    Nissan sells the plug for the exhaust manifold so there’s no need to weld it. The plug makes for a cleaner look, too. Its cost is $13 and some change.
    The part number is: 14052-21R00.

      @@Brooklyn_Powers about to get one of these for my new 1993 2.4L, but the parts websites I look at say it wouldn't be compatible... I should just get it anyways right? there's no reason it wouldn't fit right?

    • @Brooklyn_Powers
      @Brooklyn_Powers 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RacecarsAndRicefish That’s exactly what I have, ‘93 S13 KA24DE, if you use that part number and your exhaust manifold is original to your engine: It should work. If not, return it. It worked on mine and I’ve been driving around a year, with no problems! Let me know how it works out for you. By the way, I went to Nissan and bought it in person, they had to order it if I remember right. Good luck!

    Great real world video...Subbed! On my latest LS build I did CAT, rearO2s,, AIR, EGR delete, had to use hp tuners to retune and turn off the DTCs, and get the idle right, used an ls6 valley cover with the PCV system built in...simple and cleaned up the engine bay a lot..but do NOT delete your PCV unless you have a catch can or effective breather system.

    OffBeat Garage, from a fellow 240 NA KA owner, there is a BIG PROBLEM with the coolant line delete! your car will overheat instantly. So last year I deleted the coolant line going from the block to the thermostat housing (in the exact way you did). I bleeded the coolant system properly, and every time, the engine will overheat within 15 minutes. So I put the threaded fitting and a new coolant plate back on, ran the rubber line from the block to the thermostat housing and boom....no more overheating. I track the car hard 2 months later and til this day I have no heating issues. BTW, I have an autometer digital water temp gauge which works perfectly....no stock temp gauge.
    Go to the FSM and look at the coolant diagram. There are two hot coolant inlets going to the thermostat housing. You blocked off one of them causing the hot coolant to not reach the thermostat as it should which caused the thermostat to not open quick enough or at all.

    • @OffBeatGarage
      @OffBeatGarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The car doesn't overheat and does track events in 110F weather. I run no thermostat. Car bleeds within a minute or two, much faster than stock. Thank you for your concern though

    When you remove the rod traversing the 4 intake runners,you create a air leak between the 4 cylinders.
    It will mess up the flow of each one you are supposed to improve ,removing the blades.
    those leaks will make the cylinders pull air of each others,and create transversal turbulences in the ports.
    the air speed obtained thanks to the specific shape and length of the runners is messed up now.
    At worst,let the rod in.

      EGR delete has no benefit on performance. EGR only takes place when the throttle plate is closed or at low power demand such as idling when parked, or at cruising speeds.

      That high pitch sound when you turn off the car and hear it when its running. is cause by the little screw that hold the butterflies in the middle of the manifold. that is where that high pitch is coming from you can always test if theres a vacuum leak with your trusty brake clean.
