    Thanks for the video. Couldn't be better. With this clear explanation I feel capable of changing spark plugs and coils to my Mustang, saving taking it to the mechanic. Please make videos like this one. Teach us how to make fast fixes to common needs or problem of our car.

    Thanks for the video......I'm a Brit in the UK and have an MG ZT V8 which were built with this exact same engine under the hood, i've got a new set of high performance coil packs to fit - after watching this, i think i'm confident in getting the job done now!

    Excellent video. Not that difficult. Very easy to follow. The 4.6V engine is not the prettiest, but the engine will last a long time if taken care properly.

    I just bought a 2002 Mustang GT. With less than 300 miles that I've put on it the service engine light came on. I was told it's a cylinder 8 misfire and it could be the spark plug or the ignition coil. I went ahead and bought both. I'm determined to learn how to work on this car myself. I've watched this video multiple times. I think I'm confident enough to give it a shot.

    heres my story on my 99 gt mustang. been getting check eng light for misfire plugs 3&7 the eng code would clear its self no problems for some time then..going home the other day lost a cylinder got home check the code number #3. changed the plug and coil on 3 changed the plug on 7. found 6 blew out of the hole bingo the problem right( 35k miles on the plugs.) around town driving after the repair check eng light #3 again pulled the plug back out checked it put it back ran great for 5 min or so. i spark tested #3 with a jig set up with a used coil and a newspark plug work great. tested the new coil and spark plug weak spark. the new coil was not making good contact with the spark plug. CHECK THE NEW PLUGS AND COILS BEFORE YOU PUT THEM IN.. ALL MY PARTS WERE FORD MOTORCRAFT..

Like the difference between betting money on arm wrestling vs arm wrestling your 15 year old nephew?🤣

  • @chicagowsox212
    @chicagowsox212 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The only problems I see are:
    A.) you SHOULD NOT start the new spark plugs with the socket. That's a good way to cross thread them in. If u do that, you will need new heads! Instead, take the ratchet off and if you have to, u can still use the extensions but that will still be ok to finger tighten them. It's harder to cross thread them that way.
    And
    B.) ALWAYS torque bolts, spark plugs, etc. take some money u saved doing the work yourself and buy a good click type torque wrench. They're like $75 at Sears

    • @chicagowsox212
      @chicagowsox212 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, around the 15 minute mark he is rocking the ratchet to break the old plugs loose. U should avoid that! It's an easy way to break em off.

    • @gsc2835
      @gsc2835 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You dont need a torque wrench to do this the manual only says that so you dont end up over tightening them and crush the the threads but if your mindful while doing it like he was you will be ok just a slightly snug is enough

    • @jdigitalseven7
      @jdigitalseven7 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Andrew Bright Cold air intakes are gimmicks. Stock setup has cold air coming from passenger side fender....not under hood. Been tested over and over and over again. Just looks cooler. Only induced air, intake manifolds, and cams make real power upgrades.

    • @1deadly187
      @1deadly187 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      While it is true that the stock setup also pulls cool air from the fender well, the downside or "restriction" lies in the small air horn that it pulls the air through in order to quiet the engine for the majority of original buyers who wouldn't want a necessarily "loud" sounding intake. Hence aftermarket cold air intakes have more air flow, this has also been proven.
