- Finally the Champion !
Lance uses a great team for this round: Salamence , Garchomp , Altaria , Charizard , Gyarados and Dragonite , all with great movesets to take down any opponent .
This one gave me a little more challenge , like I expected - Ampharos and Lapras went down , but they did what I expected before dying . Lastly , my Dragonite with Dragon Dance+Outrage combo is ... brutal :D
Next , I'll start hunting the Legendary Pokémon's: Ho-Oh , Articuno , Moltres , Raikou , Entei and Mewtwo . Keep tuned !

@@mainman3476 everyone calls him easy but who genuienly came prepared on first playthrough, it was at least 3-4 resets when i first played
Lance’s Salamence has a strategy; he has the move Rest and holds a Lum Berry. When he uses Rest, he gets back up to full health and the Lum Berry wakes him up immediately. This would be OP if the Lum Berry was reusable.
I'd rather having his Mence wear a C.BAND or a C.SCARF, just like in BW2, where most trainer specially champions on challenge mode use the very best items.
Around 5 years ago when I first played Soul Silver, I was able to defeat Red, but the Lance rematch was something I can never beat.

Okay Lance, while I’m happy you aren’t using three Dragonites anymore, did you really have to go and import two other pseudo-legendaries you can’t even get in Johto or Kanto?!
I mean, those two pseudo-legendaries were dragons. Is Lance really going to say no to dragons? That's probably why he also picked up an Altaria while he was at it. And I'd be willing to bet that if he ever went around to other regions he'd be nabbing any and every dragon he could find (thus explaining BW2 where he now gets to play with a Hydreigon and a Haxorus, not to mention a Kingdra and a Flygon as well).
Just be thankful we haven't seen the day where Champions start using legendaries. You know how many Dragon-type legendaries there are? Imagine Lance with Mega Rayquaza.
He's a Champion (or important character in general), they can break the rules.

I still hate that he breaks rules, but there is a way to get both of them in Johto, but it’s extremely roundabout. If you go to the Safari Zone after beating the game you can place blocks. Place enough of the right kind of blocks in the right area and you can get Gible and Bagon or Shelgon. That’s how I got my Salamence in SoulSilver. There’s a serebii page on the safari zone with all that info.
I love it personally. This is the first time he feels like a dragon master instead of a master of Dragonite and non dragon flying types.

The reason he stayed in with Ampharos is because he knew that if he switched into Lapras, Garchomp would have been more than capable of knocking it out in 2 hits at that point

+Kemo_Meme You catch the Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage before your 7th gym battle, at least in GS (I don't know about HGSS). Gyarados got a bit weaker in the 4th gen but I have no problems with Waterfall, Ice Fang, and Giga Impact.

These games had a shit level curve. Johto was also underlevelled as fuck, my least favourite region. Platinum, BW and B2W2 are better imo. In this game training is just boringly long, low levels everywhere.
