Interesting that Jorja starts her solo with the same repeating triplet pattern that Andy uses on the RM1982 Frejus recording. I'm sure she can play whatever she wants so maybe a little nod of acknowledgement in his direction
I've noticed with current videos of concerts in many parts of Europe that he looks very serious. That he has lost that.....animation, looseness, that beautiful smiling face on stage that subtle flirtyness he use to have. Yes, he's older now but.........gosh, that presentation of youthfulness seems to have gone. His orchestration and stage presence has become very sophisticated and polished now, it blows me away. He is professional in every way. I love the guy. One day they'll all be gone...........and so will we. So thank you Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music for everything past and present.
You can really see his fun to be part of the band and letting the others shine. It's not about the ego of the star but about the pure fun of a superb performance.

For me, Neil Young and Bryan Ferry are the best entertainer and composer who has been transforming reality into poetry for decades. The music is able to make me happy and free me from bad feelings. He is authentic and has the formula that touches people with his music and makes the H2O atoms in the body vibrate. In 1976, our father left us when we were 9, 11 and 13 years old. Cancer. Our mother had to work nights to give us a “nice” childhood. When we were alone at home, we often listened to music like Neil Young's "Harvest Moon." We had no money for musical instruments, but we did have an old harmonium from our grandmother that we played a lot as children. This new video touches me very much because I define “Like a Hurricane” as one of the most beautiful songs and pieces of music in cultural history. When I'm feeling well, I listen to and watch Bryan Ferry's "Nuits de Fourviere Live in Lyon - Like a Hurricane HD" by "dp" on TH-cam - absolutely great, radiates happiness and makes you happy. When I'm sad or angry about what humans are doing to our planet, I listen to and watch "Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Like A Hurricane - Live 1986" by "billyidol68" on TH-cam. What a great version of this song. I must confess I didn't expect much as it's Neil Young's song and who's going to compete with him right? Well Bryan Ferry is without the gimmicks of smoke machines, fake explosions and nightclub lights along with a superb backing band of 2 lead guitars, a bassist, 2 keyboard players, a pianist, 2 drummers, 4 terrific backing singers and a knockout saxophonist. Perfect. Impossible to do better or even the same. Just seeing this song live is more than enough to justify the ticket. This version will go down in the annals of music history.
This leaves me breathless and almost over excited. Summit of rock music. Music like it's supposed to be. Flawless, full of class, shining skill and mastership.
Wow this is great. Always loved Roxy Music and listened some to Bryan Ferry but this song this version is..... more than the sum of the musicians on stage. Pure magic! So well performed, so effortlesly yet so good. Never before realized just how much rock music Bryan Ferry's music was. Many thanks for the experience 👍
Saw Bryan Ferry at Standon Calling Festival....totally unbelievable masterful performance. No talking in between songs, just masterful wonderful music one after the other....If you ever get a chance to see him live do not hesitate. His voice is still good, he looks fantastic if that is important to you??. Go see him live and his "OMG" band before he retires, you wont regret it. Best performance for me in years.
I've always loved Bryan and saw Roxy in the 70s but came to this late. He's like a football coach or conductor who recruits the best soloists, and brings on the young, Oliver and Jorja. He's been doing this cover since the 80s and is still going strong. He ages like a fine wine. The epitome of cool. A working class boy from the north east who became a country squire and James Bond. A legend. Genuine music lovers never retire.
Such a killer comment commending a classy romantic music pioneer Mr. Bryan Ferry 👍👍 My hats off to all the musicians especially the guitarists involved ❤👨🏻🎤🎸⚘

I would love to hear Bryan in a small venue. What a delight. Until then. I wil listen On the radio or search him out on TH-cam and listen.
@@paulabaker8403 Same here. In the meantime, let's enjoy his presence with us and, most importantly, his music and class.
Bryan Ferry inspired my life with his music, and now, in the days we live reminds me of what I am.
Bryan Ferry is one of a kind, absolutely the king of Roxy Music. First class musician.
Une version toute aussi sublime que l'originale. Bravo ! Un vrai régal !
Perfect. Impossible to do better or even the same. Just seeing this song live is more than enough to justify the ticket. This version will go down in the annals of music history.
Yes Best Sax and Guitar solos I have heard for years.
Marvellous, long live to them all...
Sept. 26 and 28 in San Fran and LA.
the perfect complete performance
Think this was one of his best shows over a long period and probably his best band.
I love how he gives the band the stage. Genius.
Allan Spence True Gentleman!!
Sign of a class musician
You said it - he said he loves giving young musicians a chance to perform - it inspire him - a very wise man...
This leaves me breathless and almost over excited. Summit of rock music. Music like it's supposed to be. Flawless, full of class, shining skill and mastership.
Perfectly stated
Good comment!
Well said!
I love that Bryan sits to side and let’s everyone else shine as well
shining bs. He has lost his voice and attempts to make money out of superficial showmanship
Mr. Brian Ferry. Style in perfection. At its finest!
Remember seeing Roxy on the Avalon tour doing this in 1982 , I actually cried with emotion, that’s the power of music, brilliant musician ship👍
I love you brother and i'm not gay 😀
Wow, musicians who can actually play instruments, how quaint!
How a sax player can be so good and so good looking ! timeless performance ! you guys rock
seen in Brighton uk this guy takes young talent and gives them a platform. He`s a true musicians musician!!!
Coincido en lo q decís, no lo tenía haciendo semejante música en concierto,...un lujo!
Ein Genuss. Erste Sahne. Erinnert mich an früher.
Bryan Ferry bzw. Roxy Music für immer.
Bryan always has such a great band. The two guitarists swapping roles so seamlessly. Everybody supporting the sax solo.
one looks to be 15 years old
@@tacey505 His name is Oliver Thompson. He was in a band with Bryan's son Tara...and yes he is a kid compared to everyone else.
@@tacey505 Oliver Thompson, guitar god at approx. 21 years young.
And those wonderful backup singers. Great band.
@@christiandavis2916 There is nothing like a black women backup singers crew. Or gospel choir for that matter. Superb.
Of all his live sets, Lyon is my favorite by a mile. Everything is just right, and Oliver Thompson is on fire throughout.
One of the greatest live performances by any band ever. It's so good it makes me want to cry.
I've treasured his music for so may years and tonight see him at the LA Forum with St. Vincent opening. It'll be a fantastic rock show!
Is there a better perfomer than Ferry ?? even his session musicians are the best on the planet, it's just superb....
dmb
Session players play at recording sessions.
D.r Manhattan So agree
Young Oliver Thompson rocks it on guitar yet again.
@@rhondadiaz4605 The old guy rocks too!!
Brilliant version of this song. Definitely adds a lot of coolness 😮
Absolutely brill, all in sync, singers, sax, drummer, keyboards, guitarists and Bryan himself absolutely terrific.
She's astounding... and she knows it, thanking the audience before any applause.
wonderful video, wonderful band, wonderful, wonderful Brian
Saw Bryan Ferry at Standon Calling Festival....totally unbelievable masterful performance. No talking in between songs, just masterful wonderful music one after the other....If you ever get a chance to see him live do not hesitate. His voice is still good, he looks fantastic if that is important to you??. Go see him live and his "OMG" band before he retires, you wont regret it. Best performance for me in years.
Bryan's still a genius decades later...(pretty hard to admit coming from a Yank) and what a great band, they are all super!!
Can't think of an accolade that even borders on adequate. Magnificent in every way. Going to watch it again now.
Сейчас такой музыки нет,это шедевр❤❤❤Браво!Браво!Браво!Это жизнь,глаток чистого воздуха❤❤❤❤❤
I love the way Ferry sits almost out of sight instead of being centre stage but still controls everything. In a monarchy one knows who is king !
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done!
We saw Bryan Ferry sing this in Edinburgh Castle esplanade a few years back it was great
Love Neil Hubbard's guitar solo at the end - soulful, magnificent!
Fantastic guitarist wow you don’t get a lot better than that 😊
I can't get enough of this song... It has everything... Absolutely love it. Probably my favourite of all time.
Wer kann beim Zuhören dieses Meisterwerkes noch die Tränen zurückhalten? Ich nicht!
Emocionante, mucha energía transmiten!
Bryan is one of the most underated musicians in the UK. A showman a true performer.!!
100% in agreement in all you have put in words.
@@josephpower4136 Thanks. You send out your thoughts and hope they mean something to somebody. The internet can be, but is not always, wonderful.
This has took my breath away ,never heard anything as good , just perfect
T😊P !!! All ..guitar, sax, the singing Ladys, voice Bryan and the Band ....Wow. Great BIG number !! Thanks !!
As if someone has the audacity to cover a Neil Young classic and then goes and smashes it!!! Awesome, brilliant!!!!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Such a killer comment commending a classy romantic music pioneer Mr. Bryan Ferry 👍👍
My hats off to all the musicians especially the guitarists involved
❤👨🏻🎤🎸⚘
When I began to play guitar - this was my first song to play. Wow - 40 years ago!
