    Love the unedited quality of this. shows what you will really encounter while performing the repair. Not like other videos that show the old screen just coming off of the handset like magic. Also shows the gentleman slipping with the pry tool. THANK YOU FOR BEING THE REAL DEAL !

    This video is very greatly explained. I must say it’s so easy to replace a display. I followed this video and had my iphone display replaced successfully in just $74 CAD. I ordered a DIY repair display for my iphone X. I phone works fine. It’s so easy to replace a display. All you have to do is just try, and follow this video.
    Thank you for your guide.

    success!!! watched a different video about "reprogramming the LCD" but I don't care for the true tone so I skipped that step. I bought the cheapest "in-cell" (LCD?) I could find (about $60 including shipping) and face ID still works! Thank you for the detailed video! Showing us every step in real time made the process a lot less intimidating.

    Good video. Used it again today to do a screen replacement on iphone X. There is one major error though. The gold grounding tab was installed incorrectly in this video. Copying the video will cause battery drainage. The grounding tab was installed 180 degrees from the correct position in the video.

    Really not trying to be a jerk, but that grounding tab didn't get put back exactly as it was removed. The bent up edge was towards the middle when removed. When you put it back you positioned it towards the bottom. I looked on ifixit website and it shows it with the "lip" at the top. Is there a big difference?

      This was a while ago, but from memory FaceID is registered to the device, if that unit is swapped for a replacement it won’t work as desired .. similar to Touch ID on previous models.
      Unsure why camera isn’t working for you.. the ribbons are extremely fragile so any kinks or damage could cause components to fail.

    • @uri_k

      Uri Katvan is OLED richer in color?

    • @uri_k
      @uri_k 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Blankenship the best answer for your question I think is, to try this experiment: If you want a good idea for the difference between LCD and OLED, go to the near Apple Store and just put the iPhone X/XS side by side with the R and that's the best comparison right before your eyes, open some high quality pictures you can get on the internet in the store, load the same pictures every time on the different devices and see if you can tell some advantage. IPhone X/XS are with OLED screen, the IPhone R is with LCD and they are almost the same size.

    • @uri_k
      @uri_k 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Blankenship or if you don't want to see it directly with your own eyes, check out search results on TH-cam for the following videos:
      "iphone xs vs xr screen"
      Or
      "iphone x vs xr screen"

    • @uri_k
      @uri_k 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, taking my own advice - scratch all that ☝🏼️
      Apple have apparently done such a good job with the way their LCD displays run, you can hardly even tell it's not OLED side by side next to a LCD device, so absolutely the *worst* kind of test to try and get a sense why bother replacing a broken OLED screen with a LCD replacement would be to head out to the Apple store...
      In reality, the actual observable differences between the two types of displays, would probably only be apparent with 2 devices repaired, not in their original state, side by side - and that is quite impossible to find...
      I guess no one can actually know how good a replacement LCD can get, when it's not Apple genuine part, not fixed in their official lab, so you might get lucky and get a hold of a really well performing LCD replacement for a broken OLED screen of iPhone X, which will totally be worth it to have installed and thus saving you quite a bit, since they cost a lot less. I really can't tell.

    i think if you use a flat heat tool instead of using what you're using on the video will be easy and you won't look like a first time rookie doing this demo repair., but over all good 7 out of 10 (practice before recording any video with the right tools)
