Great demonstration and explanation. I’ll look into adjust the GCode for direct drive. Thanks for that. I do recommend adjusting at least twice as you’ll see a bit more squish after the 2nd go around. Thanks for the video.
Much better than a piece of paper! I would recommend running the leveling procedure at least twice - as you adjust one corner, it can throw off the other corners, and going through it a second (or even third) time doesn't cost anything but time and can save some frustration.
Great video! I am building an Ender 3 pro to help another friend get introduced to 3D printing and this tool along with the gcodes (and Chuck's videos including how to assemble the Ender 3 pro) make life so much easier for the newbie vs. paper and manually moving around the printhead and bed.
I have been printing for 7 years and just saw this on amazon. I normally use a feeler gauge to tram the bed and then run an auto level. I am going to use this combined with a crtouch for auto leveling. I figured this would be a great tool for tramming.
I have a Creality CR-10S V2 and I select the 300mm g code and it only does the 2 right corners. Any ways you suggest I can resolve or level a different way using this tool? I commented on filament Friday videos but got no reply yet
Interesting, I wonder if it has a different offset that keeps it from being able to reach the left points. Try changing the X32 in the gcode to another number and see if it will run. G1 X32 Y29 F3000 ; Move to Position 1 G1 Z5.7 G4 P25000 ; Pause for 30 seconds G1 Z8 ; Lift Z axis G1 X32 Y270 F3000 ; Move to Position 2 G1 Z5.7
The E leveler will help you flatten the bed if you have a manual adjustment. The gcode you run adjusts the offset for the leveling process only. The offset is only for the probe after the level is complete.
So, I have a BLTouch installed. I set my Z Offset to 0, started the e-Leveler file and on the very first corner, I do NOT have enough adjustment available to get up to trigger the switch on the tool
@@ChrisRiley yes. Using that gcode. There's more than enough room for the leveler. The leveler is in position and the leveling knob reaches the end of spring tension before the bed raises enough to trigger the light on the leveler
I am about to start overhauling an old Ender 3 to get it set up to give to a friends kids, what is the best firmware for an Ender 3 with a BL Touch these days?
Try and find a US forwarding service, have it sent to them and they then send it to you, or design one yourself and send the file to PCB Way for them to build some for you

Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the feedback and the advise Chuck!
Great video today Chris, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good content as usual. I had not seen this device before, might have to pick one up. Thanks Chris.
Thanks! They're pretty useful especially for the beginner.

That's great! Thanks for watching!
Great product, now I can replace my Chris's basement post-it notes with this.
LOL, good call. 😉
I have two of his version 1 models, and I absolutely love them! Makes tramming the bed corners to the hot-end/nozzle SO easy! ❤
Yay! Thanks for your comment!
i know its a while since you did this, but i would not of been tutching the leveler as you adjusted it, but will get it, thanks
Right, I get it, I probably shouldn't have shown that in the video to make it more clear how to do it.

Great custom layer test!
Thank you!
What is my starting point of my knobs and springs?
I usually measure them and try to get them all equal somewhere in the middle of there travel.
Chuck the Ender God.
HA! Indeed.

@@ChrisRiley thanks for the info mate, I’ll try that!
I have a Neptune 4 pro. Do I set me z to 0 after the auto leveling?
If you have auto leveling, you would want to use this before you run the auto level.
Wait so my z offset should be 5 whatever?

Your running CHEPs gcode? It should take you to Z 5.7 to allow you to get the leveler in there.

Hey mate would this gcode file work the same with Klipper based machines?
It should yes, all of those are base gcode commands that work on all firmwares.

marlin
I would agree Marlin is still the easiest to get started with as a user. Install however can be a bit convoluted.
Too bad it is not available for purchase in europe.

not heating the bed give world give inaccurate readings
No it doesn’t. I proved that in one of my videos.
@@FilamentFriday cool. I'll have to watch that
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for the clarification. th-cam.com/video/NlUO-5EtB44/w-d-xo.html@@FilamentFriday
Now do it in a Prusa MK3S+.
😁
I see china cloned it for like $1 shipped
I've seen some of those, China do what they do.
