  • OP-1 Drum Breakdown Tip!
Today I'm showcasing an OP-1 Drum Breakdown Tip! If you've got a drum breakdown in the middle of your song, there are a few easy ways to spice it up, assuming you have at least 2 tracks free! The first way is to record your drum pattern twice. Once using a sequencer, and the second played by you in real time. The discrepancies between the two recordings make a great effect! Speaking of effects, the second way is to record the same pattern twice, once with effects, once without! Then, simply use the mixer screen to change levels between the two tracks, which will also change the perceived amount of effects on the pattern! Let me know if you like this tip, enjoy the video :)

Very nice! Never thought about the mixer or (OP1 actually) in that way, going all in on the drums. Thanks!

That’s useful for noodling/doodling FB but the loss of available tracks is a huge restriction unless you take the tracks into a DAW, don’t you think? Cheers. Lee

That's why it's a tip for drum breakdowns, where most (if not all) of the other instruments have dropped out, leaving you with 2-4 tracks to play with for the breakdown :)

@@FreeBeat fair point and a reminder that I don't write music with breakdowns, hence my not paying proper attention!

Just use it alongside a Smpltrek, or mix down on the Field
