    ...e ancora una volta hai fatto centro con questo bellissimo testo...grazie per aver postato questa ballata che non ascoltavo da tempo..un tuffo nel passato quando,superato il timore della guerra fredda e la minaccia di un conflitto nucleare e caduti vari regimi autoritari, la pace sembrava a portata di mano... ma come dice Cardarelli "il mio destino è vivere balenando in burrasca "...ciao

    Great live version, although this song it's absolutely not about "real" walls.

    • @mikecig7490

      To say it's not about the Berlin Wall ( in part ) is foolish .. The fall of the Berlin Wall meant so much to so many people in the UK.. Family members that Hundreds of thousands of people hadn't been allowed to see for what must have seemed an eternity finally came to an end.. Brothers sisters , lovers , Kids and parents peeking through cracks in the wall to get a glimpse of their loved ones. Know your band , know your history.

      The building and the fall of Berlin Wall is a hell of a fact, indeed, there shall not be discussion about that. Earlier works of the band discussed issues related to that, we're all aware. What I meant was that the walls he talks about in this particular song are the ones within ourselves, from my point of view. The Division Bell constitues a conceitual work, and the current theme present on the other songs is isolation, individual and psycolhogic isolation.

      @mikecig7490 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe any of the members of the band touched on that when they were interviewed..
      Interesting individualistic point of view of what the song means to you though based off of the band members etc I just don't think it fits..
      Now if you had hinted at a hidden message being present having to do with a fallen band member , I'ld bite ..... I could see it , just don't think it's as cryptic as you're letting on ..

      Again, NOT trying to troll you in any way.. You chose the word ABSOLUTE .... By definition , what exactly would that mean in the context of your statement ? Wouldn't that mean you had irrefutable proof and evidence that all other theories including the band members OWN ACCOUNTS and INTERVIEWS were just plain bollocks ?

    • @thiagoideas
      @thiagoideas 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Cig Ok, maybe I was too hyperbolic in the sentence. I do not have that kind of proof in that sense. It was a statement that sounded appropriate at the moment, in the light of personal conclusions that came out of the research I was doing about the Enigma Publius thing at the time, which I believe it might be a substancial matter, related to the concept/theme of the album. We all know it was a REAL thing, and we also know that David, or Richard or anyone involved in the album composition or recording spoke openly about it in any situations. This is similar to some Beatles songs that appeared to talk about superficial things (soft concepts that were confirmed in interviews with the band members as well, though a lot of people knew it was not it at all) when actually they traversed exceptional or even transcendental themes. But, who knows... maybe I'm just too non-sceptic. Oh, and I know you're not trying to troll me here.
