thank you so much for sharing your essays! I was really struggling with letting my voice show through my writing! And by reading yours I now have a better idea!
Yesss this is great! I'm currently trying to figure out my essay for DU, which is basically "write a personal essay". I've read so many tips about what not to write about and so forth, but this really helped! Definitely going to look at your essays for help too. ETA: seeing your essays were super helpful! Now I actually kind of know how to start :)
Oh my god. Not only did your tips help me during college apps, but also during English class in college. Yesterday, my professor came up to me and asked if he could use my essay as a model essay for prospective students!!! Honestly, it was all because I carefully followed your tips and essays that you posted before I turned mine in. hehe
I'm so glad that I can rewatch these videos just for some advise while writing my personal statements.. I wish you can proofread them before the UC applications are open😓😅
Honestly, I feel it is necessary to thank you for allowing others to benefit from your success and hard work. I am just starting my college application process and to be able to have a guidance from someone like you. I will also share with all my friends who are interested. Much appreciated.
I read your essays... your writing is amazing! Could you do a video on how you got your writing so strong, or simply type what you have done to this comment? I really want to try to get an older vocabulary... thanks so much Katherine!
Thank you so much for the advices!! Could you plz make a video about summer researches base on what u know, and some more Ivy League oriented college advices:)
MyPreppyStyle well yay! I'm glad I commented! Also... I just found your channel and I LOVE IT. Your advice videos are such wonderful things. Thank you!!!
i did not! it's really not anything you should worry about--USC isn't insistent about their applicants getting interviews which is why it's kind of hard to arrange one
Thank you for clearing my college confusion. I really appreciate your videos, because it relieved some of my stress. I have been researching and came to a halt. I believe a diverse pool of majors is good just in case I choose to switch majors. But what should that diverse variety consist of? And how did you squeeze service hours into your schedule and how much is good enough?
Cythia Forest i think it means there should be liberal arts as well as engineering and business, communication, performing arts, etc. And i did service on the weekends! there's not a specific number I can give you!
could you post your essays? That would be so helpful. My English teacher passed away. She was so brilliant and I am at a loss. I have no idea who is going to review my essays.
where can i find sample essays online? not necessarily college app essays, but like lit analysis essays for school i searched online but couldnt find any stellar essays. maybe you have some websites? i love your videos, by the way. love the advice.
if i have my grammar correct, saying something hurt badly means that the action of hurting was done in a poor way instead of saying that the hurt was bad, if that makes sense
I'm working on my college apps right now, and I think this is the third time I've watched this video... My favorite tip you gave was about how you can write about lighthearted quirks because not everything has to be so deep and dramatic. That's what I've been working towards! I've had a hard time starting to write though (despite my love for English and writing, like you) because I'm so afraid of writing the wrong thing... any tips for that?
I watched pretty much all your videos. Im an aspiring business major and USC so happens to be my dream school. Just wanted to say that not all your viewers are girls xD hahah
I read your essays and they are so amazing. You gave great responses and used excellent grammar and vocabulary.

i did not! it's really not anything you should worry about--USC isn't insistent about their applicants getting interviews which is why it's kind of hard to arrange one
You applied to a lot of the Ivy league schools; I hope you get accepted! :)
"Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
I actually didn't apply to any ivies!
MyPreppyStyle My bad. I should have said high-ranking schools, or just schools that are quite selective in general. What do you intend to major in? :)

i don't know if there are any resources like that! and thanks
The common app is out now
Did anyone else see a hand touch the macbook at 6:36? LOL
At 5:20, why was it "bad" rather than "badly?" Is it not incorrect to use an adjective in place of an adverb?
if i have my grammar correct, saying something hurt badly means that the action of hurting was done in a poor way instead of saying that the hurt was bad, if that makes sense
So if you are a grammar nerd/expert do you check essays??
Could you pls share some of your essays? That would be really helpful :D
as soon as i figure out the best way to, i will!
MyPreppyStyle Use google docs & post the link in the d-box!

Hi I was wondering if you interviewed with USC? And any type of questions they asked?
Where are you from? You speak just like one of my friends from Toronto
