It all started when…
In December 2015 we packed up and hit the road for what we thought would be a 12 month Lap of Oz. Fast forward 7 years and we decided to create a video series of our travels to show you all what it’s like to live life on the road!!

Im 54 and brings back vivid memories of a young fella and my Father taking me away Hunting off the gun aswell as Fishing with him. ❤❤❤

And the very reason I myself have an attraction to explore, Hunt & Fish aswell as being alone out in the Wilderness of Australia.

Brilliant video. One of the best I have seen to date about caravaning the cape. We have done Gibb River Road with a camper and would now take the van...all be it much slower. So we are thinking of taking our van...slowly.

Cooktown and surrounds aah, I recognise the caravan park, we loved the place. Good enough fishing at the Cooktown jetty. Snappin handbags, we love it, the turtles were special for us.

Generally on a slab of scotch the first 4-6 steaks from the chuck end which is the end that was closest to the camera will be the best as it gets further along seems to get tougher

Great channel, great insights. Nice getting out on the hair pin bend. Someone may have already raised but, an alternative method, given that particular situation, is to reverse up to and beyond the bend (note the 'track' past the bend). Unless the land owner prohibits access.....😳

Thanks for another great episode and great insight for me as we will be travelling to the Cape from Perth in May-June 2023 - Justin not sure you can give any travel tips, like the best fuel top up places you found and what spares did you carry for the cruiser in particular - dust issues did you change or clean your air cleaner filter or just the socks on the snorkel - thanks in advance (200 towing 1.5t camper trailer is our set up)

Hi Justin. Just saying, @ 5min and 22 sec, where you are pulling the motor out.. if you were to move the swivel support bracket bolt forward (towards the top of the motor) by 3 inches you would be able to slide the motor out and lower it down without hitting the top of your canopy a bit easier.. luv your shows..

I've watched a few of your videos but this was one of the best. The editing, music, drone footage and images are just superb. Beautiful! I was secretly hoping tho that the comment about not letting your wife pack up would come back and bite justin on the butt! Maybe it did with the lure getting stuck.....

I watch your vids every time they come out because I really enjoy them, but i always forget to say, "You need to turn up your audio track". I have to crank it right up to hear yas, but then the ads come on full blast. Other than that, keep up the good work, and enjoy ya christmas :)

@@TripInAVan all good. What program do you use to make your vids? And nah, no control over the ads. But what you can do once you sort out how to increase your volume, play your vid along side adverts before you export so that you can get an idea of the level they should be at.

Hey mate i'm a bushy from FAR NTH QLD and the Gulf.
So you know for future reference.
Its frowned upon to put your hat on the table and is considered up in the bush as BADLUCK.
So DONT DO IT AGAIN.
You may well get a strike of luck when Fishing if you do so.
Dont stress , I learnt the hard way of OLD TIMERS at the dinner table on Cattle Stations in the FAR NTH that gave me the tip and would never do it again.
It goes also for putting your socks on the table in the morning before you put them on.🤨😏👍

Hi enjoyed video but you mentioned helping turtles get to the water It’s a big no no walking from nest to water sets their gps so they can find the way back to the same beach If you place in water may never find way back and nest

Hey, I was wondering how you guys enjoy those places in Cape York with insects in mind? How are you handling mosquitos (dengu) and sandflies? Are they a problem, especially with the kids and you guys always staying near water? Are there times in the year where they arent there?
We just use insect repellant hey. They’ve never been to bad actually
another 10/10👍 ?: why aren't 5th wheel caravans more popular? They are so much safer to tow and better off road. (bumper hitch contributes less than 1% of their mass to traction/steering/braking) ??????

I'm curious - I loved the dad and son trip away together, especially the part with the turtles at night, but if the crocs love feeding on them, how do you know which beaches are safe and which ones aren't? Or don't the crocs make it up to that island?
A bit sketchy , but that’s what we camped over the back of the sand dune
@@TripInAVan You're a braver man than me! I'll go diving with just about any size shark, because you can intimidate them and make them back off, but I don't mess with crocs. :)
