You know, there’s a saying that the head is nothing without the neck. Ive been selling on EBay for 20 years and you have helped me refine my store, scale my inventory and increase listing speed and turnover ratios. I have no doubt you will pick the right combination of 1-10 to keep the momentum of your success going. And I look forward to following along on the next chapter as much as the first. You and your family are in my thoughts! Keep on keeping on Chris!
Chris I followed you for a long time, this situation and your reaction make little sense. *The entire category of trading cards have no invoices because originally sold in packs and resold individually. *Limited edition sneakers sold in secondary markets for crazy money is exactly what the brands intended as part of their marketing strategy. *eBay's algorithm has curves and brakes to slow sales on accounts. Your NDA is both an acknowledgment and agreement by eBay of your planned selling strategy. This agreement is probably why your sales weren't slowed down. *Without an aggrieved third party IRS, DOJ, Brand, or Buyer eBay has violated its own NDA. *If you yourself have been permanently banned, not just a company you own, then of course it's a fight. I'm not an attorney but you can sue for the projected income you could have earned on eBay in your lifetime. You will have no problem finding a high-profile law firm willing to take on that case for 40%.
If it's a suspension I'm on the page as you, if Chris himself has a lifetime bad, he has to sue. The NDA is a legally binding contract, that allowed his company to sell a certain product, in a certain category at high volume and value with deduced fees. The NDA is eBay's blessing for him to conduct his business
Chris is a smart guy and he's not a pushover. There is probably more to the story, but no reason for him to tell us every detail. Maybe he was mis-lead in some way by the person who sold him the shoes. Just speculation. I'm pretty sure Ebay wouldn't ban someone who sold as much as Chris did unless they had to for some reason.
That's interesting. Eventually someone will take the lawyer up on this even if Chris has no interest in doing so. Ebay's attitude will have to change. Acting this way will get them in the end.
Much respect, Chris 🙏 You are such a humble guy. I've never heard anyone saying they are better as No 2, especially after being successful in what they do. I'm sure you will be successful in anything you put your hands on.
I really respect that you admit that you are a better "number 2 than number 1". I've been trying to be the entrepreneur person, but I'm so much better at following orders and excelling in a given structure than building my own structure and sticking with it and adjusting to circumstances. It's so hard facing setbacks and not just throwing my hands in the air and giving up. I've watched several of your videos and I thought you had it all figured out. It made me frustrated by self comparison and hopeful at the same time. It show's that no matter how great you are things can still come along and knock you out. Resilience is key and I'm glad to see that you are not letting this consume you and are looking toward different oppurtunities. Maybe even realizing you have value in other realms you've never considered before. I'll continue to follow your journey.
I’m still in shock that eBay did this to you. I’m really starting to hate the platform. Anyways, you handled yourself with grace. Good luck with whatever you decide.
You've been amazing to watch these years, Chris - as an older seller (who began about the same time as you) I've learned a lot from you - the enthusiasm you project is infectious. Best wishes as you move forward!

I love the way you are handling this. You have been my motivation for 2 years now. Ebay also sent me a suspension warning. I would say best of luck to you. But when you have ability ...you don't need luck.
Chris, you are like a cat who always lands on his feet. And you are a great #1 person. I don’t see you as a #2 person. In listening to your videos over the past several months I can tell that you are well educated, have an exceptional work ethic and care about what you are doing. Most people , like me, are not brave enough to take risks to even possibly get near the level of sales you arose to. You didn’t do anything wrong. I believe ebay is in the wrong here. How can you produce what doesn’t exist? However, you quickly accepted this set back and promptly started the wheels of your mind towards the next phase. You didn’t sit there and wallow in self pity, wasting time. No sir, you are taking action and demonstrating to your audience that when you get knocked down, get up, dust yourself off and start walking forward. Best wishes to you!
I appreciate his calmness throughout it all. Loosing a huge part of your income is usually something that sends people spiraling, but he is thinking long term and probably has things set up for him in case these things happen

God your level headedness is enviable. My thoughts on what to do next are to go wholesale all the way! It's the only thing I can think of where you might look back 20 years from now and be thankful you got kicked off of Ebay. If you think about it, it is more scalable than Ebay because you can pound through higher volumes and do a lot mess micro managing, your buyers handle all of the selling details. And you can leverage all your sources that you spent years developing and even significantly add to them. Theres a lot more distribution businesses that are worth hundreds of millions than there are Ebay sellers who get to that point.

Not that you 'jinxed' yourself, but you have said several times if your store shut down for some reason, or you had to do something else, you are confident that you have the skills and experience and the wherewithal to do it and be successful and I am so looking forward to it. My personal thought would be a well run consignment shop for men and women's clothes and shoes with 10, 20 employees and use of your fine detail when it comes to choosing, grading, pricing items, not to mention accounting and you seem like a great boss, of course many of those things can be outsourced. All-in-all you are and continue to be an inspiration and mentor, thank you.

I think you should write a book. I think if you wrote a book and maybe doing speaking engagements on how to run a successful eBay store you would do so good. If you ever came my way I would definitely go. And people can learn from your mistake. Even the most successful people fail sometimes, it just what they do afterwards that counts 😊
Hey man, really sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Pretty terrible that eBay would do that to you, your family and staff. But just to take your business & livelihood away like that is so so bad! I hope they see this and realise how crazy they are being. Good luck I hope something gets sorted. Hi Chris! I’m so sorry that this happened. I think it would be great for you to sell reseller boxes wholesale as it is really difficult for a lot of people to get enough quality items to be productive. Wishing you the best of luck! You will be successful no matter where this journey takes you.
Long time viewer here. Your advice is excellent. May I suggest you review your youtube entry on 2-14-22 regarding avoiding eBay Apocalypse. I believe this live stream may have contributed to your current situation. Also; you fail to address a core issue for all ebay sellers. The "issue" is this; it is their format. They set and control the rules. A seller getting off track always faces what you are experiencing. And, please forgive the phrase, but this ain't church. It is a business and 80% of them fail. I appreciate your calm demeaner. And couldn't you have gone slower and sold the shoes as a side hustle on another format? Good luck with your next adventure.
The thrift store idea sounds like the most fun but getting a job where someone else runs the eBay store and you run the TH-cam channel sounds like the best option. You can still be the source of inventory and have the store ran how you’d like but your name won’t be behind the store.
A thrift store sounds fun, but it's not. Owning one was the hardest I've ever worked in my life. Expenses are high and your audience is limited to the people who walk through the door. That's the last thing I would recommend for Chris to do. A different platform is what I would suggest.
@@derekmarshall2907 I agree it’s a gray area. I don’t know the technicalities of that policy, supplying the store and consulting doesn’t have to mean you work on the store… but eBay could easily say otherwise!

When you're transitioning and figuring things out I'd love to see a short series on sourcing for your house and the progress. That'd be interesting to watch!
I had the same issue with Shopify, super easy to use and upload my items but your marketing strategy is what will make or break your sales. eBay doing all the work in bringing customers made me soft! Take a deep dive in SEO, I see a lack of good content in that niche from a content creator POV.
They want collections, they want high dollar items, these items in rare cases have a recipe trail but in most cases no. I sell knives, OLD knives, a lot of trading goes on
All great options, shopify w/ higher end vintage would work well considering you have a built in audience (think older band tees from 80-90s tours, retro gaming shirts etc.), wholesale would also be epic w/ your audience.. Amazon is incredible and the sales volume+traffic compared to ebay is insane..plenty of smaller fashion brands out of LA doing few mil a year w/ existing Amazon listings that have good sell thru easy to get wholesale accounts.. liquidation truckloads to bin store, also something ppl have success with. Endless possibilities w/ your skillset, you'll be just fine
But I’m definitely interested in buying boxes as well for my own store. Definitely let me know how you plan to sell them. Whatnot sounds like a good plan because of the shipping
One thing to help put your thrift store above other thrift stores If you advertise that you’re donating X amount of your profits, for example 10% to the animal shelter in your area, or in my community we have a teachers aid program where you can donate money and that money goes towards the purchase of certain school supplies like tissues or other personal items For school children….. A different charity each month. People have a tendency to feel like they don’t want a good thing ….
Anytime a transaction happens over $9999 the government wants to know about it. I was thinking about your situation (I have learned so much from you, thanks) and I think that’s why eBay is handling it so harshly is because you raise a red flag with The government and taxes. I used to work at a bank. Every time we do the transaction that was cash over $9999 we had to do a currency transaction report and send it to the IRS. So anything $10,000 and over. Just thought you should know this and anyone else who reads this post should know that.

I feel you would do really well creating your own wholesale company selling boxes and pallets to resellers especially because your social media following is mainly resellers. I would buy inventory from you!
Chris, you are the Best! My heart hurts for you! I have watched you for a long time! I Love your knowledge, your Drive, your kind professional demeanor, And your enthusiasm! I always say there is alway a Positive with every Negative... So I’m sure there are Great Things in store for you!!! I Will always follow and Keep Watching You!!!! Thank you for sharing everything with us!!! Bless you!!!
Disgusting how eBay can turn off the lights just like that. People's livelihoods depend on their eBay income. Mine certainly does I got married based off my earnings on eBay and now applying for a visa for my wife to come and live with me.
@darryl paynts no when you marry a non citizen you need to make at least 23 000 a year to sponsor them as your wife to become a citizen thats what he was trying to say
Yeah they fire ppl pretty fast.
@@StreamersReality Thank you for clarifying that for those that didn't understand. As above really, it's scary to think how you could be making plans for your future and they can just suspend you without giving you a chance to rectify any mistakes.
What sort of visa? I want to move back to the USA but my wife is Canadian and the Green Card processing time is like 2 years.

Man this hurts! I’ve been following along on your journey since 10k on the bay. I love your self awareness and candor with the statement that you are a much better #2.
Y cant ebay jus give u a two week suspension and ban u from selling the sneakers and let u keep it moving
Agreed Chris however I can wager that if you sue EBAY it will be a lifetime ban as a result of lawsuit.
@@les0101s Agreed. I am sure we are not hearing all of the reasons and rightfully so. I would say let it die down and let the healing begin.
First step would be to leave California!
Chris, I'm sorry this happened. You are my favorite youtuber and I have learned so much from you. I know you will always be successful.
I was just sharing your story with my daughter and I told her that 95% of everything I know about selling on Ebay I have learned it from watching your TH-cam channel...so thank you and best of luck
That is sad, you have helped the reseller community so much, I know you will find success in your new ventures.
Chris, I'm so sorry for what happened to you, we will continue watching your videos we are sure that something better is coming for you! Keep it up.
Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. Years from now, you will look back on this and be thankful for what happened. You're going to do great things!
You know what they say. When life throws you a curve ball, you make lemonade. Or is that a different saying ?
@@myst93 🤣 same concept.
Hi Chris, admire your courage in being so transparent about everything. The missing part for me is: how do you feel about what happened? Are you doing OK?
Your a smart guy with an excellent positive attitude. I think you will be successful in anything you do. I hope you remain sharing on eBay.
Sorry Chris..truly an eBay inspiration. Thanks for being there for us, hopefully we can be here for you too. Whatever lays ahead, I am sure it will work out
While I'm sorry for your loss, I'm excited for you to see what is next and to watch you succeed. Although, as a tiny newbie reseller, I honestly don't feel I could do even close to the same in this particular game, I value your hard work and all of your input. Keep on truckin'! 😄👍
I can’t believe you have to go through this. I know you will find that next opportunity soon. Good luck! I’ll keep watching!
Everytime I watch you be hard on yourself it’s upsetting. Am sorry this happened to you, am sure no matter what path you go down you will kill it. I’ve been a member of the patron from the beginning and you guys have completely changed my business and my life.
Head up and on to the next xx
I will continue to follow and watch you. You’ve help us so much. Wishing you the very best.
I know it’s too soon but I look forward to following what you do next and watching the process. You’re amazing with the “process”.
I just want to say thank you, very much, for all you've done for the reselling community, Chris. :)
Lol I NEED TO HEAR THIS! I got hit with a 10 day VERO suspension, AGAIN! Then while already suspended they hit me with 2 more VEROs! (2,000+ items sold/99.3% Positive feedback) to now a 2nd account with only 13 items sold! (SALES ARE HARDER WHEN YOU DONT HAVE MANY)
I love the way you are handling this.
Stay strong, you can get through this. You are one of my favorite TH-camrs and I would still watch any video you put out about reselling. I've learned a lot from you and I have been selling on eBay for 20 years. You are a great entrepreneur!
I admire your honesty & professionalism. You have a ton of knowledge & are so willing to share it. Its tough to see this happen. Makes me sad, I can only imagine how you feel. This is your livelihood. But...when one door closes.. It stinks that your options & what you love to do has been taken away..I do believe you will succeed no matter what you do.
Chris I have learned quite a bit from you. I may not agree with all that you say, but I will give credit where credit is due... You are handling all of this really well. When it comes to entrepreneurship we all have to roll with the punches. You have shown you’re more of a Phoenix than you are a light bulb. I have no doubt you’ll figure out your preferred way of maintaining a reselling operation and keeping up with the frequent content you pull off each and every day. You got this bro!
I watch Storage Wars. Some of the bidders have thrift stores. They look like war zones. If you go the retail route, make it bright and fresh, organized and logical. You will blow your competition out of the water.
The suggestion about the shared workspace was phenomenal!
Can you imagine how much retail space in San Francisco costs? I think he was paying 1-2 grand a month for 2 storage units.
@@WellnessWizdom He’s got the money
@@carltonthepug why? Because of his videos? Do you know him personally? Have you actually seen his profit and loss statement? Have you audited his taxes? Dont believe everything you see in a video is true .
Storage wars is fake.
@@neildaniels18 Yep. Yet people are so naive to think these reality shows are real🤣
I am so sorry this happened to you, but you seem to know what you are doing and have a handle on yourself and your situation so I am glad that you will be able to roll with it and come out moving forward if not on top of the situation altogether! :)
I wanted to thank you Chris for Personally Changing my family life. I Really never have questions anymore, because you guys always have the answers. My opinion you should obviously stay in the group and Just become the buyer. Remember a few podcast ago Tech was saying basically saying why are we the bozos that want to do all the heavy work, the listing, the shipping, etc. Just become the buyer, used the extra time to make better content and do what not for fun. Use the time to enjoy your Growing family! Thank you again for everything!
On March 6th I was doing an unboxing video on my channel and asked what would happen if you got banned from ebay? Although I know it sucks, you are not panicking and got it together brother. You are built different and one of the best human beings I have ever seen on TH-cam. Whatever you decide to do keep letting us know. Daily Refinement is about you and not eBay. I for one will always be a follower.
Ive been following you since your Poshmark days.
Appreciate all the work that you have continued to put in and have not given up. Your attitude and outlook is inspiring. Keep it up. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
chris you are a legend. to see your attitude through this transition is inspiring. i look forward to seeing you succeed in your next move; keep up the excellent work!
You should be teaching, really well done thanks! Been selling on eBay little over a month and have been looking elsewhere to sell for weeks 😂
A 3PL merchant fulfilled center for eBay clothing sellers, you could easily get $2.50 each to prep plus $2.50 pick and pack fee each, plus all other fees
Chris, you're awesome and are straightforward with your knowledge. Keep up what you do and good luck on your next journey.
If eBay was smart, they would hire you to their corporate office to head up seller relations.
Chris, as sorry as I am, because you must feel at some level lost and devastated, I am even more excited than scared or sorry for this next chapter and next adventure.
Sorry to hear, I'm facing suspension too and moving on as well. 20 year seller.
Trust is so much more valuable than anything else.
so scary that everything you know and love can be shut down with the snap of a finger. Stories like Chris' are the reason I have anxiety
And it's why we started our own website when my sis and I considered selling fabric to quilters...we wanted control - not a third party website controlling. It does mean that not everyone finds us, but so be it...at least we aren't kept awake at night over such situations.
Ebay's own promotion bit them and they're taking it out on a seller who utilized that promotion. 😒
I think you should think 10x bigger and become a consultant or coach helping people take their reselling business to a whole new level.
Thank you Chris for all your support and info on how to EBay, as a reseller you helped me so much, I watch you every time your videos come up, I started late on eBay but I’ve seen the rewards through the advice you put out for all reseller to use, super greatfull !! Your help allowed me to make some income during a difficult time in my life. Thank you !
You could look into bill of sales. I think its just as good as an invoice. But I'm no legal expert or advisor. So take it with a grain of salt.
You are Smart guy you will expend very soon this is just the beginning
I'm so angry about this. They could have had you remove the items they had concerns about rather than this. I DON'T TRUST THEM AND THIS IS WHY. I will be selling off my remaining items and become a casual seller. Like many other online platforms, they too are virtual tyrants.
Whatever direction you take will succeed, just watching how you handle this amazes me. First thing you need to do is get some rest⚘️❤
He can become an inspiration to others who had the same experienced with ebay
That reselling is not just ebay alone there are ton of ways and untapped opportunities to resell
Fair enough pull you in for a meeting about the sneakers and warn you do not sell them or you will have your account terminated. But just to take your business & livelihood away like that is so so bad! I hope they see this and realise how crazy they are being. Good luck I hope something gets sorted. You will bounce back even bigger than before
Seems like a gray area though. Technically he’s not supposed to be involved in any capacity in regards to an eBay store.
@@derekmarshall2907 Technically you're not supposed to get banned for breaking no rule or law either.
@@ccrbonline1752 Nothing stopping a thrift store owner from selling via Facebook, Craigslist, etc.
If you have a way to continue to get the inventory, you will always win in my opinion. Purely Sourcing/Wholesale is Secure and Profitable in my eyes. Thanks Chris aka my big Business Bro.
i am so gutted with what happened to you but this is life.
Now you learned and we learned along.
No need to dwell to much on it.
i think shopify will be ideal as you can sell your items directly with the expetise you got you should be successfull.
Now you need to find out how to target traffic toward your shopify store and provide better deal than ebay.
wholesale to ebay seller is another great idea .
Consulting is definatly a YES

All the best buddy I'm sure you'll land in a place of success.
I’m sorry that this has happened to you… I know it may not help much but I have contacted ebay to express my disgust in this situation! I recommend everyone does the same thing…. Also, I love how I’ve seen multiple reseller/TH-camrs expresses themselves on TH-cam. Everyone together must push ebay. I love selling on ebay but this situation you find yourself in is horrible. I wish you the best and please let us all know if there is anything else we can do to help!
What's the best way to contact ebay? I'm late to the ebay platform as a reseller and only started following Chris recently (last 6 months) so not only does this bother me (for selfish reasons), but gives me cause for concern regarding ebay.
So sorry this happened to you. It's such an unforturnate situation... No doubt you will bounce back and continue to help alot of people change their lives.
This breaks my heart. All the hard work, sweat and hours you spent building your reselling business on eBay. I wish you all the best on your next chapter. 🙏🙏🙏
Chris I think you would be great at anything you do! You have help us so much so now it’s time to help you. How can we buy the boxes? Just keep us posted on what you need and how we can help🙏🏾❤️🏆
Sounds like you are giving your options a lot of thought.

Don’t jump too fast in to the next role.

Life is a learning adventure
Hey. I don't watch your channel (not because I dislike you it's a time thing), but hearing about this makes me feel very sad for you. It also makes me worry about the future of ebay as a whole. You seem like a very motivated young man, and I think you're gonna do well.
Please know you're as much an inspiration now as always - maybe more! I appreciate you and your integrity 🤗 Ebay gon' do what Ebay gon' do
Although I do not sell clothing, I have learned so much from you. You are so smart and talented. You're positivity and willingness to help others is so extraordinary that you will do awesome in whatever direction you'll decide to go. Hugs!!
Thank you for keeping it real
I wish you would start up on Shopify and teach all of us that too.
I think you should do a thrift store.... Id love to see you show these big Thrift Shops a thing or two on how to actually run a thrift shop.
When you're transitioning and figuring things out I'd love to see a short series on sourcing for your house and the progress. That'd be interesting to watch!
I really admire your integrity.
I sell knives, OLD knives, a lot of trading goes on
Sharing you current amazon name is a mistake. Once that page is bookmarked, someone can always find you regardless if change it in the future.
Wishing you all the best in your next. I know you will continue to excel and provide value for this community. Thank you!!!!
One thing to help put your thrift store above other thrift stores
If you advertise that you’re donating X amount of your profits, for example 10% to the animal shelter in your area, or in my community we have a teachers aid program where you can donate money and that money goes towards the purchase of certain school supplies like tissues or other personal items For school children…..
A different charity each month.
People have a tendency to feel like they don’t want a good thing ….
Great video, appreciate you sharing and being transparent. Look forward to continue following you and seeing what's up next :)
Somebody probably mentioned that already, lol. I wish you all the best. I’m Prelovedstufflover
Happy for you, finally got your big break!
