Didn't know about "edit face" (bc i almost never work with "do not capture design history turned off"). I just played around with it a little and it's pretty cool. You can switch between capture on and off and it heals automatically the body. You can create pretty cool forms pretty easly! Thanks Mat!
you can do it with history capture on as well. Just go into a new form and on the utilities pick Convert. In that menu set the option to BREP to Tspline or whatever it says. Then it lets you select a face. With that method you will need to manually use Replace Face after you finish the form, but you can do it with capture history on if needed.
Yeah the parent/child visibility isn't great. I think the functionality is actually there, but not exposed. Some better form of it like Inventor of Solidworks would be helpful.

fusion can do this but it cannot show you parent sketch planes. shame
