    To anyone commenting regarding no driving footage
    Look, my reasons for not including it are because it’s just so much quicker not too. Plain and simple. And Most the time I don’t have my cameras on me atm. Driving is easy. (And mostly boring in my book)
    To me the interesting part is the places I go and the loads I collect and deliver. How I strap it down and so on So that is what I’m concentrating on. It also means that on weekends, I have less to edit and can spend more time with my family.
    Whilst I fully understand that some people may find it a “downgrade” or “poor quality” that’s absolutely fine. You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion. Should you decide to stick around I’ll be very great full.
    If you don’t want to watch then thats fine also. 🤙🏻
    Thank you to those of you who appreciate the hard work that goes in none the less .

      It's your channel, you can do whatever you want with it. I personally like watching truck driving, and I think that's probably why many watch your channel. I think you're in danger of getting angry and irritated with the very people who make up the numbers, alienating them and losing the views. But who cares what people think eh

    • @thedustbinstudio2309
      @thedustbinstudio2309 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean, it was a truck driving channel, you attracted views from people who wanted to watch truck driving. Turning around to those people and saying truck driving is boring, I'm not filming it, you should appreciate the work I put in regardless, does seem a little tone deaf.

      Hi Luke, I have been looking forward to this Vlog for a while, but I have to say I miss the driving, it gives your truck Vlog the right feel for what is a trucking Vlog. You really are in risk of making your channel a loading, unloading, Tomtom and strapping channel. Best wishes, a one time HGV Class 1.

      Exactly Luke. What your showing in this video is the technical side of the job, the unloading and loading and how the industry works behind the scenes. What do people expect just s#*t loads of driving footage? Stuff that we’ve all seen before. I’m class 1 same as you and I could do that just stick my go pro on the screen and post hours of driving footage. Your showing the other side of the job. Luke it’s your channel, your content, your editing and you put out what you like mate. If people don’t like it they don’t have to watch it do they? For anyone aspiring to be a truck driver videos like this are educational.🙂👍🏻

    I enjoy your content, interesting and informative. Although I have had a varied driving career so far, there is still a lot for me to learn, and that is what I enjoy about watching your channel and others on TH-cam, I have learnt a lot from the content you post. I am hoping in the near future to get my channel up and running and show those that are interested what I am doing. I only have a few videos on my channel at the moment, but watching your stuff gives me some ideas! Keep up the good work and look forward to the next one!

    Hi luke brilliant video mate it nice to see you film again. can I ask you a question? I,m studying for my HQV theory test. and wanted to know is when you have been driving for 4 hours 30 min do you have to take the full 45 mins break or can you sprit it in to two breaks? so you can clear it for a another 4 hours 30 mins drive also when you are waiting to be loaded or unloaded do you put it on to break?

    • @heinz551
      @heinz551 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After 4hr 30 of driving you need to have had 45 minutes of rest before you can drive again. So if you haven't had any other rest until this point it must be 45 minutes uninterupted. Breaks can be split but the second must be at least 30 minutes. However, as I say if after 4hr 30 of driving you've had no rest it has to be 45 minutes uninterrupted. You need to have a break of 30 minutes after 6hrs work or 45 minutes after 4hr 30min driving whichever comes first.
      If you are doing NO work yourself during the loading/unloading period (like sitting on an RDC loading bay) you can pop the tacho on break. But you must NOT carry out any work during this time, not even opening a trailer curtain or a ratchet strap.
      I hope this helps you. Good luck with your tests and new career!

    Your comments on cyclists in London are so true. The majority of them lack basic road-craft, let alone defensive driving skills. Most of them are colour bind and don't recognise red/amber/green and suffer from a high level of self entitlement. Finally they are never wrong and the Evening Standard always reports Cyclist killed by Lorry when in reality it is the fault of the cyclist which as I point out to the journalist is the reason the Police very rarely prosecute a lorry driver when a cyclist is involved.

    Hey! Seems you’re getting a bit of crap for something that’s out of your control, maybe people need to read up on these new driving laws which aren’t only for car drivers. It’s illegal for ANY driver from touching any device which connects to Wi-Fi or satellite whilst driving, basically Luke would have to start his phone before he set off and he wouldn’t be allowed to touch that device again until he either stopped or his phone cut off. He did say right at the beginning of this vlog that he’d forgotten his cameras so there would be no footage of him driving.

    This not a criticism of you, more if drivers in general, and I know its a phrase but it bugs me when I hear drivers talk of "getting a break in" or similar. They should be valued as opposed to something that is being treated like a necessary evil. We do enough hours. Granted I myself left the general haulage world game a while ago to go for own account stuff so I'm not chasing my tail or doing 60hr weeks anymore, but I feel thus is something that's wrong with the industry and has been for a long time. I suspect many new passes having been seduced by the media purporting a shortage will soon cut and run once they find out exactly what being a lorry driver entails.

      Behave. Get 10 cyclists and 10 truck drivers. We will see how many break the Highway Code in a 5 minute period.
      Im not saying truck drivers are perfect. Some are complete idiots too. But. In my opinion, (of which I’m entitled) the worst offender on the roads are cyclists. This particular cyclists wasn’t paying attention. End of story. So busy looking down and peddling. He also wasn’t wearing a helmet.
      If it was any other type of motorist he would have been reported for driving without due care and attention but I bet nothing happens. He’ll get away with it. Just like he will when he crossed red lights, rides on the wrong side of the road, turns without signaling.
      It’s funny how cyclists want a one and a half meter gap when you over take (fine by the way) but if they end up going faster then you they’ll UNDERTAKE much closer.
      Lorry drivers need to take multiple exams and tests to get their licence. Again I’m not saying we’re all perfect because we’re not, but at least we’re scrutinised. Any muppet and jump on a bike 🚴
