- Continuing my revamp of the old in game ship guide to help you spend your space cash! This is episode 2/3 covering all the ships that are available to buy for aUEC - today we're looking at those ranging from 1m credits to 3.5m.

fun fact the freelancer max is considered a heavy freight with 120 scu while the constellation taurus is considered a medium freight with 174 scu

Supposedly, the Freelancer Max will be the largest small ship, so the heaviest freight of it's weight class. Where the constellation will be considered medium for jump point travel considations.

Even worse is the Raft, while larger than the Max, is listed as a light freighter. (Yea, I'm late. I know.)
@@evlkenevl2721 raft does only have 96 which is more than the 66 of mid freight freelancer but less than heavy freight freelancer max with 120

You could do some swift videos about personal weapons. Like a mini series on ballistics, laser and plasma covering from pistols to big boys. Since prices are fairly low you might focus on how/when/meta aspects of a certain gun. Same goes for armor. I've noticed people searching for cool ideas. Anyway great one. Keep it up!
Yeah I’m thinking of doing a bit of a run through of personal weapons and armor at some point to help people pick their loadouts - the FPS side is not getting enough attention ahead of 3.15 imo
@@LoudGuns which is odd as FPS is one of the main focuses of 3.15.

As for the Prospector, although it's small, I think it has one of the most immersive interiors.
I had a Taurus for a short time, and it's my favourite from the Constellation series, but I got a CCU to a Corsair.
Yeah I do like the prospector interior, feels like something you could logically stay out in for a decent stretch. Also think the Corsair’s going to kick some serious ass!
Great video thank you! Just been getting into SC over the past month and this sort of content is exactly the help I need. Started with a 100i as my pledge, then bought the Cutlass Black, and then an Arrow with upgrades for Bounty hunting, then just now bought the Raft as I start hauling cargo. The Razor EX is supposed to be a stealth recon ship. "Outfitted with signature-reducing materials, the RAZOR-EX was a specialty build for the UEE Advocacy for use in surveillance and extraction operations".
@zz I don't know who writes the particular descriptors, but I don't think they even know what the ships look like in some cases. They don't do research on the ships and get stats and other info wrong ... unprepared.

The Taurus also has those nice S4 gimbled weapons and a tons of missiles. I'm using mine for combat missions :D. Also, it has a shielded cargo zone for not so legal stuff and a tractor beam turret! This one will be really useful to... *AHEM*... rescue cargo floating in space ;)
Haha - that good old “legitimate salvage” line :D Yeah the Taurus has a lot going for it that make it a pretty versatile ship, I was interested to see if it would compete with the MAX from a pure cargo standpoint but on that side I think I’d still prefer the max, but I still think the Taurus is worth it for what it is.

@@LoudGuns I’m really feeling the cyberpunk / matrix vibes from Drake and the lore surrounding their reputation is cool. If the derelict sites turn out as beautiful as the seem I’ll want a drake salvage ship. That concept one I saw has my attention. Once hacking is live I’m going to want a mercury.

As to the Razor variants:
- The base (blue) model is the standard Racer variant.
- The white model is the Luxury variant but also also more competent in it's Yaw/Roll/Pitch values (at least on paper)
- The black model is the stealth "military" variant with a lower base signature and slight EM/IR/CS signature reduction. Only calling it "military" because I'd say it's somewhat of a "competitor" to the Hornet Ghost if you'd rather impress your mom by looking special ops than actually being special ops. (it's worse in most aspects to the Ghost except for maneuverability and EM signature.

The Herald is currently the fastest ship out of Orison.
And a note the hoplite has 6 passenger seats.

As someone coming from elite and brand spanking new all these ship choices is almost overwhelming. I'm used to being held to a very small amount of ships lol.

Fun fact, the Esperia Blade is clearly designed after the Cylon fighter ships from Battlestar Galactica remake. Cool alien looking spaceship.
Yeah SC clearly leans heavily on some sci-fi classics. While the Scorpius is most commonly called an x-wing I'd actually say it's got more Battlestar Galactica vibes.
Both the Eclipse and Hurricane are on my next to buy list.
Solid choices - I absolutely love the Eclipse’s cockpit.

Yeah that’d be a pretty cool one actually. Just 6 scu or so but with enough firepower to hold off an attacker, would let you do low key runs of valuable or sensitive cargo.

At the moment i do have the Andromeda, black, mole, titan for real cash, and a few others still not in game but it is a good start after a wipe.

The Sabre does have 4 size 3 hard points, not 3. Still took a huge hit from those 2 shield generators. If you see one in PVE, it's almost already dead. What the Hurricane has too much, it has too little of
I watched this back and clearly got too tongue tied - 3 mistakes counted so far! Sabre hard points, Hoplite drop seats and Caterpillar price - facepalm. Yeah it’s a shame I feel the Sabre was in a good place for people getting into combat - it could be outclassed by players with a higher skill level but provided a good learning experience for mid level players.
@@LoudGuns to be fair, you are going over all the ships, so a couple of mistakes isn't that bad.
I had just worked my way up to the Saber when they sliced the shields. It's way too large a target to have the same shields as a Gladius. A single size 2 like the Cutlass would make more sense. I still love the looks and the handling!
If I can ask, is every main station (I mean olisar, huston etc.) Have different quests and is there more quests than you get in first hours of playing?
I just started, first session had about 4 quests total. Then the next day it seemed like a had about a dozen, than like tonight i had maybe 8 so i think it just varies ive been around the same area. Maybe just timed.
I think they updated the Cutlass Red so the Medbay are just lvl 1 now.

I’m contemplating buying Star Citizen, so should I? I love games like NMS, E:D, etc. I’m close to buying the game, but I was wondering if someone could help me out. Nice video, by the way. These ships are super cool.
Hey mate. I’d say the really big thing is how you feel about early access / in-development games. I think there’s plenty of potential to have a great time in SC, and it’s a far meatier game now than even a year ago but (bit but) it’s poorly optimised, bugs are frequent, and the actual gameplay there is is more limited than what’s envisaged and vs something like ED (we’re in one system).
Edit: if you go for it start with just a starter pack and see what you think (don’t dive in with two feet). If you can wait there are fairly frequent free fly events if you create an account - best way really is to try it out for free for a week or so.

thank you very much from a person looking into getting the game and not having a clue . 1 thing I would like to know about ships that say min 2 etc can you fly it on your own ? or do you have to have someone else as knowing me I'll would have to start off solo untill I get the grips with the game and the fact none of my friends are looking at this type of game i would find it hard to someone to play with..

Good point Brian - overall I’d say a lot of ships with turrets are made a lot better by having an extra player but in most cases it’s not essential. Take a look on the website erkul.games (it’s the best place to look at loadouts) and see how much or the ships dps is split between pilot control and the turrets - a ship like the Gladius only has pilot controlled weaponry (perfect solo since no other option), a cutlass black loses about a 3rd of its dps potential (2/6 size 3 weapons controlled by turret gunner), whereas the hurricane which is very dependent on its turret loses approx 2/3rds of its potential dps (finally we could move on to the hammerhead which is hopeless to solo since the pilot controls no guns and relies on the 6x turret gunners to output any damage at all).
That pretty much covers the combat angle - from a traders perspective pretty much all cargo ships can fly solo but you cut your risk if you’ve got a mate to man the turrets / stay at the controls while you load up the goods. For miners the prospector is the most comfortable solo mining option, but the mole is doable if a bit cumbersome and riskier.

I've been using it a lot for UGF missions in the PTU. I think it might be my ship of choice when the wipe happens considering I had the Harbinger before... though I might consider the Sent as well if that one handles any better
Is 8gigs of ram enough to play this game?
I’m not entirely sure of the min specs, but honestly my pc has been falling over a bit recently with it and that’s with 16gb. My best advice would be create an account and get in on the free fly that’s currently running. Spawn at Lorville or Area 18 to start with (New Babbage is extra challenging with the expo and Orison is the most demanding LZ) - then go from there without putting any money in until you’re happy it runs.
its funny how the price on the website dosent translate to the ingame price.
Yeah there’s some definite discrepancies, it particularly highlights how bad value certain vehicles (all the ground vehicles for instance) are. That said certain ships / vehicles might have further barriers to getting them in the future (might be reputation locked etc) as opposed to just UEC.
