I’ve relapsed yesterday on my no gap journey 🙁 i was going good on day 30, but I’ve realized a major reason I relapsed is because I had absolutely nothing to do yesterday. I work at a Verizon store we are taught to check id to change any SIM card it has to be the person on the account because of this stuff but we have had employees work with people who reach out to them on social media but Verizon catches them immediately when the real customer calls Verizon to get the sim swapped back via the remarks on the account

This video inspired me to get a few USB security keys. Not only do I feel better knowing that I no longer have to rely on my phone, but just being able to tap on a USB device is much quicker than needing to fumble about with codes.
What they do is mirror your phone. Thats why when you type on a phone or tablet the letters are slightly highlighted. It leaves a trace of your password combination. They screen record you logging in and then sign in.

my experience, my youtube account was hacked 3 times until the phone number suddenly changed to a russian phone number and my sim phone card was from indonesia (no verification notification came from my phone). I was forced to create a new youtube account so as not to repeat the same mistake. Today's hackers are very sophisticated, believe me you have to be careful, your best gmail advice should be in privacy so that no one tries several dozens of times hackers want to log in using your gmail. that you suggest using 2fa flash disk it is very helpful to protect all accounts. change your password like action replay code Max haha :D . thanks alex..

Definitely not a SIM swap bro, when that happens the main SIM card gets blocked. So if that happened he would’ve noticed it.
I noticed this too. Also after a certain amount of times you get sim swapped your carrier writes a note on your account.
This is why you never back up or "verify" your social media accounts through your phone number the best thing to do is get text now buy a number verify through there and if a sim swap attack is initiated I believe text now allows you to change yournl number as well.
I now use a password manager for all my accounts because I got hacked 2 months ago

You’d be surprised, if you get unlucky people will do this if they know they can blackmail you out of something or if you just come across the wrong psychopath. The chance is small but bigger than most people think
As a network admin this is pretty sound advice other good password combos are random words like pepperfloppyunicornwafer42. One thing to note, Google voice isn't available to Canadians unless you're a business and then it's an extra fee on top of your workgroups subscription, where correct me if I'm wrong but it's free to anyone in the USA.
Are password managers reliable? I find it sketchy to have all my passwords digitally saved where they could get hacked all in one swoop

I always use as long passwords as I can with different weird characters and shit everywhere except for browser games like krunker where I use a password and username I can remember since I don’t give a crap if someone hacks that

there are multiple ways to be authenticated, you don't have to be texted a code. your physical key is an example.

I use a YubiKey as well, I have it set up to be a smart card for Windows, then when I leave my desktop, I have it automatically lock my computer. Can’t get into the computer or my Exchange server account without the YubiKey.
