As far i know the scents are not meant to smell like the animals named ,but rather their habitats

Interesting, I had never heard of this brand before being given a tester strip of Boar in Bloom last week. I was intrigued. I mostly got an earthy vetiver leather vibe from it. I should have brought a sample home.

@@Persolaise you're welcome. I haven't seen anyone else review this brand and, as a woman I probably wouldn't have sought this out if I had seen the marketing first. 🙂

@@sharfalor4244 That's an interesting point. Marketing isn't always helpful.

To me this looks far more like some people who have gone on a quest in search of true and honest masculinity. They have ventured into nature to do so and have explored qualities which traditionally have been labeled as being positive as well as some more critically seen ones. The animals in their innocent animalic form, which is devoid of a rational perception of self, personify and represent these characteristics, similar to spirit animals in Native American cultures, it seems. The experience of pefume can be just as honest, pure and instinctive and touch deeply rooted realms inside us. And as humans we have the opportunity to observe our individual reactions to the smells they have probably been quite carefully selecting for each perfume. Men and women alike may explore their masculine instinctive side and in the best case develop a new vision, inner harmony or understanding of true self in the process. Or it could be a celebration of qualities we all possess, regardless of the different labels different societies have put on them.
To me this seems a rather cool idea.

Thanks for this, Heinke. It’s certainly an interesting idea. I just wonder if the marketing blurb isn’t a bit dubious.

@@PersolaiseI understand why you would. It sounds provocative in a sort of borderline way. I believe that is intended. A polemical choice.
While still not many people seem to have a problem with either totally sugar coated or highly sexualized images of women in publicity. Just some food for thought....

To be honest I don't see the innocent animals part valued as you say (see goat and boar i.e.) and don't see it for men's representation either. It sounds as if it wanted to be profound but fails by being too literal and superficial. It is quite reductive for both men and animals. Of course, instincts are there for both species and I agree that everyone can tap in it. Men and women. Here, they talk about men in a quite basic way in my opinion. As for the symbolic nature it stays also very superficial. Sounds more like a marketing tool to me than real profound interest for animals, traditions etc...Also, the perfume bottles look more basic virile to me than natural and savage. To me the brand seems to appeal more to young men who want to show off their masculinity.

Very interesting but silly as it sounds ‘ being a vegetarian’ the names and descriptions are off putting.

Are you a vegetarian? I have to say that I was a bit annoyed by the description of some animal attributes by the brand. I love and respect animals (that's why I became a vegetarian...almost vegan) and don't really like when they are used to sell stuff and in addition being wrongly represented in a very clichesque way.
