If you can source waste oil or fat from the fast food industry or other sectors, it's very economical to make your own Diesel fuel - sometimes referred to as Bio-diesel, depending on the origin of the raw materials.
You will of course require some equipment and purchasing of other chemicals, but overall the fuel is very cheap to make.

If that were my excavator, I might looking into welding some brackets onto my front roll bars and get a steel screen made to fit it that I could take on and off. My goal being to try and protect myself from any flying debris from my brush cutter. It never ceases to amaze me the weird angles they throw stuff back at you.

A wise man told me a long time ago... "Son, when you plant your garden, plant 3 times what you think you'll need.
    1/3 for yourself.
    1/3 to share.
    1/3 for the birds!!😅

    • @mstrdiver
      @mstrdiver 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

My grandmother used to say something similar, and I just took it at face value until grandpa pulled me aside one day to explain about the birds. When she spoke of them, she referred to friends living in town that didn't have room for a garden, no kids or grandkids around to help, so she had plenty to share with them.
Let me explain about her 'little' garden. It was like a double Amish kitchen garden of four acres planted mostly by hand. Fortunately, she had old friends that would come by to till whatever land she needed turned, I'd collect fishing worms and then the planting stated. There were times I got so sick planting in the spring, weeding till harvest then picking and bagging [reusing paper bags from Piggy Wiggly] zucchini, tomatoes. squash, etc. We'd put them all in her old Rambler wagon and off to town we drove several times to distribute veggies and get more used bags as there were never enough on hand.
My mind changed though when we started picking green beans because not many of those were given away or went to waste with me around. I love me some green beans! It was canning time along with the recipe trading! All that from your three-line gardening reminder and great memories of grandma! Thanks so much!

Then get the biggest fuel tank you can justify, refuel it yourself with your transfer tank, that way, you can still use the refuelling service, but not necessarily rely on them. Love the videos, thanks for posting, you’re definitely one of the channels I keep on high rotation.

As far as your PTO shaft sliding joint binding goes, we used to use lanolin grease on most sliding couplers. If they bind up, a quick warm up with a blow torch always worked.
A battery heat gun will do the job now. A downside of lanolin is that, as a natural oil, it's quite temperature sensitive and gets stiff at anything below 16C.
Edit: Your new brushcutter sounds interesting as it spins up.

I have( 2) 100 gal tanks 1 for gas 1 for diesel. When I go to town and fill up my gas truck I take 4 5gal cans with me 2 diesel, 2 gas. It cost the first time you get both tanks filled. But after you get your main tanks filled. See what fuel you use the most. Then just keep an eye on your level. Since I go to town often. I use gas more. Now I don't have a fuel delivery and this saves me money.
My 100 gal tanks cost about 4-500 I got one from rural king the other from Bains. Hand operated pumps tractor supply about 150 each.
So far it's been very handy. And since I go to town anyway and fill . For me its no time at all . I use those battery operated pumps from harbor freight about 10.00. Well hope this helps out for you.
From the west coast of Tennessee have a nice day.

Afternoon Nathan I've had my pto drive shaft seize also, mostly on the bush hog mower in real heavy stuff, found it help by changing the pto lever to wheels instead of engine (if your tractor will do that) and when I back up it would help to loosen the shaft, New shafts when you cut them to size need to also bevel the inside and outside to eliminate burrs and use Graphite, anti seize Ams oil or just good red grease when putting back together. Great looking garden, wast that craft paper you placed down? Show is never boring I learn new stuff from you. Have a great week! John

does, may be due to a vacuum lock situation. Maybe, drilling an

help. That would allow air to enter the tube, as you pull the two apart. 😁✌🖖

Nathan, I grew up on a ranch here in South Texas, in addition to the assortment of tractors we had 2 bulldozers, a D-8 and D-9 Caterpillars. So when we needed fuel, we needed a lot. We had a 5000 gallon tank st our implement barn and a 500 gallon trailer mounted tank for taking it into the pastures. You might be better served getting a trailer mounted tank to service your various implements.

Nathan, I think ( "I think") it's about time for a 200 Gallon, on site,
diesel tank, with delivery. It will save you, now and in the future, a lot
of time and fuel, running back and forth, to fill your little tanks. You
have a lot of and will, no doubt, get more diesel equipment.😁✌🖖

I just use whatever grease I have in the grease gun. grease lasts longer than any spray on gunk.

Yeah, you some never sees and paint it on there and maybe a little grease would help you. We always grease ours, but we’re typical farmers with grease everything.

Putting food on the table can be boring until you have no food. Then it becomes essential. It's better to deal with it before it becomes a problem. Nathan, if you bore me I'll be sure to let you know. In I don't know how many years of watching you it has yet to happen. If you hurt my feelings I'll get over it. 😀

I've had great luck using Rust Patrol as a lubricant/protectant on outdoor metal stuff - like the quick connect handles on my tractor's loader. They slide almost too easily now - when I'm changing attachments, sometimes the handles will start to close themselves before I'm ready for them to!
It's a little pricey, but it works really well.
    Take care and God Bless.
