- No one likes to be on the receiving end of someone else's highlight. But typically, most top tier competitors are able to shrug-off these humiliating instances and move on with their lives. But Yoo "Ryu" Sang-wook hasn't been that lucky.

People: *Complains about Ryu clip being in every single league videos*
theScore: *you fool, we have an entire video about that clip*
And its 18 minutes for some reason
*two* videos.
Smithzz loking confused and dazed!
no one complains about ryu faker is just too good and that clip was legendary but nobody's saying ryu's a terrible player lol
lmao
Y’all really decided that putting the clip in every league video wasn’t enough so you just made a whole video about it
yep, the clip is that good
You mean every video in general right?
Looks like you mist the Olofboost.
every league clip? I've seen Ryu die for CSGO, Valorant, OW and Smash XD heck I'm sure I've missed a game or so
Can you explain what happened I don't play league of legends
The original title: How a TH-cam Channel Turned Faker's Greatest Play into a Meme
lol
damn dats original
Hahaha
To be fair riot literally made a skin with the meme line in it
hi fellow robloxian.
imagine being considered a great player, a professional, even being in top teams, having high skills along side Faker and other players, just to be bullied by people because you lose a single 1 v 1, and what's worst is that those people may not have been in a professional play even.
@88Proud_Eldian88 well i never make fun of him, i just see that moment is one of the most iconic moment of esports history, thing is that video always include Ryu sad face and somehow his sad face become the iconic of esports itself.
I think we can all thank the cameraman who decided to zoom into his face
Maybe this will be their next content to find the camera man and make a video about ryu's face once again.
@@paulooyzon6492 don't give them idea, let my boy Ryu rest in peace
His face looks like he was born salty lol
it was reported that Ryu had a surgery in his back for carrying this channel
Lmao
We gotta humble ourselves and admit that, we would’ve gotten destroyed if we were in Ryu’s place
Or if we we're facing Ryu
League players? Noooo. They are all the best and most versatile players in the world. Every single one.
we aint pros homie xd
BrooklynBaller I know right, they are also incredibly intelligent.
Every single player has taught me how to move forward in bold and exciting ways by pressing W.
League players are the apex of our species, all bow to the Iron Gods.
Idk man, I'm pretty sure that silver midlaner whos teammates are holding him back could 1v1 faker.
The fact that olof boost is still in the video is absolutely hilarious
It's tradition at this point

Sometimes I have a bad day and I need to rewatch that clip. When he says "This is a MAJA" it gets me everytime :)

oh yeah yeah
@@amanofham5640 it's 2020 buddy go away
NO ONE HAS EVER DONE THAT! NO ONE HAS EVER DONE THAT!!!!
Anytime they feel like the channel isn’t getting enough views or want to take a break, just bust out the faker vs ryu clip and done.
It's an "In Case of Emergency, Break Glass" thing for these guys. Lol
The thing is, that it works, lol

ryu: so you have summoned me
The Play was in DotA though
@@ayushFos ye and this was not a play but the OUTPLAY
But Ryu didnt realize his play was one of the reason we played League.
Felt bad for ryu, he doesn’t need more channels to keep hammering him in the head about this incident

나두 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
If anyone’s wondering what that says it basically means we love you ryu
Why are you here attack jewel 4, WHY WONT YOU EVER DROP FOR ME
You better go back to my decoration collection :|
agree but first lemme have you lol
Can we show some respect to Ryu though? Dude made worlds with 3 different regions, and was a genuinely talented player for a good amount of time.
Ryu is a legend in his own right.
without ryu and without that moment, maybe league and esport turns in another way .. so thanks Ryu.
Dimitri: "Play in NA."
me: are you insulting your own region?
Even they know how the measure internationally
Think of it like this : hitting Challenger in NA is equivalent of gold / plat in Korea
@@TheRatedOniChannel oh trust me we know. I literally don't even watch the lcs anymore, pretty much just the lec and lpl now
@@amineabdz TRUE TRUE 😂😂😂😂
amine abdz the difference isn’t that massive more like kr diamond/masters is NA challenger
I think one of the things that doesn’t get acknowledged enough about the Faker vs Ryu out play is how much it takes 2 to tango. Both of these players were playing such an incredibly high level that it took Faker pulling out all of his mechanical genius (and let’s be real, atleast a little bit of luck) to create one of the greatest displays of mechanical skill ever. The reality is that if someone not as good as Ryu was in Ryu’s position, they would’ve also gotten clapped in a way thats not even memorable. It would just be Faker killing them without having to pull out all the stops the way he did here. The reality is that play is a testament to both of these player’s incredible skill as it couldn’t exist without the skills of either player being as high as they were
"Brazen Bowl-Cut divinity"
Dude I couldn't hold my laughter haahaha
Ryu's had enough man, did y'all really have to do this to him?
Watch the video bro
@@yorha8674 exactly...🤷♂️
People should really know that commenting goes after watching the video. Don't do it backwards. Lul
This video wasn't even intended to shame him. I only literally now ryu as the guy who got clapped. Now I know that he's actually a good player and a good guy. It was a shame that he had to go trough all this.
Watch the video before commenting
I just really really want to see T1 win worlds just one more time...
I miss the old Skt so much :(
They finally reclaimed the throne.
"Look at this skill, look at this moves, Zed... What was that?"
Had me dying lol
Imagen playing in korea then get dunked so hard you get transported to NA
FeelsBadMan
"Imagen" you know how you spell imagine
No fucking way... never knew NA = EU
Nah, it was EU first, THEN NA
well it isnt really uncommon for worlds winners and runner ups to go to na right before they retire. i can name more than a couple.
na and eu pay better than korea, so most players just move around anyways.
I can imagen that
Man Ryu is already not in the scene but still getting beat down. Feels bad for him.
People: Nobody will remember the loser.
Ryu: I hope that’s true...
At least Ryu is still up there. Something bashers and trolls can never achieve. 😂
TheScoreEsports: **posts new video with Ryu in thumbnail**
Ryu: Ah shit, here we go again
This is why KT fans to this day refuse to get excited before the nexus has exploded in the final game
If only they could successfully contain their excitement. Atleast Score got a lck title before he retired.

True title: How an outplay become a free real estate
for Faker
I laughed when they called the “OlofBoost” Ol’ Reliable. A perfect way to harvest keks.
Ha! in a Discord server that I'm in, we have that Ryu face as an emote called "SadRyu". Also, props to Ryu for not letting himself down after that, I remember him playing on that 2016 H2K roster and it was beautiful

ryu: sees faker in tournament
commence the no roam kill faker strategy*
well that clip will forever be one of leauge's finest and clean vids of all time
Faker didn't ruined Ryu's career, it was the caster who made "look at the moves, look af the cleanse" line.
At the highest levels of any competition, going into every match it should be a coin flip on who will win or lose.
Remember, if you aren't losing some matches you aren't playing the right people.
We should also commend the "observer" for catching that moment as there's an on going 4 man push in the bottom lane and they manage to catch that short but iconic duel.
I love it how they put S1mple awp shot🤣🤣 still love it
"Prior to his run-in with the cleanse and the moves..." I'm dead 😂
Yeah when I think of Ryu, I usually remember him for playing in H2K under Prolly. He was a fucking monster
To give everyone an idea of how much Ryu failed:
- Faker and SKT won the world championship multiple times and he was considered the best player in the world (and he is still really good today)
- Ryu became a player in NA
Ryu: "Give me a break!"
theScore esports: *makes a video on Ryu*
Ryu: *so i have chosen death*
Faker: "I'm about to end this man's whole career"
I feel so sad for him. Plz give him some love
When he said play in NA I died of laughter
ALL THE FAV CLIPS IN ONE VID
WHERES THE DAIGO PARRY CLIP THOUGH
THATS THE TICKET
That Faker outplay is what made me want to play Zed, heck, play League, Period.
Things would be so much different if Ryu just had a "I can't belive that just hapened' laugh to himself
what manga is that?
@@overdosingontomatoes8619 my profile pic? I honestly have no idea. I've been using it for half a decade now
To be honest, I admire Ryu because he didnt let one infamy stop him from playing the game he loves
Tbh i sometimes have these moments myself where i m just sitting there in front of my pc and thinking: „fck i got outplayed so hard“, and guess what i m still alive. Thanks ryu for all the entertainment you gave us 🙏🏻
I swear, this mans just became a meme to everyone lol
I've got to imagine that Yellow is very thankful for Ryu's death. I never thought I'd see something that overcomes the triple bunker rush
I swear to god if I have to hear this clip one more time im gonna travel all the way to the internet brain and delete it for ever
the near ending of this video make me thinks.why do they hate Faker so much that somebody decided to make a insult faker's name just to insult him when he loses a game and disappeared when he wins game.
It's embarrassing enough to be clapped in the tournament, and then the cameraman puts the cherry on top
17:07 finally some honest opinion of league!
Uh, feel so good to hear that...
To those who do not know, Ryu got his revenge but it isn't as popular as his defeat. T1 organize an event for Faker and Ryu to have a friendly 1v1 matches. Ryu got his redemption and you can see the video on T1's channel.
last time I was this early Ryu was still playing professionally
As a both Dota and League Player I kinda understand what you're saying about the skills and whats happening in the game but they're both beautiful in their own way. Also Respect for both players even if its Ryu or Faker 'cause it is really hard to be in that stage being watched by thousands of people.
I cant even play well with just my brother watching me.
at the end of the day... players are human too😊
Dimitri pretty much explains my understanding about League gameplay at the end LOL
I watched it live, back in the days :D
Thanks for the video
Every time this channel releases a lol video, they always include Ryu lmao
ryu: here we go again
This video is actual fanservice
Most of the comments don't understand this. They all cry.
im really glad u made this video
New Title Name: The Story of Ryu: How getting shit on changed a persons career for the worse
They're both incredible midlaners/players! That's all that matters at the end :)
That big smile on the face @4:22 and it turn into something weird in less than 1 second.
Just like an old saying; One man's utopia is another man's dystopia
Ambition is like the parallel of Ryu
Both got crushed by Faker when they are hyped as strong midlaners
Both disappeared for a while
It is just... that Ryu never manage to get his revenge while Ambition managed to do it
Ryu's face definitely didn't show dejection. It showed "are you fucking kidding me right now?"
Watching this really gave me goosebumps since i was watching skt after they win their very 1st worlds
NGL, the whole play made me a fan of Ryu. When I heard that Ryu was going to join H2K with a few players I already liked i remember myself actually like watching the games live (usually i always rely on vods cause i am bad with schedules) unfortunately it was not going to be that way forever.
I'm pretty sure theScore esports putting the clip in every video is what turned him into the face of Esports failure
Ryu: Try to assassinate faker
Faker: I'm about to end this man's whole carreer
Faker: I'm the best mid laner
Ryu: Faker, What was that ? -___-
Famous moments but doesn't mention Evo moment 37.
SMH
Also Wombo Combo!
Somewhat funny and interesting behind story in that duel is that both sides had Shen holding ults but neither used it. Insec said the reason he didn't use his Shen ult was because Ryu said he is going to win the fight so he didn't need it. Impact said that he thought Faker would die anyway even with Shen ult so he didn't use it.
faker play was so savage he ruined the mans entire career literally
14:51 WAIT, I DIDNT KNOW THAT XDDD
Ok after what, I've watch feel inspired by ryu that what ever happens never give up on your dreams🖤
i never understood why this clip has been so insanely hyped up, it was pretty well played on both parts, but no1 seems to realize faker was up 2 lvls and who knows how many items, hell i doubt ryu even had a QSS while faker had one, how unfair is that?
I swear to god I wanna punch the caster's face who said "if you don't know Ryu, google yada yada" u r supposed to cast the game not embarrass or even underestimate the players. Even tho if a game turns shit for a team, still doesn't mean laughing at their failure is fine.
Me and my friends do joke around if someone gets outplayed cause why not, but at this rate Ryu just gets the "yeah this guy is the guy who failed" because he happens to do a bad play against Faker, who turns out to be one of the best if not the best Player like ever.
"Look at the cleanse, Look at the moves"
"Google Ryu Vs. Faker, Zed Zed, Crazy crazy"
Competitive Games is just full of outplays, toxicity and fun keeping the game alive, i mean, those memes, those clips, makes people still play the game, hoping they can do those crazy plays....
You know it's a classic since Score was still playing bot.
And of course, Faker slaying Ryu
They finally made a video about this lmao!
as a rocket league esports fan - the squishy ceiling shot was great.. but jstn's "this is rocket league" would have been much better fitting
In a Alternate universe Ryuu he wins that Zed Moment and become the most popular League of legends Player ever
"Face of Esports Failure"
Dramatic much?
Now a W+E + 3 autos + Electrocute kills anything squishy, which is an overkill in most cases. The one shot fiesta that league has become.
Dimitri is my favourite narrator! He is clearly not the biggest fan of league, but he can make it sound like it's the most important thing in the world. XD
I've been hearing "Faker! what was that??" for the past 5-8 years it's like living inside my head.
Like they say in Korea, Ryu dies every 5 minutes meaning someone somewhere is talking about or watching it every 5 minutes. Edit: Nvm They said it in the video and its 5 seconds lull.
I love that practically no one realises that faker after making this memorable play, dies to tower like a coop vs ai player moments after
That was just Faker BMing Ryu, showing that all Ryu had to do was land very little damage to kill him.
You could do a simular vid about „kev1n“
He is the Olaf in THE xPeke play...
