The initiative to start high speed railway network in India is a good move.Already existing railway network also should be maintained well.Japanese hsr quality is proven with zero accidents in about 50 years of Shinkasen operation in Japan.Indian approach for pan India hsr should be 1)Make a seperate coperation like dmrc to manage hsr in India 2)Transfer the technology from Japan so that most of the civil,electrical,mechanical,electronics,software etc which are related to hsr can be made in India under make in india initiative which also gives upper hand to hsr technology and also can reduce cost. 3)Proper operating and maintenance department for smooth running. 4)Planning dept for extending the hsr lines from metro connections first to final aim of connecting most states and union territories. Lets hope that in 10-20 years India also can connect most of its territories through hsr as in China so that people can come fast from rural areas and work in cities and can go back all in one day.Plus we can travel anywhere in India inside 24 hours by hsr.This also allows us to save cost on more domestic airports in each states as only international travel is managed by aircraft.Most domestic interconnecting flights can be avoided using hsr.
