Ah, - Avalon - the perfect music for the initiation of a night with special someone, where the chemical connections of both participants are burning bright; or, for driving the faded streets of your younger days, with everything seen and felt in a nostalgic, comforting glow; or, for a warm embrace on a high rise balcony with a view of millions of twinkling lights below and beyond; or -- just for a lazy cozy Sunday morning at home… This is music for all those moments in a life that are beautiful, majestic, romantic, exquisite. Timeless.

Yes, it's really me, roxyfan1. :) From time to time I stumble on this version of Avalon and I give kudos to the young lady who sings my ad libs. She did a wonderful job.

Yanick Etienne 2019 stumbling on your roxyfan1. An old, music nutcase still staying sane by the great, wonderful sounds of music.. -a failed slave to love.. I still comment, still adore, still listen to the new young wonderful women... Like the radio telescope listening to the universe.. silence returns.. As if a star returns any signal.. From afar the signal is received.. Remember love is a human condition.. Humans are forever searching. Never receiving.. LOVE.

My god, Ms. Etienne...I nearly fell over when I saw your name. Brought back so many memories of how your amazing voice sent shivers down my spine and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when you sang on the Bete Noire tour. Your voice echoed into the heavens and moved the Angels to tears of joy. Seems so long ago now, and yet like yesterday. I still play my Bass to the New Town concert video. Wherever you are, and whatever you are doing, today, may peace & happiness be with you always. Happy New Year, in 2020, Beautiful Lady. And thank you.

Such an assembly of fine voices. Notice, too, the emphasis given the guitar. It's these wonderful backup singers, Bryan Ferry, and the several guitars, especially bass guitar, that gives this song its feel.

    • @oppothumbs1

great song though I don't think the samba is the right dance to take one out of nowhere:
Now the party's over, I'm so tired
Then I see you coming out of nowhere
      Much communication in a motion
      Without conversation or a notion
      Avalon
When the samba takes you out of nowhere
And the backgrounds fading out of focus
Yes the picture's changing every moment
And your destination you don't know it.
