Another really good one man! I would really love to hear more from you and guests about song writing. I usually have no problem coming up with riffs and melodies... but I struggle to come up with lyrics all the time, and as a result I have tons of unfinished tunes. It seems like the most obvious solution is to just force myself to finish songs so I'd improve, but it's easier said than done for me haha. I'd also love to hear more about song writing in terms of musical composition and how to break out of writing patterns that many of us probably find ourselves in, whether that be starting with an A major and not habitually jumping to the 4 next or something. Cheers!

Awesome interview! Andy, you brought up some great questions. It amazes me to hear stories of how guys started out, their influences and the guitars they owned along the way. I got to see Greg do a clinic at two different music stores here in Jacksonville and Orange Park, Florida a few years back. One with bass (Roscoe Beck) and drums (John Calarco) and one with just Greg and tracks. Both were incredible and meeting Greg was a real treat. Greg is so incredibly versatile and that is exactly what I try to be as well. Greg is the man!
I enjoyed that (you did too which was nice to see) . Greg is the guitarist that got me on to chicken picking and from there country music!!?! And that's how I found you .

Awesome, my two favorite players!!! Unfortunately I bet Greg is a Packers fan but we can settle that on the grid iron. There you go , half time show guitar dual, Bears (Wood) vs Packers ( Koch). Certainly a draw but every bit as thrilling as the game.
As a kid I watched my dad learn off of Greg's SRV instructional DVD. And now as an adult I've been learning from your videos on here and JamPlay. Seeing this collaboration is extra special for me!
What I remember about Gregg Allman was Cher ratting him out to the feds and getting him hemmed up on drug charges. Everyone down the line who supplied them caught the RICO Act for that crap. Not cool.
I really don't think that's the way it happened...Gregg had to testify to a grand jury to confirm testimony about the drug use surrounding the band...the justice system "hemmed him up".
