      I have the same problem. I’ve tried many times and even if I hold down the + and play/pause button together for up to 30 seconds, it won’t turn off. The hourglass button is also flashing for some reason I can’t figure out. We don’t have any more JBL speakers in the house so I don’t think it’s paired with any other speakers or anything

      Hi Christiannilsson8609, Have you tried resetting the speaker by holding the power button for a longer period of time or checking if there are app firm ware updates available for your speaker? It could be a software glitch, a faulty power button or an issue with the internal circuitry. What Model is your speaker and can you shed more light on the issue experienced? How often does this occur, how have you tried to resolve this thus far and were there any local effects or human error that contributed to the failure mode instu?

    My JBL charge 4 quit putting out any sound at all, it won't even do the start-up and shutdown noises like it always has. It appears to be connecting just fine to my phone and had no issues powering on/off. I've tried doing the reset tricks and verified that it is up to date on the firmware but I've had no luck whatsoever. Do you have any other recommendations for trying to fix it? I'm about ready to look into sending it to JBL for a repair but I'm sure it won't be cheap.

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check to see that the software on your computer, Mobile phone and the firmware on the JBL app are up to date. Also check to see if the cable you are using is genuine and not broken. If you reset once and it doesn’t resolve the problem. Rest twice or thrice. Turn on your JBL device and let the battery drain out then charge up fully without switching on if this doesn’t work. It definitely is a software glitch or bug or perhaps the issue is with JBL and not your speaker. Probably they might send out a bug fix sooner or later as software plugins usually require maintenance. So be patient or you could take it in for an inspection if you still have warranty. Let me know how you get on

    If i keep charger connected jbl runs fine,if i remove the cable after 3 minutes its shutdown and need to turn on the device again. What can be cause of this?

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Firstly, are the 5 Charging LEDS lit up or you have only one white LED flashing? Or do you have the LED showing red? Are you using the original charger and is your charger broken? You might also need to Update the firm ware on your JBL app as well as a factory reset and see if that helps. Look forward to hearing from you

    The problem with me is the loud sound, when I turn it on the sound is immediately amplified. Can resetting the speakers solve the problem?

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it’s quite difficult remotely to ascertain the nth degree of loudness or decibel range but I would suggest a JBL firm ware update and computer software update first as it might be compatibility issues or a software glitch, if this doesn’t resolve the problem then try a reset if you are confident that the loudness is an anomaly from the norm or if it deviates from what it originally sounds like. Let me know how you get on

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aleksander,
      Did you try a factory reset before concluding it didn’t turn on?
      Did you update your firm ware on the JBL app?
      Did you leave it in the rain for days?
      Do you continuously allow the battery to run out flat when in use before recharging ? E.g showing red, then flat, than showing white charging LED lights
      If you have exhausted all options then,
      Check to make sure that your JBL Charge 3 speaker is charged. If it is fully charged and still will not turn on, the speaker's power button mechanism may be worn out or broken. Use the JBL Charge 3 Button Replacement guide to replace any faulty buttons on the speaker.

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Presumably might need a bug fix from JBL which they could be working on to allow updates but firstly, Please check your wifi / mobile data connection and verify that it is working properly. It may be down and stopping you from updating the JBL Firmware Update app.
      Secondly, Confirm that you have enough storage space in your phone to download updates. If you don't have enough storage space, it can be blocking the app updates. Verify that the app you're trying to install supports your iOS version. The JBL Firmware Update app server may be down and that is causing the loading issue. Please try after few minutes. Lastly, Most of the times, it might be a temporary loading issue. You just need to press the recent applications menu (usually the first left button) in your phone. Then you close the app that has this issue. Now open the app again. It may work normally.
      Try to restart your iPhone / iPad. Press the power off button for few seconds and then choose restart from the menu to restart your device now. you can try opening the app, it may work fine.
      If none of the above working, you can wait till your phone battery drains and it turns off automatically. After that put it to charge, and press the power button. It may work after this.
      Finally, if you can't fix it with anything, you may need to uninstall the app and re-install it. iOS usually provides an option to restore settings and content from iCloud backup, if you've enabled it previously. Let me know how it goes.Good luck

The good news is that your power IC may not have blown up hence why you are able to power on your device but a short circuit may have been experienced around a component on your PCB that enables your battery to get charged i.e resistor, diode e.t.c. Red light blinking probably means your battery is almost out. You should charge it to at least one white bar or two before attempting a reset. Charge for longer hours and update your JBL firmware in the app.. if this doesn’t resolve the
      Problem.. let me know.. thanks

    I tried to do a reset on mine, so that it would erase all previous bluetooth pairings. However, after doing so, I can power it on, but it quickly powers off, and I cannot get it to operate back to normal. This video, nor any others I have found actually address the issue I am now facing.

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul, firstly what device did you reset? A 3 or 4? Is your JBL app firmware up to date? Are you using the original cable to charge your JBL or is your JBL cable broken? how many led bars do you have on your device before it powers off 1,2,3,4,5? What are the colours of your LED charging lights? Red or white? is your device fully charged when erratically powering off and how many hours did you charge your JBL device? Were you experiencing battery power related issues prior to resetting? In some instances, your JBL speaker may also think its battery is lower than it actually is. If this is the case, you will have to factory reset your speaker in order to correct its corrupted charging logic, The amplifier in the speaker is usually equipped with a built-in protection circuit. These circuits are designed to protect the amplifier from destruction when a short occurs. Therefore, when things get heated inside the speaker, the circuits shut down whatever is causing the heating and in doing so it may be causing the switching off of the speaker. So is your mains or socket and JBL speaker experiencing voltage or current surge, short circuits, sparks or partial connection? Is the port of your JBL speaker collecting water which can cause a short or did you mistakenly drop the micro usb Charing port of your charger in water or coffee?

    • @__Paul__

      @@UtechUreview My device is a Charge 3. I have the JBL portable app, but due to the device being unable to stay powered on, it will not pair. Since it will not pair, I currently cannot check to see if firmware on device is latest and greatest. (Note: The device will power on when a charge cable is connected, but it in that situation, it will not answer to pairing requests. I should also point out that when the device is powered OFF and a USB / charging connection is made, only the the charge status LEDs are on and / or flashing. However, in the current state, the power button is also ON (constant), despite the device being "off" before connecting the USB cable, if that makes sense. Any and all LEDs that currently come on are white. My device is fully charged, and I am confident the battery is fine. Before my factory reset attempt, I experienced no problems with the device. (Factory reset attempt was ONLY to erase all previous pairings from its memory.) The device or its ports have been exposed to dirt or fluids of any kind.

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@__Paul__ assuming there have been no trip out or surge current to your devices electronics and given all conditions earlier highlighted have been met, have you attempted or are you able to reset again?
      JBL speakers have an automatic turn off feature that switches the speaker off if it does not play for 10 to 15 minutes. If you let your speaker stay idle without turning off, it will switch off automatically. This feature may be annoying if you are using your speaker as a computer speaker.
      To solve this, you need to disable this auto-off feature. However, since this is a design you cannot do away with, you can keep your speaker switched on the whole time by letting your speaker play audio on very low volume. This way, you will be able to keep your speaker switched on with minimal distraction.
      Perhaps your device device is experiencing transient glitches and should be back to full throttle in a few days, if powered OFF. What are you trying to pair to ? Computer, phone? Are you able to turn ON and OFF blue tooth prior to pairing to improve connectivity and have the non JBL device software version updated to accommodate bugs and fixes? Your LED bars are full white and lit up so that indicates that you have power in the device? Did you reset the device with low battery or full power? Try resetting the device with your AC cable or plug and if that doesn’t work reset with battery only.
      A speaker that refuses to turn off or keeps turning off can often be resolved by resetting the speaker. If this fails to resolve the issue, then letting the battery run out to reset the charging logic usually works in this instance.
      If your speaker is shutting off by itself or won’t turn on, it may not be charging due to a broken charging port or charging cable
      As for the speaker turning off automatically, JBL has a feature where the speaker will turn off if nothing is connected to it for 10 minutes. This helps preserve power, and so it’s nothing to worry about. But if it’s shutting off during music playback, then the issue could be that the battery is on low power due to the charging cable or charging port not supplying power to the device.
      Try swooping with a non defective cable.
      If your JBL speaker keeps turning on and off by itself, then that is certainly not normal. JBL speakers don’t have a feature where they automatically turn on, so this shouldn’t be happening. The possible explanation for this would be that the power button is being activated by dust underneath it or the circuit board is faulty.
      Let me know how you get on

    • @__Paul__
      @__Paul__ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UtechUreview Sure, if my speaker were working normally, it would automatically shut off after a certain amount of time, if there is no music being played, and I totally expect that.
      However, I should have clarified further that when I mean it will not stay on, in my specific case, when you attempt to power it on, the power button comes on as well as all the battery LEDs (everything in white), but will only stay on a few seconds, then powers off. That is my current problem. This behavior started occurring after resetting the speaker. (I reset it because I wanted to remove all previous bluetooth pairings, as I already had 3 paired devices, which I think is the max number for my model, and I wanted to pair the speaker with a "4th" device, which was not one of the prior 3 that had successfully paired.)

You might need to change the battery or rubber under the power button but first before you do that can you let me know..is the light blinking underneath when your charge? When you press the power button what happens? Does it power on or partially? You make have run the battery really flat. If the blinkers underneath is red. Leave it charged in ac mains socket for over 24 hrs with the original charger provided is not broken and troubleshoot from there

      Hi Tracytinnon2988, is your battery showing one red dot or on continuous flashing white charging light? Was your JBL 3 totally drained before attempting to charge? If totally drained, leave it to charge for a several hours and hopefully should come back on after powering on. If it’s erratic after powering on, then Might be a software glitch and your JBL would need factory resetting as well as updating your JBL fimware app e.g on your mobile phone bespoke to your JBL model. It could also be that the number of cycle charge your recharging battery is allowed or useful life has run out and as such would necessitate a service or replacement. Hopefully would soon a demonstrate how you can change your battery in a subsequent video . Unfortunately there is no way to test externally the capacity of your battery before ordering an aftermarket spare but would also demonstrate how to do this in a subsequent video during servicing . Suffice to say, the probable root cause may be a battery or some other reason so you have to be 100% sure it’s a battery before ordering wasteful costly replacements that’s not needed. Nevertheless, The battery has the highest proclivity so worth swapping that to see if there is a remarkable improvement. Also thanks for the feedback. Appreciated. Let me know how you get on and the current status of your JBL. Look forward to hearing from you. Don’t forget to subscribe and share. Helps channel grow. Take care

      I don't have a JBL app. When I checked playstore the apps all said in the comments that they didn't work properly. I've noticed that on EVERY app I've looked at recently and I'm not sure what that's all about. I have my theories but... So do you recommend an app? I've never had anything on this phone to work with my speakers. A few years ago I had a phone that I could change things on the JBL and on my Beats. When I checked out the apps for beats the comments were negative also. Any suggestions?
      The reason I originally watched your video was for my new JBL 3 speaker. It startled cutting out after a couple days of using it. My daughter had connected it to her phone while she was vacuuming for me. It was working fine before that. I have no idea if connecting it to her phone could have caused this to happen.
      As far as the first JBL 3 that I keep plugged in to use... well all the white lights are on until I unplug it from the charger for a minute and then it just stops. So I don't know if I should order a new battery or not. I'm sure my oldest son could put it in the JBL for me. I saw them on eBay or somewhere for about $18.00. For what that speaker cost me that's very reasonable. Do you have anyone you trust to buy new batteries from? Most of these are from China. Doesn't JBL make these speakers in China? I'm not too happy with China right now. The government anyway. So here I am. A Gramma looking for answers and I'm so grateful for your help. Thank you!

      So I reset the JBL 3 and it's still cutting out. Did I not comment about this? I hope I didn't comment on the wrong channel good night?! Anyway all the white lights across the bottom were on when I reset it and the blue light on top. Then the lights on the bottom went away and it started playing and cutting out. Ugh!!! I hope I didn't get ripped off! It was working fine for two days!
      One more question. Can you have too many jbl's and beats connected? Could this cause a problem? I don't know how since it was working without cutting out before my daughter used it. This is frustrating!

      Your red flash or blinking presumably means your battery is very low and needs more charge. Hold down the power button for at least 30secs, the sound should beep and the five white LED lights should light up or show and power button blue when connected. So turn the speaker off and plug USB to charge the speaker. If you can't get the speaker fully charged it could be that your cable is faulty? Are you using the original jbl charger?

      Hi Christian. There are instances where JBL does run flat and it appears it wouldn't charge. Firstly, your cable may be damaged. Are you using the original charger and cable? Are you able to get the cable accessories? Are you able to test your cable with another appliance just to ensure it isn't a faulty cable? Also if your device isnt powering on. It could be presumably that it was allowed to run flat before the next charge and it might take sometime before it starts charging again. So plug directly into mains socket and not the USB port of your computer. Leave for 12 hours or more and see if it charges? Let me know how if problem Still persists? Thanks

      Upgrading an OS in MAC may sometimes Lead to compatibility issues but sometimes can be resolved and some devices or applications play catch-up, Try restarting your computer then reconnect your JBL speaker 3, if the glitch is still persistent check to see that you have only 3 devices connected to your charge 3 at only one time, check your MAC book pro for any updates and update according by checking software update in your settings, if this doesn’t resolve the problem, download cleanmymacx and run maintenance scripts, also check to see that the firm ware on your JBL charge 3 app is updated, you can run a factory reset on your JBL charge 3 and if this not work hold down the option and shift key on your MacBook Pro and click on the blue tooth icon in the task bar at top right and select and reset the blue tooth module on your computer, if these do not work we may need to troubleshoot your SMC and .p file on computer, let me know if these work and if not would help resolve further. It will just remove user data. If it deletes the firm update that would be very odd. Let me know how it went. If still in doubt consult your manufacturer but I doubt that it would remove the firmware. Dont forget to share and subscribe if you can. Thanks

    Hi I found a problem in the low frequency mode feature. That is, even though I can turn it off using the - button and the Bluetooth button, it keeps reappearing when I turn off the device. What should have been when the device was ON at the beginning it had to be LFM OFF instead of LFM ON and I'm afraid if it happens continuously it will damage the bass radiator. Is there any solution to fix this?

    can my jbl charge 3 go from connect plus to jbl connect

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Understand that not all speakers have connect + or connect and speakers with connect Cannot sync or communicate with connect + speakers. You should connect only one of them to your Bluetooth device (e.g iPhone) otherwise Bluetooth will experience a glitch or implode leading to dropouts and abnormal sound behaviour
      JBL Connect
      The following speakers have the JBL Connect function and can be connected to each other:
      JBL Flip 3
      JBL Charge 3
      JBL Pulse 2
      JBL Clip 2
      JBL Connect+
      The following speakers have the JBL Connect+ function and can be connected to each other:
      JBL Flip 4
      JBL Xtreme 2
      JBL Pulse 3
      JBL Charge 4
      JBL Boombox

    • @UtechUreview

      There are a myriad of probable reasons for the reported problem. it may be charger or cable, software bugs, circuit board, or battery related.
      Probable solutions to your JBL charging problem
      1. Replace the USB charging cable
      The USB charging cable may be faulty if it isn’t charging, as may have been yanked, bent or strained, as a result becoming defective . E.g Use a USB Type-C cable to charge your JBL Flip 5. So your Micro-USB charging cable might be faulty. E.g if your cable wobbles around in your speaker’s USB port. So check to see if this resolves the issue?
      1b. Other broken charger related fault
      If you have a Broken charger, the battery of your speaker might not be charging. Your charger USB port may be broken or your internal board has gone bad.
      2 Clean the Charging port. Remove any dirt. Use a toothpick if need be and blow out FOD OR debris
      3 Factory Reset JBL Charge 5 or configuration setting
      Turn on the power of your speaker.
      Press and hold the ‘Play’ and ‘Volume Up’ buttons at the same time.
      Hold them for 5 seconds or more, then turn off your device.
      Wait a few moments and press the power button again to turn on the device.
      If it is in pairing mode, then you reset it!
      Connect your speaker to charge and check its performance.
      4 Replace the Faulty Battery
      defective battery, probably means your speaker it will not work right. As it may have come to the end of its useful life or too old. Refrain from charging battery too much or been left under ultraviolet sun light.
      5 Try a different Wall Power Outlet as outlet may be faulty
      Use a voltmeter to test voltage in the wall If it is too high or too low, you could to contact a certified electrician to prevent further damage or surge in the wiring and circuit board of your speaker.
      6 update your software or firm ware if you are Using an Outdated JBL software as you may have bugs in the code.
      Resetting them usually requires holding down Bluetooth and volume buttons for 5 seconds - this will work on Go or Flip 5 models (but not Charge 3). To reset the charge quickly press the play/pause button along with power together until the light turns green.
      7. Repair JBL 5 Faulty Circuit Board
      The circuit board can get damaged due to overcharging or overheating or Consistent contact with water can also damage the circuit board or cause a short circuit or fry certain point on the circuit board. In this case, you should take your JBL Flip 5 to a service center and they will fix it for you by testing for points, using a flying probe test and repairing faulty circuitry. My JBL Bluetooth light is always blue as if something is always connected. Even after I factory reset it and forget device on my phone. Then I turn it on and reconnect, and channel audio through the speaker on my phone, there's no sound coming out anymore. Thank you for the video. I'll keep trying to work something out.

    I realize it's an older video, but was wondering if anyone else has the issue with the jbl audio cutting off and on erratically when paired with an android. I have a S21 and lately the jbl audio will randomly cut off and on while playing. It never stays off, just randomly. The battery sbows full, makes me wonder about some kind of interference from something at work.
