Great Tip Matt I've been trying this out with a few different baits. One thing I learned from making my own spinnerbaits I'm a blade nut and I like to change the blades on my spinnerbaits So I use a very good quick release Clevis might be something to try in this because you may need to adjust the blade on the back of the bait rather than having to try and tear that off with the heat shrink could be a lot easier to switch out the blade. You probably lose a few blades from a strike but that's definitely worth it if it means more fish in the boat. Lose a few blades from a strike with the quick change clevis but that's definitely worth. This Sometimes happens to me when I get big small mouth to come up and blast a bait, a blade flies off but again if it means catching a nice size fish I'll sacrifice a blade or two..
I hope your channel is very successful. I could have used your advice this past Tuesday. I caught two fish witch weighted over 10 lbs. there was more to be had. I appreciate the tips.
I just saw a video about VMC brand treble hooks with a spinner blade. They look pretty good if you put them on crankbaits and stuff with trebles on the back. Do you like weighted hooks with a belly spinner for soft plastics? I haven't used it much but I caught a spotted bass on one in Lake Rhodehiss , upriver from Lake Norman. I put a fluke on it and was kinda surprised when I caught a fish 😂.
Hi Matt. Just recently discovered your channel and love your videos; so well-explained. Especially this here is a great tip. Thank you! I'm more of a pike fisherman, than going specifically for bass. But also with the toothy critters, I am convinced that this will get me a ton more bites. So thank you! 👍👍 I noticed that you did not mount a soft plastic trailer on the swim jig and the spinnerbait when you added the blade on the hook. Is that because the two would interfere with each other, or was it just for demonstration purposes in the video?
Great tip Matt! I like this a lot! For the buzzbait, have you considered taking the legs off and putting blades in place of the legs or do you feel the legs are more important than the extra flash and/or vibration that can be gained. Therefore, you do it the way you recommended? I fish a stick bait wacky style a lot. I’ve considered putting blades on the ends of my stick baits. I just haven’t tried it yet. Have you ever tried that?
Don't be afraid of the close up. Bring it in for your visual learners. I talk about "Frankenstein baits"; going into the garage and doing mods in my vids too. Sometimes the creative creatures or mods work; some times they don't.
Really like this episode like to have a colored blade on those applications as a trail blade white or chartreuse can't wait to tinker around with it
thanks for sharing
I’ve been doing this since 1982 with great results
Awesome!
You got all kind of stuff I'll be trying these thanks alot.
No problem!
Thanks for sharing a new technique in changing up a standard bait.
Thanks for the feedback! Lots of cool things simple changes can change up a bait!

Nice material!! Appreciate you sharing your knowledge
Surgical tubing works really well for baits with trailers because you can take it off and on in order to change trailers.
thanks
I got hooked on the swimjig with blade last year and I been killing it all year this year

On my wife’s phone all terrain tackle use to make a jig with a spinner blade on it so think of jig and pig but it is a jig and blade
Neat!

Blades work great on a buzzbait and on a stick ait

War baits makes these jigs with blades and sells them on their website
Thanks!
Matt do you stay with the same size blade for like the swim jig ?
No I’ll play around with blade size. Generally smaller for clear water, bigger for dirty
