It’s not really necessary. The screen will be held in place very firmly. In my 10 years of phone repair experience, I’ve never had to replace or add adhesive for screen repairs

@@mohammedgiwa sounds to me like maybe the adhesive is not the problem… have you double checked your battery? Sometimes due to over charging or other issues, your battery may get a little swollen and maybe you can’t physically see the change in the battery, but when you place the screen down, does the screen sit nicely without screwing it in? Because it should sit and look perfect even without the screws installed. Check your battery if it looks a little swollen or fatter than usual. Let me know what happened..
Such a dismantling method may lead to a problem with the screen and camera loop. there is another method, in my video there is an example iphone x and iphone xs

sarahihk13 I would think apple has their way of knowing, maybe a serial number or some kind of marker on the back panel/housing that matches the rest of the phone and internals. And once the phone has been opened, the water proofing is tampered with and i would also imagine they have their way of noticing that too. So that’s why i would like to know if the original commenter was successful with his trade in lol. I had my back glass on my iPhone X repaired at a 3rd party walk in store and haven’t had any problems at all. They did a great job.

that front speaker flexor is very easy to damage, I do not recommend that you remove it by wedging it, better raise it by heating the area a little bit and pull up
I've changed at least 50+ phones, my first time with iphone x and somehow my face id doesn't recognize, and I did ios 12.4 update at the same time. My suspicion is that the update did it, because I can't restart phone anymore without connecting to itunes.
Just a suggestion. Mount your camera and take your hat off. The one part that needs to be crystal clear in this video is the removal of the parts from the old screen to the new screen and your camera was shaking so much it was hard to see the correct technique for removing the parts. That seems like a very important step to get right.

By doing a display replacement that setting is normally lost if you don't copy the display eeprom memory from the hold one to the nem one. Due to that I'm asking if you still have that. functionality.
The only way to have it water resistant again is to have the screen replaced by Apple. The machine they use preserves the water resistance. Source: Got my screen replaced at an Apple store and asked them about it.
TheAspenCollins not really needed, you don’t even need to heat then really, a razor blade usually gets in between the screen and body of the phone, then pry up, and stick plastic pry tool or guitar pic in there....just don’t use the razor to pry around the rest of the phone..not the best option

is the proximity sensor married to the motherboard? I swapped two iPhone X screens today without swapping the proximity sensors, just a straight screen swap and afterwards the Face ID stopped working on both. swapping both screens back to the original phones made the Face ID work again.
According to iFixit's video a DFU reset is required to restore Face ID functionaly after rhe display replacement. This pretty much will ruin a lot of people's day if they don't back up their info prior to the repair.
That makes sense. It's the same with security enclave. Apple marries the security processors and hardware together. Without knowing how that's done you're never going to be replace them. It's a small tradeoff for better security.

He is fully aware its a oled display, but when you are working on phones all day you just say lcd or digi depending on what one is the issue.

Jerk Of All Trades : you all are wrong, is not a LCD or an OLED, this is new technology and it’s name is CRT.
Don't you have to also program the screen with the serial from the previous? Also no water resistant adhesive?
No you have never had to program the screens but yes water adhesive is missing so no waterproof

you dont have to but the adhesive is there to protect from dust and water so it is recommended but not a must

Heat isn’t necessary, it makes it easier but it’s not necessary.
When you change screens, don’t u need to calibrate the screen? Apparently new screen doesn’t work unless you use the IPhone Calibration app
