Hello my wife found your channel several months ago. She loved to cook until she had a stroke December of 2020. Since the stroke she has struggled with some things like speech and memory. She lost the interest of cooking until she found your channel. You have inspired her to cook again with my help. Thank you from us and my taste buds. 😋 😊
I'm a Yankee. We put sugar in our corn bread, call it Jonny Cake, and serve it with butter and maple syrup. And we would never put sugar in ice tea. Let's face it, coffee is our preferred beverage anyway. Love your videos, and I will try your southern style corn bread.
I don't usually comment on recipes, but I've tried a lot of yours. Never disappointed but I'm really happy with the Killer White Chicken Chili. The only change I made was I added a can of diced green chilis. Lordy this a keeper for sure! I also want to tell you I LOVE your interaction with your oh so handsome sidekick. Being a southern woman myself, I have 2 favorites that I watch continually when there's new uploads. That would be yourself and Brenda Gantt. Hey girl, you need to start a cookbook. I'd buy 7. one for me and each of my 5 sons and my daughter. Yes my boys can cook. I made sure of that. LOVE your channel! 🥰😍🤩
Mandy, I'm a "no beans in my chili" eater, however I agree with the Commontater, if it has beans, they have to be pintos! And I'm a southern girl also and there is NO sugar in my cornbread. My Mom always said that sugar in cornbread was a "northern thing" kind of like putting sugar in your grits😊
I was born and raised in Michigan, and have lived in Ohio for 37 years! It's true, we Northeners do put sugar in our cornbread! I put sugar in my chili and my grits, as well! I like grits to taste like cream of wheat!
Mandy, you could leave A small baggie of shredded cheese in the fridge (for gracy). That way you always have some for her! Just thinking of the baby. God Bless all
You two are awesome. As much as I love watching the recipes, I enjoy watching you two just as much. Stephen is a laugh a minute. Thanks for the inspiration xx
I love chili anytime of the year. It doesn't have to be cool weather. I like kidney beans in chili, but I also like other beans as well. I have never had chirozo before, so I'm looking forward to trying that recipe.
I love this, and everyone who has tastes it does, too. I use the red sauce instead of green. It's a winner and my boyfriend, Keith has been my taste tester on ur other recipes and his comment " u havent made a recipe that isnt a winner but the white chicken chili, beef tips (coke) in the crockpot, teriyaki stir fry bowl are some of the best". I can't wait to try more instant pot recipes. Love you guys and the faith-based love you give and receive. Please keep doing you. ❤❤❤ 0:13
Since the kids have moved out, I have worked to cut back my menus to make it for 2. Chili is the exception as my husband and I both love our chili. Blessings!
I used to make the chili at Wendy's, they put their hamburgers that aren't selling immediately into a pan of water filling the pan until the next day's batch of chili. Get some of their gold chili seasoning packets and put them in your bowl, it's really good and they put alot in the pan.
@@Spoke76 if I remember correctly it is hamburger, canned diced tomatoes, minced onion, chili beans and tomato sauce. Plus the seasoning and chili powder. I was 16 when I worked there the first time and I'm almost 60 now.
You and Steven are precious together. When he works with you in the kitchen, it just seems he loves and Respects you. The reason I'm blathering on is to ask you if you've thought about teaching your Son some basic cooking techniques For when he goes to College. And by the way when I look at your boy I see exactly what your hubby looked like in his teens. Talk about a spitting Image. WOW. LOVE YOU CHANNEL GIRL!!! Keep it Going.❤
I agree with no beans in my chili. I'm from Texas and was raised by Texans. But if you have to put beans in the only ones to use are pintos. Thank you for this video that reminded me it was time for chili because the temperature sure isn't.
I made a BIG pot of my chili today. I used3 pounds of burger, 3 Vandalia onions, a red, green and yellow pepper, 4cans of chili beans, tomato juice and chili powder. YUMMY!!!
We love all types of chili, but I have to agree, pinto beans - YUM! They do make the best chili!! These are some fabulous chili recipes and we will have to give Grandma's cornbread recipe a whirl. Great vid Mandy. 🍅🌽🍞❤
You don’t heat the skillet before you put the cornbread in???? I thought every southerner did that. You should try it, it gives a nice crust, better flavor and helps to not stick
Im sure your cornbread is perfection on its own. But im going to share this anyway because my family loves it. After i pull my cornbread out of the oven I butter the top and drizzle with just a tiny bit of honey and spread that all over the top. They love the combination of the sweet with the spicy chili
I'm one of those Texas chili purists. No beans and no tomatoes in the chili. But, I also love Tex-Mex chili which does add tomatoes. I will serve beans on the side if someone wants to them. I agree there is nothing to compare with good butter milk cornbread with chili 😋❤
I always grease my cast iron pan and then put it in the hot oven to preheat, add cornbread mixture to screaming hot pan and cook and cook till done. Have done this for over 25 years, everyone loves it.
Try Milwaukee's classic award-winning George Webb Chili recipe that can easily be found online. It is still served at George Webb restaurants. Just cut it down to one/third for 1 lb of ground beef to make 6 servings. I tweak it by leaving out the Accent and the spaghetti and change the choice of beans sometimes. Then I add onion and garlic powder, a bay leaf, some cumin plus a 14.5 oz can of petite diced tomatoes.
I do a corney corn bread with chili. 2 boxes Jiffy corn bread, 2 cans each of cream and whole kernel corn and 4 eggs. Bake per box directions. It’s a great addition to chili having the corn in it.
I love, love, love your beautiful Gracie Lou! I have 6 🐈⬛ kitties and one giant puppy! The cats sit on my kitchen table to eat and share my meals! I live by myself so I don’t care if they join me! The goofy dog rests her chin on my leg and get treats too. We’re a big happy family that love your videos!
I have subscribed. I enjoy your presentation, your hubby's comments, your son's thumbs, and last but not least, Gracie's begging. The 2 chilis I will try is the Southwest Tex Mex since I'm in Texas, and the Killer White Chicken. I will add a can of Hatch Green Chilis to both recipes. My korn bread is made in an old cast iron that has 6 corn shaped pieces. The reason is it has more crust and that's the best part of korn bread.
I ❤chili and have tried lots of variations…one tip I have to give your chili a touch of sweetness without using brown sugar is to add in a can of tomato soup. It gives you the tomato flavor and slight sweetness without being too much. Love watching you both and always great meal ideas! 💕
Mandy My church is having a pot luck lunch tomorrow. I was going to make chili but now which one. Oh my. Thank you so much for all of these wonderful recipes.
I'm so excited to try the white chicken chili! I'm going to make it for my Bible Study ladies on Tuesday, and one of them is a subscriber, too, so we're always talking about the latest recipe! 😀
I use instant pot for chilli and soups. We eat our main meal at noon. I cook up a bunch of ground beef and sausage and freeze. Makes easy to grab of cooked meat into instant pot. Chilli and soups done in 35 mins.
When traveling for Christian missions in Malawi Africa they introduced me to msema (course pounded corn) and in return I introduced them to cornbread. They say its easy to remember cause its "a cup a cup a cup and a couple couple of" msema, flour, butter milk couple couple of eggs oil. Skillet or pan must be very hot before adding a couple T oil. Batter should sizzle when poured into skillet. WOW did they like that!
@@squisitissima2810I found it on Pinterest! DUMPLINGS 2 large eggs 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 3 tablespoons whole milk 2 tablespoons light brown sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup fine yellow cornmeal, fine 2 teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoon kosher salt 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. It was a slow cooker chili in the last couple hours take an ice cream scoop and scoop the dumplings on top and continue cooking. I did leave the sugar out.
Heeeeeeeey! I'm from Texas & I LOOOOVE beans in my chili!!! I also add shredded cheese into my cornbread, then before it goes into the oven, I'll drizzle some honey on the top then make half of the pan decor with jar sliced jalapeños. Yuuuuummmm!
My Momma always made real cornbread too. Her recipe was very similar to Steven's grandmother's recipe(although we have never measured the ingredients; we learned to make by watching her make it by, by "sight").
If there's sugar in cornbread it's dessert! And I have to say Mandy, I'd make just about anything you show, but I ain't making any cornbread but my mama's!!!
Mandy! I made the Killer White Chicken Chili yesterday! Gurrrllll! It is so yummy! My 80 y/o Dad who has a sensitive stomach ate it and loved it! (He’s Mexican, and used to love spicy food, but his stomach and acid reflux can’t handle it) My Dad had no problem with the spice level.(I followed the original recipe) Thank you for sharing this. I’m already planning to make the salmon patties tonight. Much love from Plano, Texas! ❤
Great recipes Mandy, thanks for sharing. I love Chili in the Fall, especially on a cold rainy day. I have a favorite Chili recipe, but I may have to try one of these. I cook mine in the crock pot all day, like8 8 hours. It was a favorite when I was still working. Sunday, I am making your Crock Pot Taco Hashbrown Casserole. This weekend we are expected to have our first cool weekend in SE MI.
Given how Steven feels about cream cheese and that he deemed the white chicken chili his favorite, we are going to have to try this one out. Love that cornbread recipe, my grandma couldn't use crisco but used bacon grease in hers but I think she would approve of us eating it in that cornbread. ❤ God bless you all ❤
I love chili. I make a white chicken chili very similar to yours but I add a can of green chilies and a poblano pepper. Not sure if you get the clumps of cream cheese in your chili but if you do, you can take about a cup or 2 of the hot chili liquid and put in a blender. Then add the cream cheese and blend and it makes so much more of a smooth, creamy consistency! I also agree, sugar does not go in cornbread. I love fried cornbread … so good!
Omg! That’s what I do with Wendy’s chili. Put it on top of my baked potato. Yummy. These all look delicious. Can’t decide which one to make. Thanks Mandy 🙏🇨🇦
I made this tonight in the Crockpot. So yummy! My husband is not a fan of chicken thighs. However, he loved this meal….went back for seconds! We will freeze half, to eat another time!
Mandy, instead of using salsa verde try making Trinidad green sauce/seasoning. Steven will LOVE it! Using different peppers to season it. I make it and use it in all my chili recipes now.
I see I’m about to make another trip to the grocery store because I don’t have everything I need, and now I’m determined to make chili tomorrow.😂 They all look delicious!
Its been cold here but will be making the white chili for my mom n step dad tomorrow. Our family has went threw so much loss, tomorrow is 2 yrs since my niece (my mothers granddaughter) was killed by a driver.times like these the only thing ppl can do is feed and nourish the heart, soul and tummy.your recipe will sure help.ty for sharing and will be sure to let you know what they say!! ❤ but got a feeling it will be delicious
Hey y’all!!!!! Happy and blessed Friday to everyone!!! I had chili on my mind all day!!! Yayyy!!! New inspiration for supper!!! I just bought some chorizo and was wondering what to do with it!!!
I agree with Steven, only pinto beans in chili. That’s why I don’t particularly like Wendy’s chili, because it has kidney beans also. I am going to have to try that white chicken chili, it looks so good. Love y’all’s videos!
Been subscribed for years & I always hit the like thumbs up before I even watch!! ❤ your family's reaction to each other - very envious! Keep up the great work.
❤The Killer White Chicken chili is beyond amazing. I made it for the guys in the family thinking it wouldn't be something I would care for. Wow, was I wrong. Everyone loved it including me. Thanks for sharing this.
I am going to try the killer chili! And the corn bread! Love corn bread and can't wait to try your generation recipe! So amazing to still have her pan. That's an amazing thing to have! You are so blessed! So many memories came out of that pan!
Happy to be here with the rest of y'all to comment on Mandy's video. 🙂 Always look forward to Mandy's content. I've been making chili with the Carroll Shelby's chili kit for a long time. I make it in the crockpot and changed from kidney beans to pinto beans. Pinto beans are much better. But I think I should make a change and try the tex mex chili and the white chicken chilli. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great weekend ❤
@@Spoke76 I don't always do the same thing every time. I usually follow the instructions on the box, but obviously alter things because I cook it in the crockpot not on the stove. I mostly use 1- 2 lbs cooked gr.beef ,1 or 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes, 1 or 2 cans pinto beans and the big seasoning packet it comes with. Sometimes I only add alittle of the cayenne pepper packet. I cook it on low about 4-6 hrs.
I couldn’t eat chili without beans … I love beans ( legumes ) in almost any form expect chick peas. We had a cat in the 90’s who loved sauerkraut ….he wouldn’t leave your side until he got his bite of it
It’s funny that you all are making chili I’ve been thinking about making some thanks for your inspirations I’ve heard that the verdict is out that Gracie should have cheese at every meal it’s a must
I use my grandfather’’s cornbread recipe. Only a teaspoon of sugar, so it is savoury! I use a cast iron skillet too only difference is I heat my crisco in the oven and then add the hot grease to the batter and then pour the batter right back into the hot skillet. Been using self-rising cornbread for the last several years but I have the truly from scratch recipe. Not sure whether I have even added sugar since I discovered the self-rising stuff. I enjoy your channel - Your sister in Him, KJ.
I don’t ever make chili as we are not chili eaters at all, beans or no beans, but I loved watching this video anyway. We do love taco soup and make it without beans so the first recipe might be a new one to try changing up our taco soup.
I definitely agree NO SUGAR IN SOUTHERN CORNBREAD! I have my daddy’s cast iron skillet and nothing else but cornbread gets cooked in it but cornbread. It makes the best crust. I use Martha White self rising yellow corn meal with hot rise. It’s just what my family prefers.
I'm not a big chili fan but I think it's the beans I don't care for. So maybe if I left them out or just put a can or half a can. I'll have to see how it turns out. I always hit the subscribe button before I hit anything else. Oh and before I forget I just want to say I'm sorry for not being around lately. I got to see my Grandson for the first time in 4 years and his 5. He calls me Grandma Becky and he calls his dad either by his first name or Dad. We are working on getting him to just call us Grandma and Dad. I get to start babysitting him in about a week. I can't wait!!! I hugged him and said I love you and he said it back to me. I just about lost it. ❤️ Have a great week.
Love your white chili recipe. Right now is a good time to add hatch chilies also because they are in season. Thank you for your videos. Give Gracie a big hug for me. Bye y'all.
Just watched this video on my TV screen. So yummy! I grew up eating chorizo with whole beans or refried (pinto beans). Refried beans with chorizo make yummy burritos, too. You are such a joy to watch. 🙏🏻
Hi Mandy! Thank you for all you do!! We enjoy watching weekly and love your recipes! I am as I type making Grandma's cornbread. I was wondering, my Dad always greased his iron skillet then put it in the oven to warm up? Have you ever done this? Makes for a crispier bottom.
❤love your videos ❤you give us such GREAT recipes...I love the white chicken chili..an the corn bread is the way I make mine too...its from my granny and my mom...I do put my pan in the oven an get it really hot That way when you pour your batter in it sizzles.. Showing u that it's hot but when you turn it out you'll see the top and sides are crunchie..I love it..thanks for sharing.. Love it...❤😊
My husband likes to smoke brisket for family gatherings and parties, but he ALWAYS makes too much, so after some experimenting in the kitchen, I think I've finally perfected the recipe for my Brisket Chili. I might just have to submit it as a subbie supper!
All the recipes looked so good 😊 I personally don't like pintos in my chili. I always use dark red kidney beans 🫘 I have to have that for flavor as well as texture for my chili.😊
Oh my goodness Mandy and Steven, we do not eat a lot of chili so I waited to watch. Why I waited so long I do not know as you both make me smile through your video. I love the way you explain things Mandy and the music is perfect. God Bless your family until next time ❤️🙏❤️.
I may try that white chicken chili, but that beef/broccoli dish that you made a couple of weeks ago...well I made and both my husband and I said that it is definitely going into our meal rotation!!!!!!! That stuff was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who reads other people's comments, well I'm telling it is so worth making! Thanks for sharing your recipes Mandy 😊😊😊
I’m simmering my chili, cornbread in the oven and thought I’d catch up on Mandy. Surprise!! That exactly how I make my chili. WOW, can hardly wait to eat it.
Loved all of these recipes. I've never had the urge to try a white chili, but your Killer White Chicken Chili has made me a convert! That's the one I'm going to try first!😊😊 Not sure when I'll get to it, though - I have so many of your other recipes I want to try! 😊😊 I'm also eager to try your cornbread recipe. Don't know if I'll be able to find self-rising cornmeal up here (I live in Canada) so, here's hoping.
Me personally I don't like beans in my chili. I do however love cornbread the way you make yours. I love to crumble up Hot cornbread and a glass of Pour buttermilk over it. That's so good... but the cornbread has to be hot. Love your videos
I liked 1 and 5...to look at. Want to try the cornbread. My Hubs doesn't like kidney beans in chili and prefers beef not hamburger. And no sugar in the cornbread. He's from Arkansas...years ago...so he likes the Southern way. 😊

My husband grew up in the hills of West Virginia. Beans are always included. Trying new kinds of chili by following your recipes!
So glad to know I prefer pintos in my chili also. I also like great northern beans in my white chili
I make it and use it in all my chili recipes now.
substituting the crisco in your cornbread to bacon greese. Abkut a tablespoon in the mix and greese your pan. And yes, I agree .whole buttermilk
I see I’m about to make another trip to the grocery store because I don’t have everything I need, and now I’m determined to make chili tomorrow.😂
They all look delicious!
Its been cold here but will be making the white chili for my mom n step dad tomorrow. Hey y’all!!!!! Happy and blessed Friday to everyone!!! I had chili on my mind all day!!! Yayyy!!! New inspiration for supper!!! I just bought some chorizo and was wondering what to do with it!!!
I absolutely love chili. I loke to serve my chili over rice. Beans..no beans.. white..traditional..bring it on...😊
I eat flour tortillas with my chili. And I make cornbread for pinto beans in the crockpot. Yum!
❤ LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!❤
Don't change a thing!.
Addicted to ur meals and ur videos!! You make it work with what you have in the home!
Thank you
Happy to be here with the rest of y'all to comment on Mandy's video.
Do you have a recipe?
@@Spoke76 I don't always do the same thing every time. I usually follow the instructions on the box, but obviously alter things because I cook it in the crockpot not on the stove. I mostly use 1- 2 lbs cooked gr.beef ,1 or 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes, 1 or 2 cans pinto beans and the big seasoning packet it comes with. Sometimes I only add alittle of the cayenne pepper packet. I cook it on low about 4-6 hrs.
@@Spoke76you're welcome 🙂
I just found this channel and watch it every time you make a video and listen to the one that shows up at the end. I’m catching up 🥰
We love cornbread with our chili also but you need to try it with cast iron skillet that make wedges or sticks. You get more crust for dipping.
I couldn’t eat chili without beans … I love beans ( legumes ) in almost any form expect chick peas.
We had a cat in the 90’s who loved sauerkraut ….he wouldn’t leave your side until he got his bite of it
It’s funny that you all are making chili I’ve been thinking about making some thanks for your inspirations I’ve heard that the verdict is out that Gracie should have cheese at every meal it’s a must
I made the Killer White Chicken Chili last night. All the family LOVED it! Thanks! You've made me a hero!
Enjoyed watching all the chili recipes ❤️
Those all looked scrumptious, I must say. I'm a great lover of chili, and make it year round.
I was just saying yesterday I was going to make chili this weekend. Thanks Mandy.
How can you not love chilli? I’m having it tonight, delicious!
I love the white noise a beef searing
The Killer White Chili was awesome!
My mouth is drooling with all your chilli's yum
Hello Mandy and Steven I love Chili!❤😂😂😂❤❤❤
Finally some fall weather, added that white chicken chili to the grocery list for next week!
It’s still so hot here in Florida ! 😑 But I do love chili, that first one looks delicious!
Hi Mandy! Thank you for all you do!! We enjoy watching weekly and love your recipes! I am as I type making Grandma's cornbread. I was wondering, my Dad always greased his iron skillet then put it in the oven to warm up? Have you ever done this? Makes for a crispier bottom.
❤love your videos ❤you give us such GREAT recipes...I love the white chicken chili..an the corn
bread is the way I make mine too...its from my granny and my mom...I do put my pan in the oven an get it really hot
That way when you pour your batter in it sizzles..
Showing u that it's hot but when you turn it out you'll see the top and sides are crunchie..I love it..thanks for sharing..
Love it...❤😊
Darn I was hoping you'd show the Skillet Biscuit too! LOL
I agree. I’ve never had white chicken chili but I am inspired to make this recipe!!
It was 80° here yesterday, today it's 50°, that's Iowa, time for chili here too.
