Really great video! As a PSP 2000 owner in 2005 and having 3 PSPs in my collection, adding a PSP Go would be a fun addition to my everyday carry. Keep up the awesome work!
I really enjoyed this, i agree with everything you have to say about the PSP GO. It really is such a nice handheld to own, i also use mine as a music player and it is indeed particularly good for that and surprisingly modern. There was one huge thing you forgot to mention though, the ability to connect a dual shock 3 to the console makes it the greatest PSP IMO.
bro the thing about the sony personal devices is that, idk they just hit different like nowadays companies dont make devices like those now, i have a nothing phone right now but i still miss the 3.5 mm jack on those old devices, i never got a chance to play on psp go but i have had my fair share of psp on ppsspp seeing u play on the psp go just brings back that nostalgia man.
Hello. In the PSP era, I didn't have one. So I bought a used PSP Go a couple of years ago. I think it's worth mentioning that unlike the other models, sliding the screen can cause the flex to fail over time (similar to what always ended up happening with the Xperia Play, but to a lesser extent in the Go).
I still use my God of War edition PSP 2000. It's gotten far more use as an emulator device and portable PS1 than anything. I have the analogue pocket, and in many ways a PSP with CFW is still better. Recently played through the entirety of Castlevania SotN on it flawlessly. The original batteries on these things hold up great for their age too. I think Sony shot themselves in the foot by locking down the Vita so much. With unrestricted access, it would be the absolute uncontested champion in this category, and probably would have had more sales from people like us.
Hey, thanks for this video. Super helpful for anyone getting into the PSP Go since the store is closed now. Can I ask what song you were using around 6:25?
PSPGo is probably my favourite PSP because of that incredible form factor/size. However for me the biggest issue is not storage but battery life. If you're lucky and playing light games with low screen brightness, you can get a 3-4 hours out of it. But on average, with 333mhz clock speed, playing something like GTA or THUG2, its usually less than 2 hours.
It's possible to mod in a bigger battery into a PSP Go if you solder the original battery's connector onto the new one. With the stock rear plate, you can fit a 1300mAh 803048 battery that lasts around an extra hour of battery life on average. With the thicker Power Armour plate, you can fit a 4500mAh battery that apparently lasts over 20 hours.
I still have my original 1000 from high school, but when I saw someone playing on a PSP Go in one of the break rooms when I was in the military, I went out of my way to find one. Ended up getting one used in 2010 for around $90. Instantly fell in love with it. Better battery life, nicer screen, bluetooth support... I bought the (now very expensive) dock and component video cables at around the same time. My PSP Go was stuck to my hip for most of my twenties and I used it as a portable and docked PS1 and PSP. I bought so many games through the PS Store. I still use it now, thanks to the SD card adapter and I thankfully never have to swap M2 memory cards again. The PSP is just such an amazing system and I'm glad there are still groups out there that give it love. I played so many RPGs and strategy games on it. And Peace Walker... one of the greatest games ever released on a portable system!
@@KingASE88 It's basically just a power and A/V passthrough for the Go. You can even plug in a regular PSP charger and the component cables, and you'll never have to worry about battery life while playing.
I would argue in favor of the Steam Deck but the Emustation app no longer loads and I'm about to reset my deck just to get it back. P.S.- I enjoyed this video, found it informative, and appreciate your points regarding why this would be a great first device for younglings.
Thank you for your tutorial to add ps1 games to psp, finally i can play twisted metal 1-4 and vigilante series on the go,i hate using emulator on my phone because it take alot of storage if i add all my library ps1 to my phone, one again thank you and great video
Can you drop a reliable link for the m2 expansion card? I don’t mind paying up some extra cash to the og hardware and I also really don’t wanna open up my psp like you did. Thanks!
I got me the PSP GO so I could play Outrun 2006. RIDGE RACER 2 got me hooked. I also installed old console favorites like Hydro Thunder and all the standard emulators ;) prices on these things are rising quick!
Great video. I have PSP GO and PSP VITA , but have done nothing with them ... I need to hack them so can play these games. Can you recommend a tutorial on how to hack. Many thanks
Sometimes I think I should get into these... but a normal phone these days is like 50 times more powerful and up to date so it kind of loses it's point?
50 times more power doesn't necessarily mean you'll have an experience 50 times better, if you tried it you'd quickly understand what makes owning it appealing

Amazing video!! Will prolly get a PSP Go and follow the memory expansion from this video.

PS Vita easily turn into a PSP & emulate way more systems for almost the exact same cost of a PSP go
No matter the case, the vita is just a big boy. This psp go is smaller than any other PlayStation portable device
But does it slide up tho?
But the vita has exposed sticks, is less portable, and doesn't have that bomb-proof early 2000s slider phone aesthetic and build
The go does all the vita does only thing vita gots is it plays vita games but be honest there's not to many good games on it
A vita is around 80 120 usd on Venezuela, i got my PSP Go for 30

this video goes directly to my psp go, I loved it

Liked and subscribed! Thanks for the video.
Nice video and aesthetic camera shots, one other candidate of a video must be that thinkpad you have with the middle mouse ball xD

Happy to help. That song is from gran turismo 3, it’s the arcade mode song
@@KingASE88 thanks so much dude!

That’s an amazing story. How does the dock work I’ve been super curious about those

its an awesome MP3 player! it also works with modern day BT headphones as BT is backwards compatible!
liked and subbed!! super dope vid
Generation Alpha and Beta will never know this thing
It’s unfortunate
Anyone know how the ps1 converter works with multidisk games? Ive been dying to replay The Legend of Dragoon and would love to play it on the go.
I think you can select multiple iso files for multi disk games. I’d recommend downloading it and looking around the software

i need some more tips and help with replacing the backlight fuse on my two Go's

What about a PS Vita , do you have one ?
How to play ps vita games on PSP go ?
I wish the play store would comeback 🙏
I’m watching this video and I’m like holy shit is this guy me?
Nice video but the mic noise made it hard to watch, I suggest you either use some sort of denoiser/noise gate, or invest 50 quid in a new mic 💪🏻
Thanks for letting me know. I already have a nice xlr mic all I gotta do is fiddle with my input gain on my audio interface
Great video. I have PSP GO and PSP VITA , but have done nothing with them ... I need to hack them so can play these games. Can you recommend a tutorial on how to hack. Many thanks
Does memory stick only work with a modded pspgo? Or does it work on a normal unmodded psp go?
Sometimes I think I should get into these... but a normal phone these days is like 50 times more powerful and up to date so it kind of loses it's point?
Nothing like playing with real buttons. Also, the games pause as soon as you close the screen, it’s real slick. Find a PSP GO while you still can.
50 times more power doesn't necessarily mean you'll have an experience 50 times better, if you tried it you'd quickly understand what makes owning it appealing
what keeps me from using the PSP go is that i can't claw grip it to play Monster Hunter T__T
Love design of psp go,its my dream console, but this model is too expensive for me
(
My Psp Go don't let me sign it and all my games deleted and pictures anyone know what's happening barely pulled this out the closet it been a long one
Need to sign in to it again just mod it bro its so easy these days it takes 5 minutes.
i need me one, always wanted one
Damn i,ve never even these lol.
these shots are better than casey neistat

USE GOD DAMN NOISE CANCELLER 3 minutes in any soft!!!!11111111
I gotchu in the future thanks for brining it to my attention
ngl, that bump is NOT worth it, i’d rather deal with 16
Yo u got any socials I can dm u on? I’m tryna get this thinkpad but idk if it’s worth the price
