, man.
TH-cam blessed me with this fellow and Ren this year. Both totally different and both totally excellent 💜💜
Feeling this song deep in my soul. Thanks for sharing - needed to hear this today.
I tend to clear my throat listening to this guy.
you feel dejected like the rest of us and you are a real superstar
You keep bringing us bangers, man. This is one of my favorites so far. Thank you for sharing your talent. Brilliant work!
This one hits so hard.
I love this song
Keep on keeping on people
I just wish that one day I get to shake your hand.. you help, not only me, but everyone. Love from ms 🙏
Ive been looking into how long youve been playing the game and i appreciate your dedication to your craft one to another, but still keep goin! Youve got a long destiny ahead
good shit
That’s my new favorite…. That light/tunnel/train line is brilliant
Especially coupled with the hope/horizon/flat
This song has been stuck in my head. 🙏 thank you!
You got it son🎉I tryin to remember..lord you helpin all of us chile..
youre going to be a staple of your generation
Man, you've got a great voice. Thanks for sharing your music!
Your by far the greatest song writer of our time.
never change Jesse. thank you for the music.
Songs like this make me want to keep living
This star's goin' supernova. "WITNESSS!!". Lol
Incredible composer. Every other day putting out another stellar piece. Very talented. Enjoyable.
Jesse, you fill my heart, so much so it fills my eues and rolls down my face. We have needed you brother...for so long, so very long.
Holy hell man last i saw you had like 2k subs and this was pretty lowkey now you're getting the recognition you deserve!!
You could write and play for any genre you choose. Harmonica gives me a shiver and wakes me up. Thanks Jesse!
I'll be thinking about this all day.
Great song. Simply a hit.
JESSE!! YESSSS!! THIS IS THE BLOODY ANTHEM SINGLE, LAD!!!! YESSSSS!!!
I dont even have time to get a song outta my head before you put another one in there!
Over 100k subs! Let’s fucking go to 1 Million!!!!!
