    I actually shed a tear when I first experienced this from a sample. Other people have mentioned that feeling. I never thought I would have such a reaction, but lo and behold. I tried Mitsouko the next day. It is a masterpiece. But I couldn’t shake this from my mind. How could something so vintage be so relevant? Perhaps, I’m unrefined. But I would think modern perfumery, with what I would assume has more advanced techniques, could rival something made in this era - for that reason, alone. But, no. This is so evocative. My decant is very, very light. I know that’s probably how it is meant to be experienced. I can’t help but be a hedonic, overindulgent philistine and want to turn up the volume. But this is so refined; it’s an absolute masterpiece.

      Hi Carrie, is the current formulation near to this vintage version? I have never triedit but your description (as well as the live review) has brought it to life in a way that I don't think I've ever experienced before xxx

    Lucky you! Apres L’ondee is phenomenal in how it evokes emotions and cinematic scenes and music and colors and loneliness .I remember when you asked Rodrigo Flores Roux if there were any perfumes he wished he had created what would they be and he immediately answered Apres L’ondee. For a subtle perfume, it makes a gigantic impact. I could enjoy listening to you talk about this forever. Congratulations on your purchase ! Happy New Year!

    Apres L’ondée is a magical creation that evokes the brilliant creative movement that existed in Paris in 1906. Jacques remains the greatest perfumer the world has seen. Great video. Many thanks.

    Wow! I love the eau de toilette but never had the chance to smell the extrait. A very melancholic dreamy beautiful perfume! A poem or impressionistic painting which morphed into a perfume.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it definitely shares something with Impressionism.

    Hello my name is Kevin Verspoor. Aka Perfume Kev I have be perfuming since I was18 I am now almost 50. I love Geurlain’s with a passion. Not to criticize but just to add is that the Eugenol note is probably also IsoEugenol (very carnation). ISO eugenol is way more restricted in modern Perfumery. It’s one of the greatest perfumes ever created. I adore it! The fragrance has a purple and blue connotation to the olfactice accords, the herbal Geurlain notes give it such a beautiful counterpoint to the sweeter Iris/ Violet/ heliotrope notes. AWSOME REView!!! Of an an incredibly well made perfume, Thank You 😎

    I love Apres L’ondee but only have it in the EDT, which is so beautiful and melancholy that it could make me weep. I cannot even imagine what the abstrait could be like. Enjoy it!

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well… oddly, the extrait is perhaps less melancholy, because the dryness of the iris is softened by the florals. But it’s still indescribably beautiful.

    Hi there, for the last couple of months I've been nose diving into the niche fragrance world. As of right now I have my eyes set on L’Artisan Parfumeur, Frédéric Malle, Serge Lutens, Tauer Perfumes, Diptyque, Nishane, Tom Ford (not really niche), but my gateway niche brand was Imaginary Authors. Does this perfumer share the same fate as Memo Paris? I saw your review of one of their fragrances.

      @@Persolaise Well it functioned as a gateway scent so we'll see where I am with the brand in a couple of months. Just tried the Francesca Bianchi discovery set and and very pleased I bought it.
      Un Bois Vanille from Serge Lutens has me in its grasp as does Olivia Giacobetti's Premier Figuier. Today I will receive the Collection Noire set from Serge Lutens and I can smell Féminité du bois, Fils de Joie and Ambre Sultan for the first time.
      I’m still training my nose to really discover Timbuktu from L’Artisan Parfumeur. Maybe it’s the sample I got, it’s so subtle. I will have to buy the L’Artisan Parfumeur’s discovery set again I gave to someone as a birthday gift.
      The brands I have on my radar are: Les Indemodables, Tauer Perfumes, Amouage, Frédéric Malle, Zoologist, Guerlain, Aesop, Parle Moi de Parfum, Ulrich Lang, Chanel, Cartier, Hermès, Comme des Garcons, Etat Libre d'Orange and so on… some brands are difficult to get 2ml samples from though. I’m in Amsterdam. Hope to catch you live
