I’m 31 and highly considering my CDL at least B.. always been intrigued by the career of running loads, it’s an honest blue collar living that pays well enough to support a family. I’ve always worked construction but have been very interested in driving even more so, as of recent. Thanks for the Vlogs, giving a peak at some things to expect. Hey i just was watching your channel and im new to your channel , i love the construction work and love driving trucks , I'm driving truck and operating equipment for our state D.O.H for 10 1/2 yrs if i may ask where are you located at me and my dad had a small construction business he retired and i had to give it up because I couldn't find anyone to work every day , but keep up the awesome work i enjoy your videos
Nice video. U seem like a real cool dude. I'm an overhead just got my cdl b license. With restrictions. Automatic. I paid out of pocket for my training. Failed the road test in a 10 speed manual twice but the third time I took it in an automatic and passed. I decided to make a career change after 22 years working in a warehouse. Then Covid HIT and changed everything. I didn't particularly care how things were handled at my job and how we were treated while the big bosses stayed home. We all came in to work and we all got infected with Covid. I didn't know I had it and infected my family. I lost my dad to covid back in January 2021. It was then I knew I had to make a change. So in April 2023 I got my CDL B. I'm looking for work still every place wants experience but I have a friend that drives a dump for a small business owner fleet of 25. I'm just nervous cause it's been a few weeks since I've been behind the wheel of a truck and I'm afraid I might mess up when they take me out on a road test. I just turned 51 big guy...I hope the boss has enough patience with new drivers as you!

I know how situations get rough in life, but there is a man who has conquered this world, and I'll tell you that in Him you will have everything that you need. His name is Jesus and His plan for you is greater than anything! If it's God's will for you to get with that company then it will happen. Just seek Him by reading His word and let it change your life. There's no need to be nervous, have confidence in God and in what you read in His Word, and pray and ask Him to guide you in what you should do. He will never leave you alone if you ask Him for forgiveness of your sins and ask Him to be the Lord of your life (if you haven't already done so).
I work for my county in Road and Bridge getting my CDL. It's a rural county so a lot of rock dumps. I will be taking my 3 tests next week. Can't wait. Like you I have wanted to do this for years! Thank you!
Can you make a video about the day u went in for an Interview and if they made u do an air brake test, in cab, engine inspection? Do places make you do an air brake test before they hire you? Please help.
It would be a pretty short video in my case, the company I'm with didn't do any tests after hiring me on. It really does depend on the company you get with. They just had me ride along with other drivers until a truck became available for me to drive.
How did you learn to fully operate all of the dump truck stuff like how to dump correctly? How to make sure your on level ground before you dump did you go to school for this?

You could get some experience working for a company that runs dump trucks. Easiest way to get a job is go there and ask for one. The worse they can say is no.
Don’t judge me but when everybody said you drove a dump truck, I used to think they was talking about the garbage truck🥲 and then I finally found out what a dump truck was like a week ago🤣 but the whole time I was like woooow I didn’t know you needed to go to school to drive the trash truck😭 I’m so sry😂😭

When you get loaded and unloaded don’t you have to get a ticket from someone, to know if you actually doing work so you can get paid
This company has us write out load count sheets to keep track of what's being hauled. Quarries give out tickets when we get loads from them
