The amount of work done since the last stream yesterday is crazy awesome. The Castle compound build is impressive as it comes together. Salute to all the builders and workers.
It'll remain as the first great milestone even if it would eventually be pale in comparison against Minas Tirith and Olympus Pantheon in the future.

Devs probably didn't expect people to come together so quick and mass build stuff.
They should have, because the game looks great.
Asmongold is sort of an outlier. Not everyone is a huge streamer with 1000s of viewers who will jump into whatever he’s playing haha
This game looks incredible, the mere idea of being able to make your house however you want in the Middle Ages already makes this mmo worth it, they just need to continue adding things to do apart from that

This playthrough with making the clan for the viewers is one of the coziest streams I’ve ever seen of yours. This and Stanley Parable are my favorites from Zack 😂
"The forest" playtthrough was pretty great too until someone blew up his house with a grenade 😂😂
This is the best advertising this game could have possibly done.
I like to imagine this game having large faction made and ran cities, that solo players have to navigate as a small citizen in a large world. I think its cool that there will be an entirely different experience for solo vs large group players, just like it should be in an mmo.
This mmo won't be a threat to wow or ff14

it cracks me the adhd going on. Tells people to come to a spot and line up, doesn't even wait more than 60 secs as more people are showing up and runs off in a random direction. then randomly runs back to find the line again, beauty

Holy freaking hell, it started with Asmon & gang couldn't even chop down a tree, to some random stone building and everyone standing around, now a gorgeous castle!!! Nice one guys!!! Looks so awesome!!!
This is the closest game we have looking like Skyrim, only you build your own world around you with friends. This video reminded me when I watched Fellowship Of The Ring for the first time, the feeling of adventure and danger. This really is amazing!
Dang, I have not been this legitimately tempted to buy a game Asmon played since Vampire Survivors, this scratches that builder game itch well for me.

The game now just needs a reason to build a safe house and further on a castle.
It needs enemies - sieges perhaps. Just like in Valheim, random enemies can spawn
The devs should rework the land claim system so there's private and clan claims. Private claims should be fixed size while clan claims can be expanded by using resources that exponentially become more expensive. Have it so the clan claims don't just expand outward on all sides, have it so the elders and chief can choose where the claim expands
And also the more players you have in your clan, it lowers the exponential cost of expanding the claim
Great idea, hopefully they rework the clan plots because it looks really tedious.

The king then commanded his men to march up the tallest mountain carrying stones and trees... Many died and the quest was all for naught... But with every mistake comes a lesson 😂
MASSIVE GUILDS AND MASSIVE WORLD PVP WOULD GO CRAZY... They could also do all kinds of love stalk and breeding and cooking and fishing and tertiary stuff
Though with games like these. I'd much prefer to be a villager living in a small forest town inbetween these huge Player Kingdoms.
Any game that goes that way and make it all about zergs dies.
The game seems like no boundaries, like it lets do whatever you want and its great. Allowing people to climb the highest mountain and build anywhere is just straight out awesome! This game looks promising already but I hope they improve the combat and we will probably have a great MMO.
I was never one who wanted to play MMOs because I prefer single player games, but this is honestly amazing. I am absolutely going to play this as soon as possible!

im hyped to see the progress day by day, all that in a single night is insane.
Definitely seems very fast to build things makes me wonder how fast the world will fill up. If Asmonds small tribe was able to do this in a day or so imagine what thousands of people will be able to do across the entire map
I guess it will be adjusted. This is the first Alpha test in which the focus is on building. Finding bugs and issues when it needs two weeks to build a simple house might be tough. :D
@@Hamurator The whole alpha test is 4 weeks long, the "general public" only got access on the 14th and onwards.
It’s definitely not going to be thousands of people on one server at a time.

@@YourBlackLocal It already is, there's 5k people in the current alpha and a single shard capacity is 7k.
@@dwood268 There is a difference between people walking around and a straight up battle, where heavy computations have to be made.
There is also no combat system at the moment, which is why they can have such large numbers.

One of the ways to keep this kind of game fresh is to have wandering merchant fairs come through (really did happen in the middle ages) it's how new recipes, spices, crafting methods etc travelled the world. It would be a great way for the devs to also have short term events without having to put down towns. Would be a great way to add in new building pieces too. I'm really curious to know if they plan for mounts, taming, agriculture, pack mules, carts, water wheels, etc. I love that this Alpha has no NDA and am hoping the next one can show off combat.

if they can make this like V Rising with the RPG mod this game is taking over the Survival ARPG MMO genre, much like VRising has for that mix of genres if you look at the content the game has
Mfs are preparing to defend the Kingdom from a Dragon attack.
I can only imagine how Earls will build the smaller Villages and Towns inbetween these huge player Kingdoms.
For fishing and Defense in a Lake IS good, add on top of that that on one Side IS Lake in other IS mountain so pretty much surrounded by ressources and Natural barriers
Their area has a chokehold and surrounded by mountains, its a good area.
Free build like this seems like a good idea, I used to play ark all the time, These servers are gonna be taken over by multi server alpha guilds and theyll just foundation spam the entire map and eradicate anyone who isnt them till every pub server is dead and the only communities will be hosted on private servers
This is 100% what I was thinking. How can this be an MMO without the whole map being filled with pen!s towers everywhere
There's lots of simple solutions. In rust for example, buildings require resources for upkeep, once out of resources the buildings start decaying.
Those building limitations were such a buzzkill, hopefully they remove those.
That game looks amazing so far. Quite promissing after the fiasco of some recent dream destroyer games.

After Alpha experience, If there's no competitive drop loot on death PVP, then there's no point of playing this game.
There wont be, main goal of the game is building. If that doesn't interest you, then the game aint for you

Devs must be thrilled to see players working together to accomplish unique builds like this.
Should build a town hall and square, complete with offices to take note of members and residents, maybe a tax office as well. A memorial would sit better on the mountain to represent everybody that died for their village and you could communicate with large fires ontop of mountains to signal attacks.

Performance looks good considering all the structures that have been built up. I wonder if they will be able to maintain performance on fully built out servers though? Will be a real test of UE5 technology.

Seems like all the claimable land could be taken in a week or two. Asmon basically had most of that valley in a single day.
Um, unless I heard incorrectly, combat isn't available in this test build. Considering as how it will from what I understand, have open PvP, playing without combat would make for a completely difference experience, from what it will be like with combat, so I think people shouldn't get too psyched just yet.
There is combat, but it is a placeholder as they will introduce a new one much better

i watched the 3 hours stream on the main channel... people really put some work in since then some called this an asset flip but it seems way more than that
Asmon if you see this tips for your mountain build focus grand staircase from top first, then build off from the stairs ... doing that would expedite all your future goals for tħis game... take the staircase all the way down to the road between the mountains now you have access from your castle to the mountsin... this game looks so amazing for an alpha... makes me miss having a pc

This game does looks incredible for a Unreal Engine 5 Alpha. Once they fine tune and optimize the graphics even custom gfx mods 😮

It's weird to me that the wall geometry is amazingly realistic with each individual stone modelled... and then it's lazily copy-pasted so you get nasty repeating patterns everywhere.
Will be interesting to see how they flesh it out given this is alpha, but not expecting much. Games like this generally seem good on paper but rarely do well in practice, as it will most likely be niche which won't match scale. So the world is scaled up yet the playbase is limited and makes the game feel empty, this is why survival games can do well, as the scale can match the playerbase, but with MMOs it usually doesn't.

1:07:32 It's multiple parts of the landscape, i've had this same issue when creating a large landscape in Unreal Engine 5. I think it's an old problem with heightfields.

As awesome as this is, it reminds me how much I love fantasy PVE content with dungeons and caves full of monsters and treasures...

This is exactly the kind of game that I dreamed about as a kid. I even followed the development of an mmo called Trials of Ascension (that was cancelled).
This game needs pvp servers on release so Asmon and his horde can take over as the natural overlord he was always meant to be ! :D
what they need now is a good fighting system, and things to fight
Castle Siege system.
They should make combat like Rakion, that old online PVP game. That system is really good but it was held back back network problems.
Brought back memories of when I played Ark years ago, had built a huge elaborate base with a couple friends. It was such a cool time. I may have to check this game out.
Asmon seems impressed at all the work his team of contractors got done on his new home there while he was sleeping
Finally, a multiplayer adventure game where you can create things together, not just play/experience what a handful of developers come up with. All that untapped creativity and imagination finally being utilised in a modern video game. I wonder what other aspects of a game's experience could be driven and enriched by player creativity/imagination, if developers created the tools/opportunities for the players. Reminds me of warcraft 2's map editor where you could create your own story, map, etc and others could play your creation. Think of all the people that play dnd and come up with amazing stories. Say goodbye to friendship is magic world of warcraft, make an adventure game that gives the players the tools to create the stories, monsters, heroes, etc. I think Asmon is right, some people have been wanting an adventure game with tools for our imagination and creativity, for a while.
Game looks good. With the current plot claiming system, I wonder what would stop bots or alt accounts from clanning up and taking over a server just to sell land for in-game or real money. (think archeage).
Players can invade which would negate bots claiming.
All that stairs to get on the top of the mountains remind me the jumping puzzle in some of the games... ;D
