❤️ Jimin, since age 11-12 studied, performed, & competed (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (which he excelled in), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Busan Just Dance Academy, where an instructor at one point, even waived the costly tuition fee for him, because he was that good! This was while he was still going go middle school, where he joined the football team, excelled in track, awesome at basketball, amazing at pool/billiards, even ping pong & bowling! Haha! He then started studying & performing contemporary dance. The media even called Jimin "The Rising Star of Busan" in an article, after seeing him perform at a huge festival concert. Jimin also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending the Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin was class president for 9 yrs, getting perfect scores in everything, but especially math, science, & art class (amazing at drawing & calligraphy)! Jimin received an offer to dance overseas but turned it down, because he also wanted to perform as a singer as well as dance, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors, who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!
Jimin, since a little boy, after seeing the character Zoro from the anime One Piece, decided that he wanted to be the greatest swordsman in the world (even then he had to be the best at whatever he did), so Jimin trained in Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo). Jimin trained for 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts including Taekwondo, achieving a blackbelt, Hapkido, Kumdo, & Chinese discipline. Jimin even went to China, being the only on in class winning a scholarship, to train more extensively. All his martial arts training has given Jimin his phenomenal inner core strength as well as amazing flexibility that allows him to be able to do even gravity defying moves that even some professional dancers aren't able to do! Jimin has been able to incorporate all the various forms of dance styles as well as his extensive yrs of martial arts into his extraordinarily outstanding dancing abilities in his own unique style. Using his body as an interpretation of the music itself, conveying all the feelings & emotions the music is trying to convey. Just like he does vocally as well!
There's a reason why BigHit Entertainment (company BTS signed with) officially gave Jimin the title of both Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist.!! Jimin won the title of King of Kpop, as well as won now two yrs in a row the title of #1 Best Top Dancer in Kpop! Jimin is referred to as the rookie bible. Known for his spectacularly mesmerizing stage presence as well, as amazing vocal & dance, rookie idols look to try to emulate and learn from him. He's also known for his work ethics & for being an extreme perfectionist, going in to the practice room for hours at a time, just like he does in the studio when creating a new song!! I remember a dancer explaining how his martial arts, contemporary, and hip-hop background all made his dance style completely unique and his own because Jimin's style was both sensual and hard at the same time (I'm not a dancer so I don't know the exact terms lol). I don't remember how long ago it was or the title of the video, all I know is that it was a white, english-speaking woman who complimented the hell out of Jimin!

Jimin's versatility is easily the best I've ever seen period. The way he's able to execute and perfect so many different styles of dance just shows how crazy talented he is. It's so difficult for dancers to be able to cross over that way. In my years of seeing dancing, I've never seen another dancer like him.

Well, I'm not sure if you're serious about wanting to know more about Jimin's dance history, but here's a few links if you are (and I guess others may not have seen these) lol
While attending Yonsan Middle School in his hometown of Busan, Jimin also attended the Just Dance Academy on weekends where he learned Popping and Locking. This first video is from the "Busan City Kids" dance showcase on Feb. 06, 2011 (he's the one all in black).

Many people think that he stopped going to the Just Dance Academy when he began high school but that is not true. He continued to attend Just Dance Academy on weekends all the way up until he became a trainee at BigHit in May 2012.
What I personally find the most impressive however is the fact that, while learning dance and going to school, he also earned his Dan Belt in Taekwondo!

It’s great to hear your dancer’s point of views & glad that you have noticed his natural gifted to understand the music & instinctively changes his dance movements to matches the emotions of the music & convey those feelings through his dance movements so naturally.
Jimin is a amazingly gifted dancer who is perfectionist & always work extremely hard to achieve better performances.
And for your request, first here is the brief biography from Wikipedia & more detailed information about Jimin’s dance background which are gathered from various interview footages & his pre-debuted dance videos from his friends & teachers.
Early life and education
Park Ji-min (Korean: 박지민) was born on October 13, 1995 in Geumjeong District, Busan, South Korea.[2] His immediate family includes mother, father, and a younger brother. When he was a child, he attended Busan's Hodong Elementary School and Yonsan Middle School.[3] During middle school, he attended Just Dance Academy and learned popping and locking dance.[4] Prior to becoming a trainee, Jimin studied contemporary dance at Busan High School of Arts and was a top student in the modern dance department.[5] After a teacher suggested he audition with an entertainment company, it led him to Big Hit Entertainment. Once he passed the auditions in 2012, he transferred to Korean Arts High School, graduating in 2014.[6] Jimin is currently enrolled at Global Cyber University.[7]

1)Jimin has started learning a dance with Popping & locking from when he was at Middle school in 2nd grade( 14 years old-Korean age 15 : we counted ages from mother’s womb). We are not sure when he has stopped exactly but he has learned about 1 & half ~2 years at least.
2)Jimin has studied contemporary dance for only 6 months (from 3rd grade middle school) & accepted into Busan high school of art( one of top 5 Art high school in Korea) as the top student of whole freshman & the top at dance department.(This is really big deal because In Korea, in order for you to accept in to these special Art high school, students would usually study their major-like dance, music, acting etc- least 3-8years & take an exam of their major & still couldn’t get in!)
3)Jimin has studied contemporary dance, ballet & Korean traditional dance for 1 & half years at Busan high school of Art until he has auditioned in BigHit entertainment & accepted as trainee. At middle of 2en grade in high school, he has to move to Seoul in order to start training at BigHit.
4)Jimin was sent to China for 1 week for by his high school learning program for gifted students. This training course is usually available for 3rd grade but Jimin was the only freshman got into this program.
5)Young Jimin has learned & has earned black belt which is highest level & also learned for 7years(age 6-12).
6)May, 2012 at the age of 17(K:18), Jimin has started the life of BH trainee & focus on learning Hiphop dance which is vastly different from contemporary dance. He was struggling for a while but he worked extremely hard(practically living in practice room, sleeping 2-3 hours a day & still attending school as well.
Even at school, he was always in practice room during the break. He was pushing himself too hard that he often ended up having his nose bleeding & BTS older members has advised him to take it easy “Jimin, if you keep push yourself like that, you might end up dead. So please, eat something & sleep!”

Being an ARMY for almost 5 years makes me feel very proud. During old days they showcase heir individual talents a lot. You can search a guide from Suga and Spice.. You can watch videos in there and watch a lot of Bangtan Episodes... In their concert they have individual showcase for they're talents..

Imo, Jimin is the most versatile dancer in BTS.
Jimin's live performances are where it's at. Especially LIE. Look for that and SERENDIPITY. There are few videos of these available. His musicality is so beautiful and emotionally fulfilling. You won't be disappointed. You should also check out and react to HOBI in BTS' Boy Meets Evil. His skills are showcased so well in this solo. Borahae 💜

Lie is beautiful performed live (that was what he was practicing with the cameraman) and the serendipity compilation is extremely well edited, flawless transitions, so you see. The whole performance plus his consistency. PS aloe is about his past negative self talk and that tortured feel transmits in his live.

Please do hope's updated dance compilation video and Jungkook's too their all such great dancers in their own right....though I think all of BTS are good dancers I mean I couldn't do BTS choreography no way no how.
Because he has a "softer' face than some (NEOTEN is a gene that makes Asians appear softer) & a smaller build (tho he's 5'8"-avg in Korea) & they know he's smart (IQ=128) & he's graceful yet powerful, but many underestimate his incredible physical skills, incl. dance, martial arts, sports, games, etc⤵

Great reaction!! If you want to look into other groups I suggest the girl group LOONA! They are a newer group that debuted in late 2018 after a unique predebut process however are known for their incredible dances. I suggest watching their dance practice so their songs 'butterfly' 'so what' 'colors' and 'satellite', LOONA are also known for doing amazing dance covers of other groups so if you want to check those out they have covered 'BTS- Fire' 'NCT- Cherry bomb' 'got7 eclipse' which show the many different styles these girls can do!
The girls recently preformed on a show called Immortal songs and covered the song 'love battery' by Hong Jin Young, the girls said they learnt the dance in one day before having to preform it!
