Mandy and Steven, i just wanted to say that the way you spoke of your friend was lovely and as Christians we know he is with our loving God! Him being an organ donor was just a loving testament of his and his family, ❤️🙏🏻
As a transplant recipient myself, thank you for being there to support him and his family in that time of their life. It truly means a lot and I always cry when I hear about honor walks. Knowing how thankful my family is and hard it is for both sides. I appreciate you and his family for making those tough decisions for him to now be able to bless other lives. ❤
Dear mandy, I'm an older gentleman who pretty much just started doing my home cooking mainly due to my health. I have to say that watching you and Steven are one of the highlights of my day, you always bring a smile to my face. Thank you for that and all your recipes that I save on Pinterest. PS I also hate green peas!! And my Alexa is also called Ziggy LOL😅
Hey Mandy, I've got two celery tips you may have heard but...there may be some here that haven't. The celery you're using is absolutely fine to cook with but if you did want it to return to it's crispy state all you have to do is clean/trim and toss it in a container of cold water (can even add ice cubes) and soak it for awhile. This works for some other veg too like carrots. Also, if you mainly use celery to cook with....you can slice up the whole bunch...spread it out single layer on a parchment lined cookie sheet and stick it in the freezer. Break it up, toss in a freezer bag and you have no waste ready to go into your pot. I also do this freezer process with any kind of peppers and onions. None of these veg need to be blanched prior and wow it saves time in the kitchen.
Hi Mandy! Try putting the aluminum foil on the crust when you first put the pie in the oven. Then about 10 mins before it is done, remove the foil. That will keep it from burning. Love your videos!!
Sounds like he was a true disciple of the Lord and his ministry will live in the four lives he saved. May you and your friends live in his example and heal.
Dear Mandy and Steven, Thank you for sharing the story of your neighbor. Lord, Please bless this family and heal their hearts. Give them comfort and peace. God bless everyone. Amen✝️🙏🛐☝️❤️
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Hugs and prayers for his family. He sounds like he was a wonderful person We seriously need more people like him in this world. Heaven gained a wonderful angel Blessings to you all and his family
Hey sweet friend. I'm asking y'all to please pray. I went to the ER Sunday evening. I found out that I have 2 fistulas (caused by my Crohn's) that are connected from my bladder to my intestine. I have an infection around my intestine. I don't see my GI doctor till January. My hubby was just approved for total shoulder replacement surgery today after fighting to get it since 2009. Our youngest grandson gets tested next week for Autism. My hubbys cousin was told he needs a kidney transplant and goes next week for evaluation for it. We appreciate all the prayers in advance. God Bless.
I'm so sorry for this tragedy in your church family. I can say that he made a huge difference when he donated his organs. A week before his walk, our pastor received a new liver just in time and we are all so grateful for the donor. Maybe one day you all will know the people whose lives were saved. Love watching you two cook together and the times when Steven is the commentator.
I’m so sorry for this dear friend’s loss. I always have to remind myself when we lose the good ones that they are watching/helping us in heaven too. Many prayers to that dear friend’s family. Sending big hugs too!
Deepest condolences to your friend’s family and to you all. It’s so hard to understand losing someone so young. We all just have to be thankful for the blessing of having known the special folks around us.🙏🏻💜🙏🏻
@SuzieLandry-w4y. So sorry for what you are going through. You are starting the painful time when people think you have moved on. It takes a while even if you are deeply religious. I've been through that fire and have come out the other side. People say it gets better and it really does. Be sure to give yourself the same grace you would give to someone else .💖
😊😊😊Mandy have you tried cutting the ends off your celery, wash them and wrap in aluminum foil? It will stay fresh and crisp for up to six weeks. It's amazing❤❤❤
I second and third and on and on for this tip. How it extends the life of celery is in Steven's language, "A ... ma... zing". I do not cut off ends or wash first. Just get it out of the wrapper and into the foil airtight. 😢
I just have to comment on your friends generous life saving donation. I’m so very sorry for you and his family and friends for losing a special person. Isn’t it fitting for him to save lives as well as leading so many to saving their souls. You gave me chills when you said honor walk. It’s such a humbling experience. I received my first life saving transplant at 8 and I’m on my 2nd go around with double transplants now. God is so good. I’m praying for you all and know that you’ve made a difference informing people about transplantation. Thank you!!!
I am thrilled your transplants have been successful. My nephew donated a lobe of his liver to a coworker 9 years ago and she is doing fabulously. It was scary for him and his wife as he had never had surgery but they have never regretted it. The coworker had inherited a condition from her father that she wouldn’t have survived without a transplant.
I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Grateful that your friend knows the Lord! Mandy, you need what's called a pie shield for your pie edges. It's just a metal or silicone ring that covers the edge of the piecrust. Never tinker with foil and a hot plate again! ❤
I'm sorry for the family who lost their loved one. I lost my husband at 44 back in 96'. It's never easy losing someone so young, I know. Bless them as they struggle through these times. ❤
And bless you dear for the loss of your loved one. I also lost my husband just five years ago to brain cancer. I’ll never get over losing him. We were married 39 years. We have three sons who carry on his legacy. And they give me so much comfort as well as my six grandchildren! Cooking for my husband was my favorite thing to do bc he loved my cooking! And he never stopped telling me so. These TH-cam cooking videos give me lots of joy and also keep my mind focused. Plus Mandy and Steven give me such joy! Love them like family! Saying a little prayer for you during the holiday season bc it’s harder when it seems like everyone has someone except us, right! God bless.
How precious of your friend to continue to serve others by giving a new life to 4 people. His memories, generosity and love for the lord will be with you all and his family and friends forever. Praying for the Lord's comfort and peace to his family and friends today and the days to come.
Mandy, my daughter Mandy has been taking care of me since my widowmaker heart attack in July and and another episode in October. We found your show and love every thing about your show. Thank God for families like yours, I love hearing about your life with Christ. Prayers for your family friend, you all told that story now I feel like I know him. Prayers for his family. ❤
I am SO sorry to hear about the loss of your friend! My second husband suffered a major stroke from A-Fib that resulted in Broca's Aphasia, meaning that he could no longer do his job as a network engineer. He succumbed to major depression after several years living with his mental limitations. Prayers to the family of this young man, 40 is way too young to suffer a life robbing stroke like that! But thank the good Lord he chose to continue to serve by donating his organs. Definitely a man with a strong passion to just serve, even after death! Thank you for sharing.
I sat here watching you and Stephen do the update. The tears just rolled. I was already aware of the situation because of your community tab. God Bless his family for making the choice they did. I know the recipients will forever appreciate your friend and his family. Always a giving heart and soul. You WILL be able to hug him again. God Bless you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am so sorry for your loss. I cried hearing about his walk at the hospital, he sounds like an incredible person to know and what a testimony. Well done good and faithful one ❤
Alabama is very cold for this time of year! We got down to 18 this morning early! 🥶 Mandy Im praying for your friends family and Im praying for you and family also. I just enjoy watching your videos! God Bless You!
What kind words in memory of your friend. May he rest in heavenly peace. 🙏😢 A pie crust tip I use is to place the foil loosely around the pie edges before the pie goes into the oven. Then take the foil off about 10 minutes before the pie is finished. No burnt edges and no burning your fingertips.
Years ago my daughter made chicken pot pie (we like potatoes in ours) and we were out of potatoes. She subbed instant mashed potatoes. It added so much flavor and helped thicken the sauce.
It is such a blessing that your friends was an organ donor. For those who wonder they can harvest organs to help as many as 21 people. You stating he was a man of service was certainly shown in this final donation. Bless your hearts for your unwavering kindness.
I am so very sorry to hear the tragic loss of your dear friend. He sounds like an incredible person who was loved by many may he rest in peace. I will continue to pray for his family. 🙏 These comfort dishes look amazing I will definitely try and that Merry in the making ornament looks so cute and how fitting so sweet of the person to send. 🤗
You both are so precious! I don't know how you did it, but you both look like you've lost a lot of weight. You are a blessing to so many of us who depend on the internet for socialization. God Bless you both.
So very sorry for the loss of what appears to be a wonderful man that touched many. At the end his work still wasnt finished as he saved 4 lives. So incredible and so heartwarming it brought tears to my eyes. Many prayers for healing for all affected.
So very sorry about the loss of your friend. It is always a difficult time for everyone. Knowing he was an organ donor proved what a special person he really was. My hand is up for the skillet taters! 🖐
Great recipes today! I never thought about chili over fried taters but I've had it over mashed taters. Steven is correct, Cholula makes everything taste better, especially the smoky Chipotle flavor. I like peas in my beef stew along with a can of V8. I make what I call "stoup", a mix of stew and soup cause I don't know which one I really want. I have a hat just like "Merry in the Making", but it's not good in the rain. Happy cooking!
I am so sorry for your Loss. He sounds like a beautiful human being. Sending my Thoughts and Prayers for you,his family and your Church family from Pennsylvania.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. He was obviously an amazing man and may he rest in peace, knowing that he left this world a better place. It takes a selfless person to make the organ donations that he did. He's made a huge difference in the lives of those recipients. xxx
Condolences to you, your family as well as your friend's family.Hugs to you all.Thank you for sharing your story with us.💕💕Bless you all. Ps.Your ornament was really cute ! I can't wait to try the pie ! Have a great weekend y'all !
Mandy, I have a celery hack for you. Wrap your celery in a wet paper towel and then wrap the celery and paper towel in aluminum foil. It says fresh for a very long time. Give it a try. Love your videos!!
Your friend’s legacy will live on through generations of those he donated organs to. My prayers go out to his family. Im glad y’all had the time off but I sure was missing y’all. BTW..I made the Cajun sausage and potatoes with a twist. After dividing into servings, I scrambled eggs, spooned on top and turned them into breakfast bowls. Yum!
Your friend sounds like a special soul who will Never be in the past tense....so he IS. Use the celery leaves, a lot of flavor hits in there. When coating meat with flour I use a.plastic bag and shake ...no mess. You are both special souls too. Thank you for brightening my menus and my week.
I use aluminum foil for potpie crust by pre making ahead of time, either cutting a hole in sheet of foil to match the pie plate or cutting strips and making long piece to wrap around later. Also wrapping celery stalk in foil helps it last longer. And one last thing Mandy, we all enjoy watching whether it is you alone or with Steven but,as you say,you enjoy it when he is there. Yall together are a whole united front in your marriage and it shows. Better together. 😊
Mandy and Steven, as always, you are both such amazing individuals! What you’ve done for your friend and your strong commitment to God, is so wonderful to see!!! I am honored to have found your channel and truly enjoy each and every video you make. I am honestly thinking of giving your cookware a try, I love each piece! ❤
Dear Mrs. Trumble, I just said a prayer for both you and your husband. What a terrible situation for you. Continued prayers will be said that your abdomenal infection clear quickly and those fistulaS heal soon. As a nurse, I understand what you are dealing with and you are so strong!!!
When I am coating meat to fry, I put my flour mixture with the spices in a gallon bag, put in the meat, close and shake. It works wonderfully and no mess everywhere.
Oh, Mandy! After being in the hospital and having biopsies snd surgeries, im finally home! What a great way to start my day! Watching your video's inspire me to cook. Thank you for all you do. God Bless you.
🤚🏼🤚🏼🤚🏼🤚🏼. First of all, I am so sorry for the loss of your amazing friend. I have you and his family in my prayers. All of those dishes looked amazing. My beef stew is very similar to yours. I add golden mushroom or beefy mushroom soup to it and it adds such amazing flavor. Thank you for sharing these recipes.
So sorry to hear about the passing of what sounds like a wonderful friend. It sounds like he has left a great legacy . Then to save 4 lives on the way out. Just wow. He will be having a joyous Christmas with our Lord this year and forever. You are also wonderful people and friends to give your help to the family. God bless. PS it took me a week and a half to get my Christmas up.
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Thank you for sharing his story. I had never heard of the Honor Walk, and that sounded beautiful. Well don’t get to have people like him in our lives so you are blessed. Thank you, Stephen and Mandy. ❤
It seems that everything you make looks so good. Today you made stew and I don't like stew but I am going to try your version. My mom made stew with peas. Oh not good. lol Also I was brought to tears about the friend you had to say goodbye to here on earth. I also remember that God always knows best. I lost my husband to a stroke over 8 years ago. Our children were already grown. This family is on my prayer list. Thank you for cooking for us. Looks so good.
So glad it's "warmed" up to 31 this afternoon in Northern Illinois! Night before last the wind was blowing up to 52 mph, with a wind chill of 1 degree. Brrrr. Love your family so much!
So sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Sending prayers of comfort for his family. It's sometimes hard to understand God's plan when such good and special people are taken so soon. Blessings to you both for helping out his family while they were/have been going through a very rough and devastating time. I've always gotten the McCormack's Poultry Seasoning, usually in the little little short red containers now. Usually alphabetical on the spice shelf. Since was holiday time the store might have had it out on an end cap somewhere, because everyone uses it with turkey and dressing meals. That's where I see it at holiday time.
So very sorry about the loss of your friend but happy to know you know exactly where he is. He sounds like an amazing individual who generously gave to others during his entire life. What a blessing.
Omg his life is giving me the juice i needed to revv up and get back to thinking of others. Thank you. What an amazing testament to a life I am proud of you, Mandy. You did an absolute beautiful- PERFECT job explaining everything. I love you all.
I’m so very sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Do you think it might be possible to see the cooking video he did so we can get to know him also? Keeping everyone who loved him in my prayers. ❤❤❤
So sorry for the loss of your friend. What a beautiful testimony for his servitude to Jesus and for giving as an organ donor. Prayers for his family, your church family, and y’all.
I use very "mature" vegetables in soups too. Better than throwing them out. Also, you could have coated the beef by tossing it with a fork 😂. Love Merry in the Making. So fitting ❤. Everything looks so good. Hands up 🙌🏼 on skillet taters. Having seasonally colder 🥶 weather in Iowa too. Also, blessings & prayers for you and the families & friends of your loved one who went home to be with the LORD 🙏🏼. Love y'all.
Hey Mandy, and Steven , I’m truly sorry for the loss of your friend. It’s never easily losing anyone, and my heart goes out to your family and your friend’s family.. keeping everyone in prayer as you/they navigate through the holidays and the times after without him. Praying Gods Grace, Mercy and blessings on everyone..
Hi Mandy and family just wanted to let you know i will not be able to watch you all on my phone since things have been tight with money but will try to watch you on our laptop and since November my daughter has been gone down there in South Carolina helping my in-laws out and yes it has been cold 🥶 down in the teens here in Chicopee Massachusetts and thanks for sharing these tips and recipes sending you all much love and everyone that is in need of prayers from me and my family ❤😊
First of all, congratulations on the growth of your channel. I think it was at 40K when I started watching. Thank you for the comfort food as I live in Erie PA and you may know that we are a snow covered city right now. I love making beef stew and chicken pot pie as well. I make a crockpot beef stew.
What a testimony of your friends life here on Earth! He had a heart of giving and love and I'm sure that's a great loss and he's missed terribly, but to be able to talk about the life of a person and smile through it just shows what a blessing he truly was. God bless his family. 🙏 Hands up for them tators 🖐Nice video Mandy and Steven ❤
A trick I recently learned that is perfect to share with you is, wash floppy celery and put in bowl of ice water in fridge for about an hour. It restores the crispness!! The reason it gets soft like that is because of the high water content in it that evaporated from just sitting in fridge. 😊
what a blessing this man was to everyone, Sorry for your loss, I know his family and friends are missing him. God called him home. Praise the Lord, he's in good hands. I will continue to pray for his family so they will know comfort and peace.
I found some of the best beef stew was made with steak trimmings. I get a steak pack from the butcher shoppe, and have to trim it down for the vacuum sealer. So I take the trimmings (pieces I don’t want to bite in to as a steak) and it comes out great. Trimmings also get used as CFS nuggets.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. It must be comforting to know he was a servant of the Lord and did his job well for that many people to show up for his honor walk. I’m sure Gracie Lou was waiting to greet him, and she now has a familiar face in a friendto be with her. God bless your family and his family many prayers.
Hey Mandy, heres my tip about refrigerator pie crust. I get out a rolling pin, go over the crust a few times. It will stretch it just enough that you will have some extra crust edge for fluting. 😊 love your channel 🪶
I had always used Pillsbury pie crust bu5 tried Great Value recently and it was much easier to work with. I can make crust from scratch myself, but it isn't worth the frustration. I have that same pie pan.
Prayers for the family. I know what they are going through as my dad passed away late Thursday night. My mom passed away on the 16th of November last year. It's very hard at times but I take comfort in knowing they are with Jesus and they had a love so powerful that even death couldn't keep them apart for long. Two hands up for fried taters and onions. I start my onions in butter and get them almost caramelized before adding more butter and the taters. That's some good eatin'.
My dad actually received his donor liver on Thanksgiving. We were so blessed. Prayers for y’all.

Mandy, you can bring celery back to life by cutting a little off the end and placing it in a glass of water, in about an hr you have nice crisp celery
Yum!
Egg wash in the pie crust will prevent burning. I cried when you talked about your wonderful friend. A servant even in death!
I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend. What an amazing man. His friends and family will be in my prayers.
🙌 Thanks guys for the friend update and the great recipes, you are such a beautiful testimony for the Lord, so glad He put you all in my life.
Dear Mrs. Trumble, I just said a prayer for both you and your husband. What a terrible situation for you. Continued prayers will be said that your abdomenal infection clear quickly and those fistulaS heal soon. As a nurse, I understand what you are dealing with and you are so strong!!!
Mandy, frozen peas are not mushy if you don't overcook them and they have a much fresher flavor. 😊
Yes, that's the only way I eat peas. I can't stand canned peas.
Truth! I LOVE peas! And you would to if you used frozen.
It’s the canned peas that are mushy…ugh
When I am coating meat to fry, I put my flour mixture with the spices in a gallon bag, put in the meat, close and shake. It works wonderfully and no mess everywhere.
Oh, Mandy! After being in the hospital and having biopsies snd surgeries, im finally home! What a great way to start my day! Watching your video's inspire me to cook. Thank you for all you do. God Bless you.
Hope you're home recovering well. We'll continue to pray for you.
I hope you start feeling better soon! ❤🙏

You need to share the video in honor of him. Share with us the man he was. Let him touch more lives ❤
I put the foil on for the 1st 20 mins. then I take it off for the pie crust. Blessings and continued prayers for your friends family.
So sorry for your loss... prayers offered for his family and friends... He is now with God... Thanks for sharing his testimony...
So glad it's "warmed" up to 31 this afternoon in Northern Illinois! Night before last the wind was blowing up to 52 mph, with a wind chill of 1 degree. Brrrr. Love your family so much!
Stevens, doing such a great job of stating what he loves abt the meals, the flavors, spiciness etc❤
Sounds like your friend had a life well lived. We are always lucky to cross paths with people like that during our lives.
So sorry for your loss of your good friend. He sounds like a great servent.Thoughtful of you to be there.prayers for his family 🙏💕,and for your family
So very sorry about the loss of your friend but happy to know you know exactly where he is. He sounds like an amazing individual who generously gave to others during his entire life. What a blessing.
Mandy…just read the posts ..brought tears to my eyes ❤❤❤
Omg his life is giving me the juice i needed to revv up and get back to thinking of others. Thank you. What an amazing testament to a life
I am proud of you, Mandy.
❤ Sounds like you all were blessed for having known him.
It's very cold with lots of snow 22f , we definitely need cozy warm meals here in Barnesville New Brunswick Canada
🙋♀️
Love y'all.
Thank you so much for the encouragement and prayers! ❤️
Suggestion …. If I have celery hanging around too long I chop it and freeze it. Works perfectly!
I am not enjoying this cold weather here in West Georgia 🥶. Love that floppy celery that Steven is playing with 😂
First of all, congratulations on the growth of your channel. I think it was at 40K when I started watching. Thank you for the comfort food as I live in Erie PA and you may know that we are a snow covered city right now. I love making beef stew and chicken pot pie as well. I make a crockpot beef stew.
A little off topic your workout is making you look amazing. You must be proud of yourself "You go girl"
What a sweet thing to say. Thank you!
C
Cut a slice off the bottom and it can soak the water better. Stand it in a glass.
Oh wow! Thanks for the tip! That's super helpful! 😊
what a blessing this man was to everyone, Sorry for your loss, I know his family and friends are missing him.
Congratulations on 325K Subscribers!! ❤
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️
I love skillet taters; I'm from NOLA adding some shrimp with the seasoning you're using...YUM YUM
Hi NOLA. I lived there in 1992. Loved the food and people.
So sorry about your friend. Heartbreaking for his family but wonderful that their loss gave life to 4 others. What a great legacy.
Mandy could you please make a chicken taco soup?
I am so sorry for her loss of such a wonderful man! I will be praying for you and his family¡❤😊😊
I love chili on a baked potato
Prayers for the family. I know what they are going through as my dad passed away late Thursday night. My mom passed away on the 16th of November last year. It's very hard at times but I take comfort in knowing they are with Jesus and they had a love so powerful that even death couldn't keep them apart for long. Two hands up for fried taters and onions. I start my onions in butter and get them almost caramelized before adding more butter and the taters. That's some good eatin'.
@@SharonG-ip3ll oh I'm so very sorry for your losses!!!!!
Such a lovely story about your friend. His place in heaven is a special place. ❤
Thank you for your kind words.
Whenever I need to put some joy into my life, i pull up a Mandy and Steven vid. Thank you!
