Not sure why you think he looks in his late 30's or early 40's, he looks fairly young to me, especially when you compare how he looks in the original MGS3. Let's also not forget, he's a soldier, people under high-stress situations tend to 'age' faster due to the stress on their bodies. A fair amount of your complaints honestly don't make sense. I'm glad and hope to god they *don't* fuck around with the cinematics or dialogues, I don't trust Konami not to fuck that up if they decide to make it different. A graphical overhaul is all I want out of this remake, with some hopefully good quality of life changes.
He's a 29-year-old man who saw wars. He smoked and drank, most likely didn't moisturise or do any kind of self-care. I think him looking older for his age is appropriate. He looks about 32/33 imo, but they don't typically smoke or drink where Jag is from so people probably look younger there. Here in Ireland a 30 year old looks 50, for obvious reasons lol At least that's my personal theory on why Jaguar is the only person saying Snake looks older. I do agree with him on most of his other criticisms though. I'm not hating on the roll, looks good enough to me, but it does look a little silly.
About adjusting the level design to balance out the TPP mechanics. Since there's quite a few people who believe they will be "ruining" Kojima and his team's levels, they could design the levels 1:1 but expand around them, in areas where it make sense to do so. We got climbing mechanics in both MGS3 (on trees) and TPP (wall cracks), and they could utilize those mechanics further to offer newly accessible paths that lead to carefully thought out, alternative routes that are optional. This leads to the player making the decision to follow the original pathing 1:1 (for those that want it), or explore the new areas. I feel it's a nice middle-ground solution, and I don't see any side complaining if they did that.
Ok, looks like some has leaked the release date of the game by accident. coming this year on November 17th 2024. so apparently it will be released during the holidays season.
what i understood from this is that legacy mode its just snake eater camera, and new mode its just subsistence free camera, with that in mind and the crouch walking im guessing its the 3ds version revamped
I wholeheartedly share your concern with the lack of balance such as we experienced with the upgraded style of Twin Snakes. I'm worried this game might be a bit arcady. But I know for a fact it'll still be an enjoyable experience at the very least. Since it's Unreal Engine 5, it'll be easier to mod and make those changes you stated. For a speedrunner, that information is irrelevant to you though. I cannot wait to watch your ghost run of this game and watch the many, many streams. And also my own experience, I hope to play the game as I did when I first jumped into the 2004 version, then slowly finetune my style for futher playthroughs. I hope the difficulty isn't broken due to the modernisation and it becomes too easy to play casually.
I don't see how the original game could be improved by adopting the phantom pain mechanics as long as the level design and enemy AI isn't improved accordingly. The gameplay areas in snake eater are rather small and many of the maneuvers you can do in phantom pain don't fit to those environments. Also I don't see how ultra detailed and realistic UE5 visuals should improve the original experience when dialogs and certain mechanics aren't adjusted accordingly either. Just imagine snake pulling out a rocket launcher out of a magic pocket or lying directly in front of a guard without being detected in UE5 4k visuals. I love snake eater but I'm a bit concerned

I'm worried there's gonna be nothing new.
The weird animations are part of the metal gear charm. Leave them as is!
I need to see boss in her sneaking suit! I love this already. Can’t wait to see the cobras, Eva, and ocelot I’m excited beyond belief
I hope there's no "Run" button like in MGSV.
i do
@@lordpookie Maybe on Very Easy then.

That's just a placement. Other game stores have different dates (like Amazon, Gamestop) that say it's coming on December 31st.

You do realize this is a metal gear game? It's only arcadey if the player plays it that way. I plan to pay this as stealthy as possible

Exactly. Thats the whole point of it.
Don’t worry nerds. Konami will find a way to add microtransactions
