The eggs aren't in the fridge because they haven't been washed and still have the natural protective barrier that is present when laid. In the US, the eggs are washed, and once washed, they must be refrigerated.
@topjack800 The best place to store eggs is the fridge, as it maintains a constant temp. Temperature fluctuations increase the risk of salmonella, etc, significantly. The Climate in which you live and the seasons are relevant too. Typically in England we kept eggs in the fridge, definitely in the fridge here in Australia.

Hannah , we love black pudding in FRance , When we went to the UK In Jersey, They had a waitrose coffe machine . You can get a free coffe with your my waitrose card. We did not see one in your clip. The fancy London shops did look nice,
Laduree was a slice of heaven for those of us who adore good marketing. The macaron god was certainly in the details there. Thanks as always for your wonderful video, such a delight to stroll with you.
As an American, I thought the prices were very reasonable for most of the food shops you went in. And a much greater variety in a short walking distance. I would love to shop at a Waitrose. The only thing that looked better missing is the huge variety of produce we have (I live in California so am very spoiled).
Come on! California isnt all that, huge variety BUT little taste , and thats generelly speaking for the US.Looking good produce yeah, but taste is a different story....
@@MehecskekutatoDepends where you live. I live in Northern CA and the food in wine country is outstanding. Frankly the food from San Francisco through Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties is fantastic. Serious foodie destinations everywhere with tons of locally made products and very highly rated restaurants.
1 stick of Kerrygold butter is $4.27 at my local grocery store. A heat & eat meal starts at $7.99 depending on what's in it. That luxury store is what normal grocery stores(and Walmart) charge in the United States. I live in the South so farmer's markets are popular this time of year. Food here has gotten so expensive.
Salaries are significantly less in the UK as well. In general salaries are 55% less than in the US. Many single people live in co-housing in London ( sharing a flat), so this makes London more affordable, something most people post-college are less likely to do.
This is another awesome day of shopping at the grocery store with the amazing Hannah and this why I really enjoy your videos have a beautiful week and thank you my friend Hannah.🇬🇧💞🇬🇧
Loved this trip down memory lane (Australian who lived in London for 5 years). Re your comment wondering why Granger & Co restaurant so popular. Bill Granger was a very well-known Australian chef (I immediately thought Australian run when you mentioned avocado toast 😆). He had restaurants in Australia, London, South Korea, United States and Japan as well as published cookbooks. Sadly Bill passed away Christmas Day last year aged only 54. Recommend you try his food so you understand the “hype” and queues to his restaurants.
That's interesting info about Bill Granger, I had no idea!.. I do enjoy reading all of the comments after following one of Hannah' vlogs ... there are so many like minded people here.
I have my Waitrose delivered every 10 days to my home and I spend around £200. I love their produce and I do get deals too. I love their fresh salads and sushi. ❤🎉
I also like to do grocery deliveries and shops at Waitrose. I plan my meals and prepare them to eat. So, that I always have something on the go. I also freeze meals. A few things: • Buying whole fresh fruits and vegetables helps to be cost effective. • The meat deal of 3 for £12 comes very much in handy! • Buy a whole chicken and roast it! You can have so many different meals with different parts of the chicken. 😋 • Their tinned olives are great as a snack, in salads or on pizza. • Their fine pasta and pizza flour is the best flour I’ve ever used in my life. • If I ever buy pre-cut or pre-cooked foods, I find they last a long time and are in good condition when used! • As Hannah said, their Essential Waitrose range is very good! I don’t fault the quality of any of it. • They’re the only supermarket chain that offers pre-cut Soffrito!! It helps because of my fibromyalgia. I love to add it to sauces, soups stews! • They’re the only ones who offer frozen chopped shallots!! I find Hannah’s shop was quite expensive due to all the pre-made and pre-cut foods. However, I fussed it was expensive when seeing her shop. Given that she bought loads of drinks, sushi and the karaage bowel, it was pretty decent! I say it loudly: Waitrose is actually quite reasonably priced when shopping smart and has very good quality.
Happy Tuesday, Hannah! I’ve never seen you look scruffy in the slightest. You did look relaxed and comfortable though. Loved seeing Laduree, Daylesford, and Waitrose. I shop for groceries in a similar manner…I definitely am willing to pay a bit more for better quality. And I also shop multiple places with no particular loyalty to any of them. I’ll join you in taking a miss on the black pudding. Semi-skimmed is the equivalent of American 1-2% milk and zero alcohol things are becoming more and more common and available here. Have a wonderful week! See you Friday!
Fun vlog👍 Getting to see what the stores in London look like, and what the prices are like. Liberty fabrics, what a beautiful store. I like when you go into the different boutiques.
I live in the US and I find that prices can be all over the place. One store I like which tends to be on the pricey side has great sales and with the loyalty card you can get even better sales. Now Walmart is supposed to be on the lower end which I find is not true. Some are cheaper the rest the same proce as other stores or even higher, plus I find their fresh produce and meat horrible. It all comes down to knowing what you want and where you can get the best deal
The US gov requires eggs to be washed in a way that makes them spoil quicker if not refrigerated, so they're legally required to be in refrigerators in stores.
i love this type of vlogs and i have to agree, i don't think prizes on food and overall living cost is too expensive in London especially compared to everyday living cost in Sweden. Hi Hannah , a month ago my husband and I lived in London for a month there was a Waitrose right down the block we went almost every other day . I loved there lemon curd yogurt. I had 1 almost every day . There marinara sauce was one of the best we have had and a perfect size in the refrigerator section . I miss it . I really enjoy your vlogs it really feels like I am walking and shopping with a friend and for you to make us all feel that way almost 200,000 people is amazing because we are all different. This because you act like yourself a very likable person . Please do not change the way you do your vlogs . We went to some of the places in your vlogs when we where in London and they helped me to recognize some places like I had already been there . I kept telling my husband, Hannah was there . Could you do a vlog of West Hamsted. I loved it there and I know you like Italian food there is a restaurant there called Bella Luna that was so good we went there 4 times . I live in the USA Have a great week
I agree with your Waitrose thoughts - have always loved Waitrose and JL and they aren’t always as pricy as people think (especially with the offers). I’ve noticed the difference between the Essential range and the ‘normal’ range is negligible - it’s just rebranding sometimes. The staff are always lovely and if you shop online their replacement and return policies are more than fair…
You didn’t ask me to dm you on Telegram did you? I got a notification claiming to be you do to do it? I don’t have Telegram but think it sounds a bit suspicious….. I tried to dm you on Instagram but cant see you anymore? I sent a msg about a Disney login welcome screen to some friends and added you and LR Dreaming in case you hadn’t seen it. Did you see that ? Sorry if I overstepped in anyway btw - just thought I’d send it in case you hadn’t seen it. The Telegram thing is a bit weird - maybe just be aware in case there’s a scam our something.
Last year I travelled from the US and rented a flat in Kensington for a week. There was a Waitrose a few blocks away and I loved shopping there. Was fun to see it again.
Wonderful! Another excellent Video! So interesting! I loved seeing the unique small Shops & Cafes. As well as shopping at Waitrose. So many great food & beverage items to choose from. Great store.Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you!
Hannah, your vlog is 💯/💯!!! The food shops as the Waitrose supermarket are amazing! I always like vlogs like this. Well, here in Brazil, we have a lot of super and hyper market chains. I usually go to a supermarket called "Extra", or to another one called "Assaí. And, every time I go, it reminds me of your vlogs, and it's always so cool to compare the prices and the products to those ones you show in your videos. Wish you a wonderful tuesday! 🙂💐🌹🌺🌻🌷
Hi Hannah just had lunch watching all that delicious food has made me hungry , oh well I can wait till supper . Thanks for sharing, see you again Friday .
I came across this channel completely by accident. I'm very glad I did! I used to live in England and remember Waitrose very well. I'll certainly be watching more of your videos!
Laduree looked amazing, as I sat here at home with an Instant Coffee & a KitKat. 3 main Supermarkets in Australia: Coles, Woolworths & Aldi, plus smaller IGAs & Foodworks Coles is getting a nice selection of ready made meals & pre- prepared food.
I shop online (most on scheduled subscription - food & nonfood) and have my groceries delivered. Helped me stick to my list and budget, and during post-op time when I couldn’t lift heavy loads.
Hi Hannah love this format walk about in out shops…yes l like Waitrose and M&S foods…love their ready meals…now I can cook and I grow my own vegetables and herbs…great fun this vlog well done…and back to start no you don’t look scruffy will never happen enjoyed take care ❤
You make me (finally) want to go back to England to visit my sister-in-law in Lea on Sea and take the train into London for the day. This is the longest best since we've been, since 2018!
I grew up in New Zealand and live in Australia. I quite often watch the British cooking channel 'Sorted' so it is really interesting seeing the supermarkets on top of that.
I really, really envy you the low prices on this quality food and that’s comparing to Swedish food prices 😢 Food prices has skyrocketed and to compensate I no longer buy all organic and started eating more unhealthy…..very sad, love to do som UK shopping 🎉❤
I’m with you, love Waitrose. Good quality, and if you buy the low cost basics and limit the fancy treats, I find the price pretty comparable. Thanks for showing us all the other lovely little shops too!😊
Lovely video; enjoyed it very much. I shop in Florida, USA at Publix supermarket. Our prices are significantly higher than what you’ve just shown us. A lot more expensive.
Hi Hannah, thank you, that was fun! My treat, here in British Columbia, is to head into the countryside and buy from roadside stands. Always expensive that way but I love buying from farms and orchards and wherever local food is grown, when I want a bit of something special. 🥰
Oh my gosh Hannah, thank you for taking me to Laduree...right down my street! The Organics...love it! My gosh, I agree that all the streets should be like the ones you're taking us down now....what a lovely experience that would be! I laughed when you said "oh, stone in, can't be bothered with that"...oh, I agree!
When we traveled to London multiple times, we’d find local shops like the Italian store or Waitrose and buy several items to take back to our hotel for dinner. It was far cheaper than eating in restaurants, as well as more relaxing and healthy. I’d rather spend more of our travel budget on a decent hotel versus restaurants, so I really love your food shopping videos. The little markets with fresh fruit displayed outside are so lovely and we don’t really have those in the US. Yes, try the Kerry Gold salted butter - delicious!
The key with a high priced grocery store is that the produce is always really good quality, which is one of the most important parts of my weekly grocery list. Its the specialty items that get you, although there are some reasonably priced items if you look. Non-alcoholic beer actually has a good amount of nutrition and is a decent running recovery drink for electrolytes.

Also, I am sure that it takes quite a while to edit your 2 vogs per week, so Thank You Hannah for ALL your time & effort in making your fantastic vlogs! I look forward to seeing you again this Friday, & in the meantime, have a great week Hannah! Be Safe!!!
We do the French styled black pudding in the Caribbean. I love it sauteed with aromatics and hot peppers.
Yup, Waitrose. My fave. And if you go out of town, the different branches have even better produce as everything's local. Bath is a lovely branch.
I cannot get enough of Harrod’s …thanks for sharing😊
I live in the USA
Have a great week
Love the shopping vlogs Hannah. Never apologize for being who you are. Absolutely lovely!
Hi Hannah, same here go in-store for 3 items and come out with a basket full! Have a great week.
Last year I travelled from the US and rented a flat in Kensington for a week. There was a Waitrose a few blocks away and I loved shopping there. Was fun to see it again.
Love going virtual shopping with you Hannah have a a nice evening ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
That airpod incident was hysterical! I would be giggling too😊
Yes please, to giant black pudding slices!!
This is another awesome video love shopping with you
Hannah …………..but you forgot the free beverage with a Waitrose card……! 😊❤
A must 😂
Wonderful! Another excellent Video! So interesting! I loved seeing the unique small Shops & Cafes. As well as shopping at Waitrose. So many great food & beverage items to choose from. Great store.Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you!
The shade of blue in the cloth was beautiful…
M&S is my go-to supermarket for quality food but also love waitrose too.
Nice and relaxing window shopping with you!
Your videos are always so awesome thank you Hannah. ❤
The street your were on is beautiful. Thank you for taking us on this trip.
The food vlogs are my favorite!
The shops there are so beautiful and enticing!
Love love love these videos Hannah❤❤❤
Nice tour ❤ I imagine the regular customers get their groceries delivered and never set foot inside.
Yes exactly that’s right .
loved it all,so hungry now, till next time...
Never anything wrong with Livin La Vida Loca Hannah ; )
I grew up in New Zealand and live in Australia. I quite often watch the British cooking channel 'Sorted' so it is really interesting seeing the supermarkets on top of that.
Love grocery shopping when I’m in UK. That scanner system is amazing.
I really, really envy you the low prices on this quality food and that’s comparing to Swedish food prices 😢 Food prices has skyrocketed and to compensate I no longer buy all organic and started eating more unhealthy…..very sad, love to do som UK shopping 🎉❤
American here and, for the quality, Waitrose looks very reasonable, inexpensive even 🙂. Thanks for your vids!
I’m with you, love Waitrose. Good quality, and if you buy the low cost basics and limit the fancy treats, I find the price pretty comparable. Thanks for showing us all the other lovely little shops too!😊
London has a special place in my heart,it was the last holiday trip with my dad before he passed, back in '06.
Que genial todoooooo 🫶🏻🫶🏻. Muchas gracias!
Lovely video; enjoyed it very much. I shop in Florida, USA at Publix supermarket. Our prices are significantly higher than what you’ve just shown us. A lot more expensive.
Black pudding is totally gorg, love it. Mix it in mash and have black pudding mash with lamb shank and gravy . Fab
Waitrose no1 brand is the best. They brought out a new cornish sea salted caramel brittle ice cream not too long ago and it is soooo indulgent 🤤
Sounds yummy!
Hi Hannah, thank you, that was fun! My treat, here in British Columbia, is to head into the countryside and buy from roadside stands. Always expensive that way but I love buying from farms and orchards and wherever local food is grown, when I want a bit of something special. 🥰
Denim shacket looks great on you! Thank you for yet another wonderful vlog 😊
I liked the video! Keep them coming. Just love your shopping videos, and I agree, Waitrose is my favorite
