  • So in 2023, I want lighting that sync’s with my TV’s display, works with the latest gen consoles, is tailored to my TV’s size & is compatible with 8K.
    And Lytmi’s latest…Fantasy 3 Kit not only does this, but is the first-ever sync box that supports 4K @ 120 & 8K @ 60 via HDMI 2.1.
    But is it the Best TV Sync Box? To answer this we’ll, unbox, set it up, discuss the Pro’s and Con’s & compare it with Govee’s latest.. AI Gaming Sync box.

      The Fantasy 3 is nice and bright with 72 LED’s per metre, compared to 60 on the Govee AI. The Govee has better colour saturation, but because of the lack of brightness it looks a little dull 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Excelent video mate, subscribed. I have a question If I decided tu use VRR it just won’t work or I can use a steady light mode and still get VRR. Also can be used on native tv apps on steady light mode? Thanks in advance

      Thanks BlackAnji, appreciate it. Yep you can use a steady light mode at any time (for full VRR or when using Native Apps)
      So just run the HDMI cord directly from your PS5, Xbox etc straight to the TV for full HDR, VRR, ALLM etc. or just use the Nativ Apps with the Lytmi box on and a static colour selected

      It doesn't currently support ARC/eARC, you can get around this by:
      1 - using an optical connection for you audio. Just plug the digital optical out from the tv to av receiver and set your avr and tv to dig/opti option.
      2 - Alternatively if you have an AVR then here is a link with the 2 options Lytmi recommends...

    Can i do a DIY to make these things, the lytmi or the govee, also control other lights (on the walls, under the sofa, in the bathroom, so that everything matches what you see on the tv) or the only option for that is the hue?

    • @frostfire_mage
      @frostfire_mage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope you need to use the lights provided with the Sync Box, the Lytmi F3 works with the Lytmi lightbars as well. But Govee has Dreamview meaning you can sync up 10 additional Govee light products (excluding the light bars) 👍🏻

    If I install the 90 inch strip to a 98 inch tv that would make the strip 4 inches offset in from the corners. Will the leds still be bright enough to get the same effect?

    • @frostfire_mage
      @frostfire_mage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Option 1 - Install closer to middle of TV & have the TV mounted slightly further from the wall
      - May be less bright overall, but still sufficient.
      Option 2 - Install closer to top and bottom edges, which means gap on corners, TV mounted as usual
      - May be less bright on corners.
      If either doesn’t work that well, you can always return them.
      I would give it a go … if I was in your shoes.

    Do you do the 4K120hz hack with the Govee sync box ran through a HDMI 2.1 splitter?

    • @frostfire_mage
      @frostfire_mage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can do it but it comes at a cost... an expensive splitter (not sure this is worth it... a hack job tbh)
      Set-up
      a) HDMI 1 OUT on the splitter goes to your TV;
      b) HDMI 2 OUT on the splitter goes to the Govee AI box (with Scaler setting ON - which toggles to 1080p)

    • @frostfire_mage

      Unfortunately no, as the device which is streaming / running the particular app (Netflix, Disney+., Prime) needs to be connected via one of the HDMI IN ports. That said... this is a relatively minor issue as long as you have a PS5, Xbox, Apple TV, Laptop etc which you can play the app through. Let's hope they can get running natively in the future.

      Although the box can look cool, it is a bit of a gimmick. The Govee AI box light strips only have 60 LED's per metre which means it's not as bright as the Lytmi. That said I do feel both of these products need some love... in order to be value for money propositions for consumers.

      Hey Michael, I had issues with brightness and colour matching when HDR was enabled on the PS5, especially when displaying "Red". When using in SDR I found it much brighter and the colours matched better. It also helps to have your TV mounted and closer to the wall, for a more intense light projection.

      If using a console… the games use of 4K @ 120 hz is limited. So at the moment It's better to pick up the Govee AI for better saturation and colour accuracy for 4K 30hz & 60hz gaming.. For the longer term Lytmi are working to improve their software with HDR fixes for the PS5, it’s also future proofed for upcoming 4K 120hz content. Short term - Govee AI, Longer term - Lytmi F3.

  • @ceehumps
    @ceehumps 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Expect the vast majority of games on console to be 4k/30 with ray tracing and HDR on filled with tons of motion blur. Console gamers love that cinematic aspect.
    I mean think about it...if a 10900k and a 3080ti can't do 4k/60 or 4k/120 across the board, what makes you think a console can? It simply doesn't have the GPU horsepower for pushing 60fps+ consistently at 4k.
    I only see them doing 4k/60 with non-demanding titles like COD or FIFA, racing games like GT7 or fighting games like Tekken. I expect 120fps in e-sports titles like Rocket League, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege. Either at 1080p or 1440p only.
    And who knows if they will be using native 4k. It could be all checkerboard rendering again or AI upscaling with the new RDNA2 architecture and who knows how good that's gonna be when compared to Nvidia's DLSS 2.0. Nvidia is pushing hard for AI upscaling and I think they will do it better than AMD. You'd be better off hooking up a high end pc to the Lytmi

    • @frostfire_mage
      @frostfire_mage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's difficult to disagree with you, the longer the PS5 and Xbox series X era goes on, the more I'm disappointed by what was promised vs delivered on the games use of tech and the "so called" capabilities of these consoles. It's also why at the moment It's probably better to pick up the Govee AI for better saturation and colour accuracy for 4K 30 & 60 related gaming.. That said I have assurances from Lytmi that are working to improve their software with Fantasy 3, with HDR for the PS5 and other external devices
