This is the problem when one tries to re-engineer what Suzuki spent a fortune engineering. The clutch mod may remove all the slop in the slip/assist mechanism but, because you have lost the ‘assist’ bit you have to have beefier springs to prevent clutch slip. Because you have to have beefier springs you put more strain on the slave mounting, so that has to be beefed up too….and you still end up with a much heavier clutch lever and probably no more resistance to slipping than a well maintained slip/assist. Would it not just be better to just repair/replace the slip/assist?

Any new clutch takes a short while to bed in, and there may be a tiny bit of slippage to begin with, but not for more than the first few pull always. You could change your oil if you didn't do that already, im also assuming you haven't used any wear inhibitors like Slick50 or STP oil treatments?, they can trash your clutch !! other than that, you could brace your slave cylinder anyway, it will make the clutch lever feel a lot less spongy, and you'll have made more flex now you're running beefier springs ! Dealing with such small movements as in this case JM_Denmark is simply right, attaching the dial gauge to the bench does not provide any valid measurements whatsoever, despite using the same method before and after, the results themselves are simply not reproducible. And while on it, please consider using aluminium or ceramic based anti seize paste instead of this brown copper stuff. Using it on pairings of aluminium casings and steel bolts can cause corrosion due to differences in electric potential betweens Alu and Steel, thus causing seizure of the bolts later on and effectively causing exactly what you are trying to avoid with it in the first place. Apart from these small things keep up the great content, love it and have learned so much over the years, always something new to find out.

Hey Brother, Copper slip is an anti seize compound along with others like 'Alu slip', 'Beef tallow' and Graphite grease.. the copper verity is just the most comply used. We are still planning our trip, maybe in a huge RV rather then a bike, same kinda money to rent, less weather dependent and a permanent place to sleep every night... this Covid thing stowed it all on the back burner so we made no more steps forward on it since a year ago, and so much has changed in that time..(and in Your life too aye Bro!) but yeah, once the flood waters ebb away, and Covid-19 becomes yesterdays news, we can start to put some plans back together.. Take care Both of you and keep safe over there, and of course, stay in touch.. D&Pxx

Yeah, sorry about that.. that's what happens when you send your wife out to buy an oil drain pan...she comes back with a pink kitty litter tray.. but hey, it cost 99p and works great, so problem solved.. Warmer here too brother, rain on and off, but that just washes the salt away, and thats all good right.! Take care and keep safe.. D&Px

@@Moonfleet41 haha I know the feeling! My other half has been my apprentice lately here on these indoor woodworking/carpentry projects. I think the boss/ee relationship has set in. And you know I’ve become the ‘ee, right? And unpaid, it turns out! lol 😎

Thank you so much for your kind and generous words, im about the garage first, all of the production work is purely amateur and feeling my way in the dark.. but practice makes it easier and every production teaches me a little more.. I'm always keen to grow as a producer and make better videos, so happy to learn from professionals like yourselves. Thank you again for your kind compliments.. maybe we can work something out. Take care and keep safe. Del.
