my favorite thing about these 80s hondas, carbed or fi'd, is that if you just barely hold the throttle on decel they crackle like crazy. Nut worthy sound man

About 22 years ago i bought my Prelude as a young man that just got his drivers license and i swear you're doing just about everything i wanted to do to it back then but couldn't ever do.
Lowering springs were impossible to find for this car here in Holland back then, exhaust wasn't findable etc etc, it just wasn't THE car to mod back then.... everyone wanted the small hatchbacks like VW golfs, Opel GSI's, Civic's and CRX's to modify ..... those you could find a lowering set for at every autoparts shop but not the Lude :( not to mention the exhaust system.
I cut the springs to lower it..... not a good idea.... i went too far and had no way to get it back up so i ended up with a car that was un-drivable without severely pealing the tires and scraping just about the entire bottom of the car..... messed up the oil pan and transmission and lots of other stuff so it eventually got scrapped.
But it looked cool standing still tho..... all black and on 16" TSW Venoms (don't judge, they were still cool back then) tucked to the rim inside the wheel well... it couldn't drive an inch without the tires rubbing but it looked boss as fuck!
Your Prelude videos are my way of re living what i wanted to do to my first car but in the correct way so thank you very much..... excuse the long ass read... i got a little nostalgic watching this.
Edit: Btw, have you ever considered installing leather CRX seats from the same era? They came in the V tec's and i always thought they would look cool in mine.
I’ve got the same 2.5 inch stainless steel exhaust from Trubendz for my 3rd gen! I have a DC sports header JDM style 2.5 outlet, Magnaflow resonator and muffler. Love the sound!! Did the H22 swap and full suspension rebuild this past summer, handles like a dream and crazy fun to drive.

@@bandettklein Magnaflow website for muffler and tip, TruBendz for piping and resonator. The DC sports header I purchased for my H22 swap is part # HHC5029 and might not be available anymore new.

Canada here...nice...sounds good never reaches to ricey lol...now...underneath... same as before with lube but this time asphalt undercoat, spray can...start by Get rid of rust, lca...n so on...I would clean n paint, sway bar. Etc...as usual...keep turning that wrench... one love

This is my favorite car had a 1989 Honda prelude si with a sports gear it was automatic but it had the AWS system on it I loved that but wish I could find another one

Sounds very good..I literally just put 2.5 electronic exhaust cut-off on my 3rd gen & with a hit on the key fob button my lude goes into beast mode,..no ricey buzzn bees, it grunts with bass & at idol sounds like a turbo srt4 no bs...i hit the button & the whole neighborhood knows im here, i hit the other button & im steath mode. This is the type of mod that will leave you with multi facial expressions 🤣 😯😂🤣🥳🤯🤪🙂😃😄Fyi your vid on your interior blackout was dope & blunt worthy. Proud 3rd gen owner.. Covidlude-19'91🤫

I Almost got the same trubendz pipe, but in 2.25". I'm thinking of doing a manganaglow muffler, something stock+ maybe.
Love the noise. My car has a D16A8 from a CRX and i am full stainless with j's racing headers and a k&n performance intake. Need to install that cat though. But full SRS exhaust it sounds killer. Love that. Nice car bro.

This vid was dope cause i just found the same problem on my lude last weekend. completely cracked right by the muffler actually haha. Im trying to find anyone able to fix it and the pipe has been hard to find in a timely manner. Im also headed to exhaust/ muffler shop friday soo.. wish me luck lol. Your Lude is v cute btw! :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it as much as I do creating them! Most any exhaust shop should be able to get you squared away pretty easily so I wouldn’t worry! Prepare to have a better sounding and probably more efficient running lude 🤘🏼

Have u thought about getting a carbon fiber hood? Easy way to shave ~30lbs off the front end and looks great esp on black :)

The trubenz wouldn't fit? I just got the 2.5" for my 1990 4WS and trying to find a company to install it. What was the actual problem? Was something missing on the prelude to begin with?
It needed a flex pipe added to make it installable at least on my lude. I brought it by an exhaust shop and they welded it all up and took care of me

I just got my 3rd gen prelude today and everything was great; the AC blew cold and fan worked fine, but later that day, the fan won't even turn on anymore while engine is running/i'm driving, but when I turn the car off and turn it on with just power without starting the engine, the fan and AC worked again! But stopped working again once i start the engine.... Any idea why? Thanks!!

Seriously. .. put a Flowmaster 40 Series on it if you want raw Honda engineering sound. I had straight pipe, no cat, with Flowmaster 40 Series from salvage yard on my 4th gen Prelude S, f22b, ligit sounded better than a C6/7 Corvette, lol. I miss my Honda/Toyota Supra.. 😂🔰 But bout to go look at 3rd gen and hope to be successful with the find. Needs tran, but is auto and NEED manual have buddy with H22 engine mounts on his cracked H22 block swapped 3rd gen Lude.

Ooof not many man. The forums and ebay are your best bets for aftermarket parts. Rockauto.com for some generic parts
