    That is some of the funnest fishing, when you have visibility better than 20ft and throw a BIG walking bait out and watching a bass come out and just inhale it! Thanks for the tips🎣

    Glad to watch.Heard about the Alabama shake from you then I heard a song on the radio and they said Alabama shake I said bet they talking about what Matt was talking about .I like finesse jigs caught some big bass on them. Even use light wire hook on worm luckily haven't straitened it out. Preciate information. Good luck.

    My number one determining factor in which swim jig I use is the number of bristles in the weed guard for the waters and weeds I am fishing.in weedier lakes I always like to spread the weed guard out for maximum protection against snags.Same goes for all jigs.

    I agree 100% about hook size I like the thinnest hook I can get needle point it’s so much easier to set the hook when using those big thick hooks you need to really anchor down to set that hook top notch video hope people understand your reasoning 90 % of us don’t need heavy hooks

    That California Swim Jig will plow thru just about anything. When I can’t get them to bite I always throw on your Guppy Head. That swimbait head is money! Thanks Matt

  • @chrisjones720

    For the Jack no can you throw it on Braid with a Flourocarbon Leader? That’s how I usually fish my swim jigs in clear water

    Matt what do you mean by a boot style trailer ?

  • @sonnygreen9698
    @sonnygreen9698 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Anytime I feel like I need a spinning rod for what that species may be I will use that finesse swim jig, I even use it for trout and it works quite well with a Missile baits Bomb shot as a trailer.
    Love what you had to say here man, great content as always, maybe that’s because I’m such a big fan of Dirty Jigs, especially their swim jigs, they are hard to beat.
    Thanks for the content !!!

    Great comparisons Matt.
    My question is in what situations would a a Spinnerbait prevail over the Standard DJ Swim jig or vice versa? Any Blade combination.

    • @MattStefanFishing

      I’ll probably do a video on it, but i in a nutshell i prefer a spinnerbait in muddy water or when fishing sparse cover

    Another good vid man! South Florida (Lake O) guy here and big no jack/Dirty Jigs fan. Whats your take on the California jig with the no jack hook for down here? Cant find anyone that uses them or at least willing to talk haha.

    • @MattStefanFishing
      @MattStefanFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a good swim jig, but i prefer it for sparser cover or deep weeds. I don’t think it comes through thick emergent weeds as good as the bullet head shape of the no-jack

    I live in Florida and I throw the regular swim jig 90% of the time. Works like a champ. They need to make the skirt about 40 strand, 50 is too much. I have to cut them as soon as they come out of the package.

  • @jamesh7469
    @jamesh7469 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How low could you go on the line for the finesse swim jig if you were fishing like 15’ visibility for smallies? Could I safely set the hook on 8lb ?

    • @MattStefanFishing
      @MattStefanFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you removed the weedguard completely id say yes. Otherwise I wouldn't go lower than 10lb in my opinion
