  • I Found the most toxic Shalin build that you can abuse in Paladins
    It's been awhile since I've played Sha so I'm a bit washed off but it really doesn't matter because the way this loadout works you don't need aim all you need is to Hold the W key and press LMB.
    Shalin is a Very Strong Character but gets easily bullied if you're not getting much support from the team. Well that changes today , cuz Today I'll be sharing a secret loadout that gives Shalin a total rework in his base kit.

    idk how much this matters or if anybody cares that much since this game has been on a decline but here goes:
    As a former ex-pro player, someone who is a big Sha Lin enjoyer, and someone that has about 22,000 hours in this game, I have personally went through all his stats in order to make the most optimized builds.
    Sha lin incurs a 10% movement speed penalty when drawing his bow. If you read what the loadout card "Poised" does, it reduces the movement speed penalty, all the way to 100%. This means that if you spend all 5 points on this card, you're just removing the "slow" when you draw your bow, but note, you aren't technically moving "faster" if that makes sense. Some might argue that regaining this speed is worth it since it allows you to move around the map more efficiently as you are no longer "slowed" for basically the entire match, because obviously you'll be charging up arrows non-stop the entire game. However, Sha Lin as a character, is a back line DPS, so you'll find most success in the long to mid ranges (yes you can sometimes flank with Sha, and you should, but it shouldn't be the default playstyle). This also means that you should always be striving to be correctly positioned, as if you don't, you won't have enough time to burst down certain enemies if they dive you.
    Another fun fact, you move slightly faster with all characters in the game if you move forwards (using W), instead of moving backwards (using S). This will be important to remember later.
    So, what do we change in the build? Obviously I have a few variations of builds, but seeing as you were trying to make a "movement speed" kind of build, I'll give you the one I made tailored to that. First of all, we'll change out "Poised" for "Run Like The Wind", as when you put all 5 points into this card, you get a whopping 35% increased movement speed for 3 seconds when using withdraw. Here, you aren't getting rid of the penalty, but you're actually ADDING movement speed, which means in moments where you aren't drawing your bow, you actually gain a movement speed increase; and a pretty significant one at that. Then we'll still keep in wanderlust at 4 points which will add an additional 12% movement speed at all times. Since the penalty for Sha Lin drawing his bow is 10%, this basically nullifies the penalty, while still giving you an extra 2% movement speed at all times. Now I use "Bullseye" on 3 points, because Sha Lin at moments turns into an opportunistic burst DPS that can flank, and relies on his cooldowns to really have "pop off" moments. If you are in a difficult team fight that will be decided in the last moments, and you get an elimination, You'll just be resetting your cripple arrow, rapid shot, and withdraw; which, if they were already let's say half off their cooldown, this single elimination basically gives them all back. In other words, it is a card that helps you "snowball" and finish fights and is very important to Sha Lin's kit. Next we have swagger, which I keep at a one pointer. In recent times, Sha has gotten HP buffs, so he isn't as "squishy" as before. Now I'm a big HP card lover for almost all heroes, as it is undeniable value to have more base HP; however, as I've already mentioned, the ability to close out fights with bullseye is just too important to Sha Lin's value as a champion that in my opinion you can't play it at lower than 3 points, so for that, we leave the HP card as a 1 point filler. Lastly we have one of Sha's best cards: "Shimmer". This card is similar to Cassie's "Somersault" card, which will completely reset the cooldown of your movement ability (in this case withdraw) by 100% when you fall under a certain percentage of HP. Sha lin has a base of 2150 HP, plus the extra 50 from our 1 point of swagger, so 2200HP. Shimmer at 2 points means he gets the reset at 30% of his health, or 660 HP. Now, this card usually feels best at 3 points, as this bumps up the percentage to 45%, or 990 HP. But, I've found that in the grand scheme of things, having the reset at 660 HP is usually better as that is the health at which you start to be in danger of dying, and sometimes, getting the reset at about half your HP can actually be a waste at times because you didn't quite need the reset yet. And that will conclude the build.
    For the final note, remember how I said you technically move faster when you use "W", or your forward key instead of using "S" or your backward key? With Sha Lin being a backline DPS, you will inevitably get dove, either by flanks or off tanks. When this happens, you use your withdraw, and turn around so that you can use "W" to run away; note: DO NOT CHARGE UP AN ARROW FOR THE FIRST SECOND OR TWO, because obviously if you do, you will incur the 10% movement speed penalty, which we don't want. Every little bit of movement speed helps, and having almost 47% increased movement speed right when you withdraw let's you re-gain distance from your enemies, as well as make it so they are more likely to lose sight of where you went because you moved so fast out of the range of your stealth being visible to the enemy. Also, buy "Nimble" in game, as movement speed is the only stat boost in the game with the least amount of diminishing returns, which means you don't get super harsh diminishing returns by stacking multiple movement speed buffs.
    TLDR; I'm a "poised" hater as this card only removes a 10% movement speed penalty, and doesn't technically add movement speed. Use "Run Like The Wind" instead at 5 points to actually gain 35% MS, which is very helpful to stay alive in fights and to disengage from enemies when they dive you. Also, U don't need that much more HP, so leave swagger at 1 point and put 3 on "Bullseye" in order to snowball and finish fights. Lastly, take off the card "Mirage" and replace it with "Shimmer" at 2 points as this card lets you reset your withdraw when you get to low HP and are in a pinch, and lets you survive so many fights.     ngl that build is trash and here's why:
    1. Fully drawn arrow reduces your movement speed by 10% = 90% movement speed. Wonderlust at 3 is enough to negate the speed reduction. Spending 5 points on poise is simply not worth it.
    2. Recurve as a talent in theory increase your dps, but in practice, you will not be able to make use of it in most cases simply bc he's a precision-based character. Meaning you'll be spending more time lining up the shot than you will loading another one. this is especially true when you pre-load a shot, making the talent do nothing during that time.
    3. Sha has 2 other speed cards that makes his speed way better overall. Running Run Like The Wind at 5 gives you 35% movement speed while using your dash, which persists for 3 seconds after activation, meaning you can use the speed even if your invis is broken. On top of having Shimmer, giving you a second dash when taking dmg, means you have 2 dashes and 2 instance of speed buff at any given time. This makes traversal and combat far more lucrative.
    4. Sand trap by far is more useful in most scenarios cause of the dmg increase, allowing you to beat through dmg thresholds for squishies. Without the talent it takes 3 shots to kill most squishies, while the talent lets you 2 shot most. desert silence is also a nice alternative, allowing you to bully champs that rely on abilities to deal dmg and/or survive with its increase uptime and silence.
    Overall, this build your promoting is sub-optimal. I strongly recommend trying these cards out and see if you like it or not. I played a ton of sha, over lv 50 and generally works best for me.
