    What exhaust do you have on your Mx5 Miata? Comment below along with your thoughts on it!

    That is definitely one of the best sounding naturally aspirated BPs I’ve ever heard.

      It’s not bad for an unopened BP! The best sounding naturally aspirated BP powered Miata still has to be Quinn’s high compression ITB NB. That car sounds incredible!
      Matchew we need to do an updated exhaust vid on your car with the TDO turbo manifold. I can’t believe how different it sounds now!

    I had been looking at getting this exhaust for a long time but could never find videos for it. Around the time this video came out I saw it and got super excited. Helped me make the decision to order it. The exhaust was put on back order because of parts shortages so I've come back to this video 2 or 3 times now. Found out the exhaust is finally in stock and it should be getting shipped soon, super stoked and thankful for your video helping me decide to get it.

    BR header, stock cat, RB mid, and RB dual on my NA. Got a deal on the dual, and love the look. I feel exactly the same about top up driving, can get to me on longer trips, but then again I almost never drive the Miata unless it's top down. Great job on the audio, I think that's the first exhaust video I have ever watched with little to no clipping!

      Your car sounds great too! It has a deep tone to it which I like. Audio is always tricky with exhaust videos. The only part I wasn’t happy about was the in-car go pro audio. I didn’t want to use a lav mic because I was trying to capture the sound of the cabin, but raw go pro audio is never great lol. Hope to see ya at the track soon Dave!

    Thanks for posting this! Been looking for sound clips on the race muffler version of this exhaust for a while. Quality video and audio as well.

      Thanks man! I’m still very happy with this exhaust. I think it may have gotten a little louder now that it’s broken in, but it still sounds great imo 👍

    That sound awesone man! On my NB2 i have a cobalt mid pipe with magna flow cat, cobalt axle back muffler and stock exhaust manifold. I heard good things about cobalts exhaust wanted to try it and have been super happy with it. Not much drone at all and louder when u want it to be. Dare i say it felt a little more peppy.

    • @DriveItRyan
      @DriveItRyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks dude! Yeah I’ve only heard good things about the Cobalt exhausts. Louder when you WANT it to be is the most ideal. I felt like the car got a little more pep in it’s step too haha so you aren’t crazy, or maybe we both are 🤪

    Cobalt ceramic coated headers 4,2,1. Magna flow down pipe w/resonator. Cat delete. All exhaust larger piping than stock. I think 2 1/2 inches? Magna flow definitely has that American sound. Not too raspy but rather it’s a deep base rumble. Got the jenvey individual throttle bodies coming soon. Plenty of induction noise in my future for sure

    • @DriveItRyan
      @DriveItRyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you like it more than the Racing Beat? It seems like a similar design, minus the resonator in the mid pipe. I’ve always loved the look of the RS Factory Stage N-Zero2 exhaust, but it’s a little pricey.

    Your car sounds great! RB does a good job of keeping the exhaust smooth and refined but with a good sound. I went with a stock header, FM mid pipe (with high flow cat) and a RB Power Pulse muffler. It shares the same mellowness as yours, but is quieter overall, I think.
    I’m debating the header just to get a little more of that full sound, but I don’t want to make it too loud. Any idea how much volume the header alone adds?

    • @DriveItRyan
      @DriveItRyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I couldn’t agree more with what you said about Racing Beat exhausts. They really do a good job refining the exhaust note.
      I went from stock to a full exhaust (header included) so it’s hard to say how much louder it makes it. My guess is that it changes the overall tone a bit but doesn’t add a significant decibel increase. I’d say go for it! I’m happy with mine, and if anything, it sure does look good!

  • @ricepony33

    Jackson Racing header, magnaflow high flow spun cat, racing beat resonated exhaust.

    • @DriveItRyan
      @DriveItRyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you like it? I’d be curious to compare the exhaust tone with the Jackson Racing header vs the Racing Beat header.

    • @ricepony33
      @ricepony33 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DriveItRyan I have driven both, they are very similar. I think the RB is superior and a bit smoother.

  • @adamg5563
    @adamg5563 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So that’s not actually the power pulse exhaust, it’s the RB race exhaust then. Sounds good. I wonder how the power pulse actually sounds in comparison. Why did you choose the race exhaust?

    • @DriveItRyan
      @DriveItRyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s a little confusing on the Racing Beat website but they have a “power pulse” midpipe with a resonator and a “sport” midpipe without a resonator. Then for the rear section, they have the oval “power pulse” muffler option or the round “race” muffler which is what this is. So with the resonated midpipe and race axle back, I think it is actually a “power pulse race exhaust”.
      I explained my reasoning in the install video, but basically I chose the race muffler because it’s lighter, sounds more aggressive, and looks WAY better imo.

    • @adamg5563
      @adamg5563 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DriveItRyan Ahh I see what you mean now. I am going to do the same setup but with the power pulse oval exhaust. Hopefully I end up happy with the decision. Thanks for the reply!

    I’m thinking of getting a power pulse exhaust for an NB Miata, would the axleback fit on a cobalt nb midpipe?

    • @DesertFox401
      @DesertFox401 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All I can find online is that the tip is 3.5” in diameter, ik the cobalt is 2.5”, but does anyone know if the placement matches for both and the diameters the same?

    • @DriveItRyan

    • @ricepony33
      @ricepony33 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ahwestlam stock cat helps. I’ve tried every combo and multiple exhausts, it’s just the frequency.
      The Goodwin racing Roadster sport 4 exhaust says it eliminates it. I question that slightly, the 3 was very loud with a stock cat and droned. Way too loud with a high flow cat.

    • @ahwestlam
      @ahwestlam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ricepony33 I'm running a FFS SC setup and the stock cat is robbing too much power... I wonder if adding a J pipe would help getting rid of the drone but i kind of don't want to cut up the RB mid pipe haha

    • @ricepony33
      @ricepony33 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ahwestlam It's not robbing as much as you think unless it's clogged and broken... reason I say that is because I ran the FFS for many years and they do tend to kill cats. Adding a highflow cat will add significant noise because of the blower, the power difference feels like about 5hp tops and I did the swap many, many times. As for a Jpipe that might work but you'd be entering into the unknown as far as the sound it puts out. If the cat is indeed dead, I'd swap in a high flow and add a larger resonator or muffler AND the HELMHOLTZ CHAMBER. Look them up, it is basically a little mini pipe/muffler that is tuned to cancel drone. OEM's use them all the time.
