This is the cheapest mud motor kit on Amazon with a built predator 212 and 7" propeller. 15mph top speed with this prop pushing a 1448v weldbilt jon boat.
@@anthonykontos7931I bought the “7.5hp outboard motor kit (not included machine)” sold by “ng nopteg” on Amazon. It’s currently listed at $162 plus $25 shipping. I modified the mount that comes with the kit, but mudskipper sells a traditional style transom mount for ~ $50. A selection of long tail prop sizes - I ordered 6.5” 7”, and 7.5”. 7” seems the best all around (will vary with size and weight of boat). Only loses 1-2 mph top speed but is easier for the engine to handle at or near idle. The engine is a non-hemi predator 212 from harbor freight.
I made this mount from the H shaped one that you’re seeing on Amazon. Just welded it to a couple steel c clamps with square stock for reinforcement. Quick and dirty but works.
I'm trying to decide between a jetjon and something like this for running up some shallow rock bottom creeks. Which one would be better?
Personally I'd take a jet Jon on rocks.
Like the exhaust, it quite it down any?
Thanks, it’s a lot quieter than a straight pipe. Still not quiet, but a lot more manageable.
@@TheDuke539do you have a material list that what you bought I’ve wanted to build one but wasn’t sure what to buy

The propellers also came from mudskipper.

Did you have to drill and tap the props? If so what is the tap size?
Yes, M16x2.0.
