Joe Bostic’s first start, O.J. Anderson’s rookie year. The Cardinals were a good team in the seventies, but struggled to reach the playoffs behind the Cowboys and Redskins in the NFC East.
Yep...they had some great players...Anderson, Tom Banks, Jim Hart, Dierdorf, both Grays, etc...hell - even Pat Tilley & Roger Wehrle!! Dont forget the infamous Conrad Dobler was on this team couple yrs earlier!!! Terry Metcalf, a great tailback (earlier 70s) was my friends uncle (on my high school team), Metcalfs brother Glen was head coach at a neighboring high school in mid to late 80s (Muskegon, MI).
What idiotic coaching by the Cardinals at the end....after Rockys first down at the three yard line just allowing the Steelers to run the clock right down with running plays....better to allow them a touchdown or at least stop the clock as fast as you can. Whats the point of your quarterback having his two time outs when he has only ten seconds to play with?
Wow Rocky getting it done in the 2nd half! Cardinals, the Bills of the NFC in the 70s, alot of flash but nothing to show for it. For all Jim Harts accomplishments I believe he only played 1 playoff game in his long career, which he of course lost
Merlin Olson. Thank you Mr Garvey. You were one of my favorite commentators. Not a bad actor either buddy. RIP
RIP Dick Enberg & Merlin Olsen!
YES 2 OF THE BEST EVER!!!!

Nobody cuts as well as OJ Simpson
On artificial turf too... This was his rookie campaign .. And i think you mean oj Anderson....
No i think he meant oj the killer of the 1994 murders
@@seanpollack5897 yep
The cardinals were just terrible from about 1978 on.... and that was despite having Otis Anderson and a few other great players...
They were competitive in the early 80s with Lomax and Roy Green but could not break through.
