    WARNING!
    As of replacing iPhone X OLED Screen, we have encountered 5 different issues!
    1. A gentle touch on the sensor(FACE ID) Will DAMAGE THE SENSOR AND WILL NOT FUNCTION AGAIN, ALSO A FINGERPRINT WILL RUIN THE PROCESS!
    2. The Flex cables are more sensitive than the other iPhone models, DO NOT TOUCH IT WITH METAL OR ALUMINUM SCREWDRIVERS!
    3. TOUCH THE SENSORS( BRIGHTNESS OR THE EAR SENSOR WILL DAMAGE THEM AND WILL NOT WORK)!
    4. TOO MUCH HEAT will RUIN your face and camera!
    5. On the ear speaker there is a small metal piece, forget to put that piece into the right place again will result in the earpiece not working still with the brightness sensor!

    thanks for this. question though: isn't the iPhone X waterproof or water resistance? wondering if not replacing the adhesive around the edge of the glass impacts that?
    Here's the exact verbiage from Apple: "iPhone X is splash, water, and dust resistant and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP67 under IEC standard 60529. Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty."

      Cable was loose and i'm able to turn on face id, but it still doesn't recognize my face. This happened after ios 12.4 update and simeltaneously with the screen change. When I restart phone it wont turn on, stuck on apple logo forever, until I hold vol up+down and power button while connected to itunes via pc.

Sometimes due to over charging or other issues, your battery may get a little swollen and maybe you can’t physically see the change in the battery, but when you place the screen down, does the screen sit nicely without screwing it in? Because it should sit and look perfect even without the screws installed. Check your battery if it looks a little swollen or fatter than usual. Let me know what happened..

    • @Psdrop257
      @Psdrop257 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sarahihk13 I would think apple has their way of knowing, maybe a serial number or some kind of marker on the back panel/housing that matches the rest of the phone and internals. And once the phone has been opened, the water proofing is tampered with and i would also imagine they have their way of noticing that too. So that’s why i would like to know if the original commenter was successful with his trade in lol. I had my back glass on my iPhone X repaired at a 3rd party walk in store and haven’t had any problems at all. They did a great job.

      The only way to have it water resistant again is to have the screen replaced by Apple. The machine they use preserves the water resistance.
      Source: Got my screen replaced at an Apple store and asked them about it.

      TheAspenCollins not really needed, you don’t even need to heat then really, a razor blade usually gets in between the screen and body of the phone, then pry up, and stick plastic pry tool or guitar pic in there....just don’t use the razor to pry around the rest of the phone..not the best option

    Even if you don’t go the Apple route to get the screen replaced. The screen is up to $300 because it’s more technology in it

    is the proximity sensor married to the motherboard? I swapped two iPhone X screens today without swapping the proximity sensors, just a straight screen swap and afterwards the Face ID stopped working on both. swapping both screens back to the original phones made the Face ID work again.

      that's a great question. I watched the ifixit video they said you need to DFU reset in order Face ID to work. any idea ?

    • @Douceswild
      @Douceswild 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to iFixit's video a DFU reset is required to restore Face ID functionaly after rhe display replacement. This pretty much will ruin a lot of people's day if they don't back up their info prior to the repair.

    • @joshuaorange8290
      @joshuaorange8290 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That doesn't work. I already tried that.

    • @SionynJones
      @SionynJones 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes sense. It's the same with security enclave. Apple marries the security processors and hardware together. Without knowing how that's done you're never going to be replace them.
      It's a small tradeoff for better security.

    • @Douceswild
      @Douceswild 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sionyn Jones So the DFU reset doesn't work? So once the display is replaced, it's good-bye to Face ID? Can anyone else confirm?
