Armada would probably be the best one to include. It's an anime, there's plenty of upgrades and an ongoing story, the option to have Starscream survive Unicron etc.

I mean, 10 years ago, everyone though it'd be impossible for a mainline SRW to get an international release. So I think there's a chance we'll see the Transformers in SRW someday

You know, I always wondered about why the Transformers never appeared in a SRW game over the years. It seems that so many different series have had at least one appearance.
I figured it was licensing. Just like I wonder if we will see Macross ever appear back in SRW. Licensing.
At least I don't hate Hasbro as much as I *loathe* Harmony Gold.
I heard HG got BTFO'd about Macross. They can use Robotech and such but can't block anything Macross.
That's what I heard but I need to verify this.
With Transformers it's really just alot of leg work for one show at least unlike Macross which is really one company being scummy with their disburtion rights.
The good news is that HG, Big West, and Tatsunoko have finally reached an agreement where non-Robotech Macross stuff can finally leave Japan. They’ve approved showings for a bunch of the movies (I went to see Plus and the Frontier movies), and the OST for multiple series including Macross 7 is legally available on music streaming. I think Macross returning to SRW is a pretty good non-zero chance at this point.
Western properties in general, not just TF, have never appeared in SRW.

I really wanted Transformers to appear on Super Robot Wars for a very long time since I'm was a kid and a Transformers show that I wanted to appear on the game was Super-God Masterforce.
I don’t really get why Hasbro wouldn’t see any benefit from it. They already put transformers games in other mobile games as crossover content.
They've even teamed up with Lego, so why not 2nd place too? And they can use it as a power move to somehow get PR/SS in there because they BOTH own the toy rights for each series.
Hasbro doesn’t care much for the mecha genre to begin with.
Why do you think they’ve never done crossovers with other IP’s that feature robots even for Western-produced series?

@@マジンガーZ-u7t They bought Power Rangers from Saban a couple years ago. I wish Hasbro would care enough to at least give us a Power Rangers and Transformers crossover.
I know print media is different, but there was a Mazinger/ Transformers crossover Manga a couple of years ago. I don't think Hasbro will ever allow TF in a SRW game, which is unfortunate.
Go Nagai had the money and influence to make that crossover happen without much issue from Hasbro since the crossover manga was Japanese only and involved just 2 IPs. SRW is a different issue all together as its a game series with numerous IPs involved and has global release now.

I could see it happening if both Hasbro and Bandai Namco were willing to really work on it.
I mean, they got *Hatsune Miku* in SRW UX, and that was only through cheating with the hat trick of a unique crossover action figure.

There's already designs in transformers that are already in SRW. That being the autobot Jetfire, being a retooled macross toy. With SRW now going global, it won't be long until Hasbro notices.

With rotten luck, a trojan has been staring us in the face the entire time: Those wacky BotBots that can be a good contender for SRW DD, rather than a major franchise should Hasbro notice.

Goryu from Might Gaine is a recolor of Dai Atlas, and Shadowmaru from J-Decker is retooled from Sixshot.

If Star Saber, Optimus or Hot Rod was in SRW or the return of convoy storyline was in 30 my dream team would be complete.

I would love to see G1 Prime giving his usual dadvice to the the GGG mechs or the brave police.
They could reveal that the Braves Super AIs are just cybertronian sparks salvaged from dead autobots found near the Ark crash site. And during the game's story Mightgaine or J-Decker could recover their previous life's memories and remember their past as autobot war heroes.

Technically, Transformers has "already" gotten into SRW. The G1 repaints into villains or side characters feature in the franchise as well.

I want to see G1, Animated, Beast Wars, Energon, the Bay movies, Prime, and many other versions get represented in SRW. Especially to see their interactions with the most iconic Mecha protags and villains. Hell! It would be funny if the Transformers directly complained about the Gundam and Braves characters piloting "foolish imitations" of their glorious race, a reference to non-anime fans comparing Mecha to TF for no reason.
Honestly, I think mainly the Decepticons would be the ones complaining.
While the Autobots would welcome their robot brethren.
I'd prefer if the Bay Transformers never appeared in any medium ever again. 😅

@@anderson9244MLG if any Transformer series were to ever appear in srw it should be the anime continuity only. so that means only g1, Headmasters, victory, Zone , Super God masterforce, Beast Wars second, car Robot, Micron Legends, superlink and galaxy force.

There have been crossovers between Transformers and Mazinger, as well as Evangelion in manga form. An agreement isn't impossible. What i think is that Bamco just doesn't want to bother with the legal hassle needed to make it happen. However, the fact that SRW has been released on Steam shows that they want SRW to expand into western markets, and Transformers would help a lot in that.
That’s on the Takara side of things.
On the Western side, look at the IP’s Hasbro always crosses TF over with, and it’s more than evident that they don’t care for mecha crossovers in the same way.
For me the best Transformers Shows would been The Armada Trilogy Series and maybe from the Classics Transformers Car Robots and Transformers Beast Wars II/Beast Wars Neo.
Are best for fitting into SRW in general since they have outstanding storytelling and character developments that transcends more accurately in general.
Would love to see one day the transformers in SRW with Macross, imagine the bots or Starscream looking at the Valkyries and mention how they reminds him of a friend of his.

Smite and Mobile Legends managed to include several Transformers in their games which aren't even mecha-focused. The latter is also developed by an Asia-based company and that gives me high hopes of Bandai-Namco also pulling off this feat one day.

The impossible dream of mine is for Transformers to debut alongside the return of SDF Macross, and Jetfire gets mixed up with the rest of the Valkyrie squad. I highly doubt they'd pull it off, but I'm also doped up on so much copium that I've been hoping for LEGO Bionicle in SRW.
The original SDF Macross could also work very well with Space Battleship Yamato 2022 (sequel to the remake, remake of the original season 2)
Both Gatlantian and Zentradi are somewhat artificially made (maybe Zentradi can be more advanced Gatlantians?), their ship designs are at least somewhat matching in colour, and both plots involve love in some way or another.

This is the same license problem with macross franchise,while it appeared in SRW games in Japanese it still haven’t appeared in English games due to Harmony gold holding the license.
That’s a bummer because it’s the one series I want to see in SRW,I have to except the hard truth maybe I won’t see it happen in my lifetime,and moving forward in my life.
Of course I’ll still play SRW games till the day I die.
At least Im grateful we have the brave series in the games,it’s the only thing related to transformers like a distant family relatives.

I feel that with Bamco making more of an effort to branch out into the global market over the past few years, the idea of them reaching out to Hasbro and working out some kind of deal doesn't seem as far-fetched to me as it once did. We can only hope.

Sega Toys handled My Little Pony toys in Japan. Plus other Hasbro stuff, Disney, and so on. ST is one of the reasons you could see a Hasbro stuff in Disney (e.g. MLP & Chip and Dale & Sonic the Hedgehog).

Japan's Tokyo Disneyland / Disney Resort's Toy Story Hotel includes toy themes from many different companies.

But in truth, the real-life villain was one Dan DiDio or a mate of mine named Saidi calls Dan Didiot 🤣. The man hates continuity and I think to myself, if you hate continuity so much, then why are you writing for Beast Wars which has ties to Transformers G1 (Which basically is a hybrid of the cartoon and comics.) So no, I don't hate Beast Machines. There were some good ideas, but because Didiot got involved, don't be surprised at the way it turned out.

@@minicle426I agree on the Vok Saga of Beast Wars, it not for Dan Didiot sticking his ugly mug and unwanted business, Beast Wars would have gotten a fourth season or sequel with the original writers ( Larry DiTillio and Bob Forward) returning, we would gotten answers to who and what the Vok's Purpose was, Tarantulas and the Tripredacus Council's origins and tying up loose ends from Transformers G2. (On a serious note: Why does Didiot keep sticking his nose in other people's work and make a complete mess of things, his behaviour reminds so much of Harvey Weinstein minus the Casting Couch.)

I feel like Star Saber/Victory Saber would really be the only autobot that would really fit with the other super robots.
He even has his own awesome theme they could play an instrumental of.
God Ginrai and Grand Maximus fit in pretty well too.
And if they include Super God Masterforce they could even make Overlord an unlockable character that can be saved, since he ends up joining the Autobots late in the anime.

SEGA not only a sponsor of Evangelion in the 1990s, but Evangelion seems to be unofficially a 'SEGA series'. When Evangelion 3.33 came out in 2015, SEGA basically gone with the 'Let's all watch Evangelion 3.33' campaign.
It's one of their projects in 2015.

Only, outside 'official Bandai-Namco stuff' officially requires extra help. Of course, he also did not mention "Transformers".

No. Bandai owns the merchandising IP rights for Digimon and multiple Toei anime have appeared in SRW. Its more due to setting, story and choosing the right Digimon that can work in SRW, which should not be an issue for SRW games today.

A lot of 70s Mecha anime like Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Getter Robo, Grendizer, Daimos, Golion, Jeeg, Gaiking etc. are all Toei.

I keep wondering why there isn't Transformer. Now I understand why 🤔
Also, there were different versions of F! SRLFT which consisted of Season 1 and 2 combined where they have the narrator (who would be Kamen Rider Black's narrator later on) constantly saying things so the kids wouldn't get lost in the shuffle (which is annoying imo) while there was also a non-narration ver. (I think).
The biggest difference is that they shuffled the episodes so that there was a consistent story and made the Ultimate Doom 3-parter the finale to the series before Season 3 started as well as the TF Movie which didn't air in Japan till 1989 even tho it was animated in Japan. Don't ask me how that happened. Takara is funny that way in terms of distribution.
Imo, Ultimate Doom felt like a proper ending whereas it just popped up in Season 1. Season 2 ended with B.O.T which was the worst episode by fans.
As for the Japanese series, Asian countries and other places gained to watch the series thanks to Omni dubs: th-cam.com/video/20FADEs7DZA/w-d-xo.html I grew up watching Headmasters back in the early 2000s which was how I got to know the series.
yeah, I was wondering if there was a roadblock to having Transformers get in on the action that is Super Robot Wars. shame.
If they do include Transformers, I think they should choose Cybertron, because it has the strongest version of Optimus Prime.

I didn't say anything about stats. The Optimus Prime from the Cybertron anime is considered the strongest incarnation of the character alongside Optimus Prime from the Power Master comics. Just ask TH-camr Diamondbolt. He made a whole video about it.

Hasbro would only be an obstacle if this hypothetical SRW game were to be localized outside of Japan. In Japan, Takara is the sole owner of the Transformers brand and can do whatever it wants, per Aaron Archer's words. It being "western" is irrelevant, since it's both American and Japanese and a fairly split franchise where Americans and Japanese generally have their own media to themselves. Hasbro has no say over what happens in that country, in fact they still have a binding contract with Takara since 1983 to pay them royalties for using their designs outside of Japan...
If there's any reason why there's no Transformers SRW, it's not Hasbro, it's Takara and Bamco. Transformers isn't popular enough in Japan for them to overcome their differences and make a cross promotional game with Transformers in it.

There is the notion that Bamco is branching out around the globe, which may mean a global release of SRW DD, meaning it may collab with other mech series around the globe

Before that, they primary used "Convoy". Itself was a name inherited in the original Takara Japanese toys.
Battle Convoy became Optimus Prime with Container Trailer.
Powered Convoy became Ultra Magnus with Car Carrier Trailer.
