Ive owned both, neither quite as customized as these, both are extremely capable machines. Never got stuck with either one once. If I had t chose one over the other I'd pick the FJ but only because I like the body style better. That's the only reason. Tomorrow I might pick the jeep for the removable top. You can't go wrong with either, the only thing I'd say is to watch for frame rust, Ive owned two jeeps and have had some rust issues. No rust on my FJ or Forerunner. These models are very special to me- pick one and no regrets

Me too. I have a 2007 FJ for many years.. only brake pads and tire rotation and one wheel bearing LOL.. bought a 2019 rubicon JL.. nothing but problems..,recalls,manifold leaks,loose castle nuts..front ends balls joints..only lasted 3months and bought a 2020 cummins 2500, same shit. went back to toyota! daily driver, beater full throttle wisdomer with no problems...trust me

Same here, owner a 2017 wrangler with 30k miles and random things kept breaking (windshield wiper motors random shit like that which was tedious to fix.) Have a 120k mileage 2008 trail teams FJ and really prefer the FJ. You can feel the quality when you drive these things. Jeep always had a weird issue

It's just that 15 years from now, the Toyota will still have many years in it. I'm not so sure about other brands. That's why Toyotas in third world countries have such high resale value.

Pretty easy. The Jeep is far more capable of extreme courses. I would assume the FJ is too but them again wouldnt know. But the dislikes are for the obvious that this was gonna push one or.both of these vehicles. I think the person conducting the test new his vehicles limitations so he only chose stuff he knew it could do, and you know the Jeep will do it all so easy way to call it a tie. Pretty obvious
Fj s are definitely Toyota reliable,
however the Jeeps v6 penstar motor is a super impressive 280 hp.
I had one in a Promaster work van...

Both cars have pretty similar capabilities; I’m leaning toward Toyota because from the mechanical perspective, I perceive it has higher quality and reliability. On the other hand, I prefer Jeep Wrangler look.

The only thing I see a modded FJ will have difficulty is rock crawling and going through deep ditches as shown with ILS. Nevertheless, it is a very good and solid rig. I love your FJ.

FJs are extremely good rock crawlers , I watched a std one (2020 model) still with its rubbish Dunlops from the showroom floor on , do a virgin grade 5 trail in the Kalahari Desert , loose rock all the way too . It performed faultlessly . A lot also has to do with the driver and tyre pressures . This car did not even have a bullbar or nudge bar on the front and had the Toyota tow hitch on it , it only scraped once . This track had impossible hairpin turns that required multiple turns to get around or else you ended up down the mountainside (of loose jagged rock) on your roof and possibly dead . The FJ was so far ahead of its time its not true .

That's a no brainer, FJ Cruiser will increase in value over time and become a collector item, whereas you'll be hard pressed to find someone to buy your used Jeep anytime soon, especially one that's been modified

They are still making it, in Japan... And they export to Latin America.. It's very popular... I already buy the FJ 2018.

Сделайт опять на мин 30-40 батл, я бы еще глянул на 4runner вместе с ними как и пикапы от форд. Но тут губа не дура)). Для меня круче тойоты нету, если речь идет о надежности автомабиля и качестве его сборки. Возможно это мое субективное мнение, но тойота не конкурент вранглеру на бездорожье, да она может практически тоже самое, но рубикону это дается гораздо легче. Рубикон именно сделан для этого, Крузер с такими же каклесами как у Рубика выглядит словно гибрит какой-то, когда джип очень естественно словно он таким с конвеера сошол.... Но я бы выбрал 4runner всеровно))) спс за видео
С батлами конечно постараюсь, самому очень это интересно) А мой выбор такой же, только Тойота, Jeep безусловно звезда бездорожья, но только бездорожья, а Тойота, это качество, надежность, баланс, гармония))))

Can’t beat a wranglers off-road capability. IFS truly begins to struggle when going over more serious obstacles compared to a solid front axle.
Ohh it really depends on how deep your pocket is for that. I've seen some ultra 4's with IFS make tough stuff look like a piece of cake

What is the score in Longevity, reliability and economy?
Jeep and FJ are both good for longevity. 3.6 and 4.0 V6's are both bullet proof and very long lasting, both are reliable. As with economy both are thirsty as a camel in the desert 😂
If that FJ had front axle like the jeep with lockers back and front I’d take the FJ!

A solid front axle is better. They are stronger and have a lot better articulation. If the took the Jeep and FJ rock crawling the Toyota would have one wheel on the ground and the other in the air. The Toyota would also be more porn to roll over in a off-camber situation. I've seen this happen.
Don't you think if ifs was truly better it would have been competition to Jeep instead they quit making it for a reason.

This was no test for either vehicle but, in stock form the jeep would win because it has f/r lockers. Put them in the rocks and on some hill climbs and see. I would still choose the fj and install a front locker myself.

The atrac in the fj works pretty well at simulating a locker. Besides being the better built more reliable vehicle the fj rides on road so much better with the ifs but jeep will always be superior offroad because of the front live axel and having a sway bar disconnect just adds to its offroad ability. I’ve had both these vehicles but I still own the fj.
