I been to the Emptihad. I went to laugh at City fans 115 charges, only to find there were none there 😂
As a United fan, I'm not sure why so many fans think this is a bad idea. Iconic stadiums and teams have built new grounds. Such as Bayer Munich, Barcelona, Arsenal, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Inter and Ac Milan are looking into this too.
Got to get with the times and compete with the infrastructure of other teams in Europe and the Premier league. We've fallen behind off the pitch, as well as on it. This is a fantastic idea
we need a new stadium
They don't necessarily think Ma U building new stadium is a bad idea, what they object to is the attempt to get the government ( i.e. everyone ) to pay for the damn thing. If United's new owner wants it, he should bloody well pay for it himself
Wee need a new training camp
@@davidsullivan7743 it’s not just the stadium…. It’s a regeneration of the surrounding area as well. The government aren’t going to just give United money without some guarantees in return. Man City and West Ham’s stadium were part funded by public money don’t forget. No one said anything there.
Who thinks it's a bad idea. Pretty much everyone iv spoke to think it's a great idea

The abyss
Once you include all of the fraud, waste and backhanders to the final total the costs will be astronomical. Two things you never hear in Britain: 1) Ahead of schedule. 2) Under budget.
This is literally the case everywhere on earth. And I'm speaking as someone who has never been in the UK but I've been on construction projects in a dozen countries and it's the same.
No, that's city.
😂😂 it's true though
It’ll bring so much work to the area, country, loads of people. Don’t be negative
Don't need to do fraud.or back handers since united already have the land . That only happens when you try and build on a new site ...... Also the beneifit to the local economy will be enormous . As hotels , food buisness and many hospitality buisnesses will thrive even more from home matches. As 120k compacity is insane , Brighton only has 273,000 residents in its city ........... Uniteds planned stadium will be half the population of the city of Brighton at one venue . United some how have managed to maintain ticket sales / not enough tickets for supporters...... if they fill this stadium every home game they'll never be another ffp issue again in the history of the club ... old Trafford currently compacity is around 74k ..so it's a major increase , aswell being a state of the art stadium they'll have a removable pitch for events. Concerts , boxing , nfl and more ..... the magnitude of revenue building the biggest stadium in England is enormous
Old tafford can be use for games like under 18s etc don't destroy it but new stadium is a good idea
I would say the patch of land would b worth a fortune
Maintenance and all that will be too expensive and I think it'll be a waste. If there's a new stadium then demolish
United could preserve and downsize OT retaining part of the pitch on which our many legends have played. Then rename it as The Busby Babes Academy.
@@karenredheadmutdfan4994that's a brilliant idea but I don't think they'll do it though
That SOFI stadium is brilliant!
It's absolutely insane
Yes, Arsenals Home away from the Emirates.
its 5.5 Billion thats why
@@AnthonyRodriguez-zc4xy The 5.5 Billion comes from the California tax---the cost also includes the surrounding development around and besides the stadium itself- most notably the Lake development.
They should make old Trafford a museum
Manchester deserves this 👊. A world famous club that needs to keep up with other big clubs around the world, in terms of stadium development. This will be another huge step to put Manchester on the map as a world city in the UK alongside London. I would be delighted to see this go ahead.
Us liverpool fans deserve better owners to fight against utd too

I've said that if they build a new stadium it would be foolish to go lower than 100k seats
I actually think they should do 105k just to top the camp nou's capacity of 104k when completed 🤔
Right, go big or go home.
I’ll even go 120k capacity. I want Man U to build a stadium that’ll leave the whole world in awe
Barcelona never really sell out their games, they have over 100k but their average attendance has been lower than Man United's and other teams with smaller teams.
They should visit Edmonton Oilers redevelopment, one of the best and most successful team redevelopment in the world.
If Yoro is injured and out for the start of the season hopefully that will force United to sign another centre back because Lindelof and Maguire are both well below United standards the issue is these players that are not good enough don’t respect the club and won’t leave Ten Hag has to make a statement to these players and say if you stay you can forget about playing a match Maguire Lindelof McTominay Erikson Hannibal Sancho will have to think about this I’m sure some of them will want to play football but one or two will not care because they are about the money they are the ones holding United back at the moment
As a United fan, I obviously want a new stadium, but I completely disagree with Ratcliffe trying to get government funding by calling it "Wembley of the North". The fact is, the Glazers run it into the ground and are still sitting in the background collecting free money and will benefit even more when taxpayers foot the bill for their wreck. They let it get this dilapidated, they should pay for it or at the very least chip in. They want 10 billion for a club valued at 4 billion, they have the cash.
Man United is the most love club in the world, so it a wise decision to build such a huge capacity of Old Trafford.
Capacity should be 100,115...
😂
That would be funny 🤣
with 100,000 seater stadium. All other clubs wouldn't even be able to fit United's season ticket holders in their entire stadium - currently at 50k of the 74k are season ticket holders. Gunna be 75k with that size stadium =)

United fan but I don't think any public money should be spent on the stadium unless there is an agreement that it will be used for other events that would benefit the area. I do think they need to redevelop the area like they have done with Media city. Personally I would like a new stadium with old Trafford turned into a museum or even a new training facility. You could make nearly a billion just selling off stuff from Old Trafford to the fans - ie seats
its like skynited really its great to see as a United fan.
This shouldn't be happening. If anything it's a stupid move that'll ruin football history, knocking down Old Trafford is like knocking down Anfield, you can't erase history. I'm just waiting for the moment for when this plan falls through and for Jim to say something along the lines of "our funds just disappeared randomly from out of nowhere".
You either fix the kinks of Old Trafford or leave it to rot even more. I know that's harsh coming from a United fan like me but I can't help but tell on what I honestly feel

We've been waiting for this for a long time. A new Wembley of the North is what is needed. It will rival the newly renovated Camp Nou, Bernabeu, and the Sofi Stadium. It's a great day for United supporters.
United could ground share with Wigan, or Bolton if they wanted to, while sorting out the stadium!
Wembley of the north 😅 seems like something straight out of game of thrones
But do they not to run with the glazers first are they OK with it.
Wow this the summer of man utd they’re going viral.
100,000 seater stadium wouldn't still be enough to fit all Man United fans in it even if some of them have to stand, lean on the wall or seat at the away stand, the United fanbase is atronomically big. But of course I'm agree with a new stadium, an elite team like Manchester United needs a world class modern stadium.
Juz make it 120k capacity and stay ahead for decades
United will rock the world again having iconic stadium brings posiitive goals to the growth of club
Manchester are supposed to be the biggest club in the world, having a 100K capacity sends out that message. Would love to see it, then maybe semi finals for Northern teams can be played there instead of Wembley.

Well is good place to start the stadium
It's funny how for years and years, ManU have been saying they don't want a new stadium becasue of all the history of Old Trafford. Now they've seen all the new stadiums around the UK and Europe (Tottenham, Real Madrid etc), now they also want a new stadium.
It’s only fitting that the biggest club in England should have the biggest and best stadium

£2 billion might seem like a lot of money, but when you break it down that's 100,000 people paying £100 for a ticket (£10 million), 200 times.
So it would basically pay for itself in about 7 years with 30 games there per season.
And that's not even considering tours, beer and food, shirt and merchandise sales, etc..
Are you forgetting about maintenance costs?
@@mza4739 OK, lets make it £101 per ticket then.. I'm sure £100,000 per game (£3 million per year) would cover it.

Union built projects in US large cities are always on budget and in time , thats how we keep working Union. Sofi was built Union and was on budget and time. large projects left to the non-union are notoriously shabby, late and with a ton of change-orders to suit the contractor.
Then why sofi stadium cost so much at 5bn for 100k seats?
United's would be £2B sterling, Sofi Stadium was 5B Dollars.
@@rosse6705 yes in the end £2B is still just around $2.5B

Just because they are the same capacity it doesn't mean they'll be the same price. Not to mention, California and the US are known for corruption on large-scale projects.

At least united would fill hundred thousand stadium not like shity who can’t fill fifty thousand!
How will this affect PSR? other clubs have taken points deductions from it, wouldn't want to see Utd with points deductions.
Anything to do with club infrastructure so training ground and stadium doesn't get counted
Good Idea 😊
Hope it not called that and sould keep some features in some way if they can.
A new state-of-the-art stadium like the SoFi stadium would attract a huge number of tourists which will create much needed jobs. In view of this, I think it would be a mutual benefit for Sport England and Manchester City Council to part fund the project or at least in the project's infrastructure such as transport and other amenities. I am in no doubt that Manchester United can attract private funding if the stadium will incorporate hotels, shopping malls and concerts.
I think that’s a very generous view to have in Uniteds favour!! I know that both City (commonwealth games) and West Ham (Olympics) have benefited massively from publicly funded stadiums, but Arsenal (I’m an Arsenal fan but now living in Manchester), Tottenham, Everton etc haven’t been able to lean on Government money why should United, one of the richest clubs in the world, do it?
@@simonfew6509 Firstly, United are no longer the richest club in the world. As to why United should get some support from the Government is that an iconic stadium associated with a prestigious football club like United would attract tourists from all over the world and that must surely benefit the local community. If that's not the case then yes, the Government should not help fund the project. Put it this way, if Burnley (sorry Burnley) decides to build a SoFi Mk II it would most likely not have much impact on the local economy hence it should not get funding from the Public.
One thing they must have is a close roof maybe, but that has it problems ,look at flushing meadows in new York players complaining about the ventilation.
Building a massive stadium 🏟️ is a great step toward transformation But is that what we need currently as a club ....
Will the stadium still be named Old Trafford
New Trafford!
Man united is one off the biggest mark inn the world
They can't afford the funding to build one.
New stadium is needed 💯
Build the squad first then the stadium. Who wants to witness a series of humiliating results in a master class stadium
FFP means they can only spend a limited amount without a points deduction, so a new stadium won't impact the squad because infrastructure doesn't count towards FFP.
Nah, get the stadium going, players come and go, Manchester United need a new stadium otherwise they are being left behind simple as.
@@SuperMagnum83it does count towards ffp unless its academy infra
At the end of the day most rival fans would jump at the chance for their Club to have the global reach and seismic stature of United. Unfortunately for them they need to hide their jealousy through banter. We on the other hand lap it up.

"Developing the area" often means forcing the original inhabitants out the neighbourhood out by getting rid of a bit older but affordable (social) housing and putting new expensive apartment buildings for rich people, who turn it into short term rentals like Airbnb or just have it as an appreciating asset.
