You are so correct! She and Richard Farnsworth were absolutely the only ones who could perfect the roles of Marilla and Matthew. The remakes will never come close to the originals.

This interview must have occurred shortly before her death. 5 years before this I had the chance to meet her twice & had fine conversations one of which took place when she greeted us in our backstage dressing room following a performance of LOST IN THE STARS at the LONG WHARF THEATER. Apparently her Christian Science beliefs were such that she did not choose medical treatment for what proved to be terminal cancer. A fine & generous lady who remains missed to this day.

I always had and still do adore her... my favorite was "Baby, makes Six"... but her son is an awesome actor. It runs in the family....RIP Colleen, you are being missed... " Thanks for the memories"...

I've always thought she did the voice of the demon on The Exorcist but come to find out that was Mercedes ? I can't think of the actresses last name... but for years I thought it was this lady
She was the voice of the Demon in The Exorcist Part III and does it brilliantly!!! I actually think her voice is even better than Mercedes McCambridge's in the first movie but both are great.

Just saw Anne of Green Gables for the 2nd time. She and her "brother" "Mathew Cuthbert" were awesome. Love her greatly.

She passed away in August 22, 1991 as the result of cervical cancer.
